[Console: Video]
[The person on the console screen looks shockingly like Sokka. Have you ever seen Sokka before in person? Then it's pretty easy to tell that the person on the screen actually is Sokka. He's got Sokka's eyes, Sokka's skin colour, and a somewhat similar style of hair given that there's still something like a small swish of hair at the top of his head.
[Except, he doesn't look exactly like Sokka. Unlike the Water Tribe warrior, his hair is slightly different—worn down instead of strictly pulled back. He's sporting a rather large moustache and a rather glorious beard. He's sporting the colour red instead of the colour blue, even if his clothes is somewhat makeshift. And above all else, he doesn't sound like Sokka. The man is talking with a rather posh and sophisticated accent and a pitch that's at least an octave or two lower than Sokka's normal voice.
[But it's still Sokka. Though perhaps if one hasn't seen him before, he might be mistaken for someone completely new.]
Greetings and salutations, my dear citizens of the Shell.
My name is Fire. Wang Fire! Sophisticated gentleman and trained psychotherapist, at your service. [He twirls his moustache with his right hand, as if to add embellishment to the declaration.]
It's come to my attention that, of late, there's been quite the rumblings of frustration on the account of a good many people that I've had the pleasure of making acquaintances of. And why ought it not to be the case? The Shell has changed so dramatically over the past few weeks, almost to no one's general preference. And so it's with this in mind that I've decided, as a most magnanimous gesture, to offer my services to you all.
Should you perhaps need someone to talk to about matters of the mind or the heart, you might find me around the Midnight Hotel, where I'm currently staying. If you can't find me around, just ask around reception. They'll be able to summon me to your side in a jiffy.

He'll admit that he is curious at least, enough to possibly drop by should he feel the need, just to see where this goes. ]
And might you offer acclimatization sessions as well, monsieur le doctor?
Though I do hope you do not have me confused in any way. I am not a "monster doctor," nor do I intend to be treating any monsters you might have. Well, unless those are the sort of inner monsters harboured within your mind!
[Yeah, Sokka can't help but crack a small joke there.]
[And that has Arno smiling a bit, and trying not to laugh.]
Ah sorry, French is...well it translates to Mr. Doctor, anyway? Though I will admit that there are...demons, shall we say, running around a bit in here.
But do feel free to come by the Midnight Hotel at your convenience. I can certainly do my best to acclimatise you to this world. You will feel so acclimatised that it will feel like it's your home away from home!
And ah, thank you. That would be ideal. Home did not exactly feel like home the last time I saw it, so...
And for the latter of your inquiries, you are most certainly welcome, good sir!
[Well, he's accustomed himself to the differences in technology but some language choices still seem to stand. They get translated a little oddly maybe but...]
I must say those HAVE gotten much easier to identify but for the first few days, things were a little awkward. And I think I found the kedan version a few times. I thought we were bad for dumping chamber pots out everywhere. Apparently they do do something better than the French!
Ah, I must admit that I am admittedly somewhat fascinated by the technological advancements that this world has to offer. Admittedly, some of it is the fine stuff brought forward by our own kin, but most I can imagine will take to this world something like a fish takes to water.
[That is an odd thought, but, upon consideration, given the problems in finding proper translations of various works Arno's wanted to read, particularly those in papers belonging to the brotherhood, and learning the classics as a boy, and having to read those in the original...]
That is really rather practical. I think it may have been useful to students everywhere, not to mention the poor teachers.
Oh I am too. But wait. You mean Foreigners in general, or just those from your world? France has its great moments, but our most recent great invention is a massive death machine. I'd as soon not have one of those come here.
[Or anything that Aang knew worth teaching him.]
I'm not sure I understand your question; some of what is here is the product of knowhow recreated in this world! Other parts of it is, well... not of our own. [Despite an attempt to roleplay neutrality, Sokka is reluctant to outright say that it's the kedans' own efforts.] But, please, we have all had near-death encounters aplenty here on the Shell; I agree it would be far preferable to not have another.
Re: [video]
[Who knows if this is true? Sokka's Odd Twin might very well be The Smart Twin after all. Arno's inclined to believe travel of that sort IS possible.]
But nothing and no one in the fourth? An empty nation?
[Or at least, perhaps a very small and widely dispersed one. Arno has a hard time attempting to picture that, having grown up in Versailles and then living in Paris, and his mental picture becomes one that's rather like a deserted Versailles. The one that he had been heading home to during his night of depressed drinking before ending up here. And thinking of home does make him sigh.]
Ah, yes. That was some of what I meant. So some of us have left our mark on the world's technology. I am impressed we have that chance. And yes, I do not intend to invite Madame Guillotine here if I can help it.
Sokka's Odd Twin being the smart twin? Oh god. He's got this guy fooled, clearly.]Well, in fairness, there was a sole remaining soul that compromised the fourth nation, and so it's hard in that capacity to even call it a nation any longer, though certainly I learned what I could possibly glean from him.
[Like how to ride otter penguins down snowy hills and how to ride elephant koi fish. That sort of stuff.]
Well, when we got here, well, I actually cannot say because I've hardly even had tons of time to be here! But from what I've gathered, it was not as technological as you see it today. So only naturally, we sought to leave our mark. And the people were... perhaps more willing then than they are now. Only time will tell to see if it continues as such.
Re: [video]
You bet he does. Always get the new ones roped into your schemes and dreams. This is like a good object lesson in that direction]A single soul? I suppose that WOULD be a difficult designation.
[that DOES all sound like awesome stuff to know, admittedly.]
Ahh, yes, I'd heard, well, the basics now. So Foreigners made their marks in that great Before. It's weird to think I've missed so much.
flows ever swiftly downstream
To be the ocean
Or something like that. Don't ask me what it means, but it fits the proper syllable pattern. And it sounds kind of... related.
[Also smart. It sounds kind of smart. Kind of. Maybe.]
But you're right. It's...something to think about.
[He guesses.]
I'll have you know that there's an entire school dedicated to that sort of poetry!
Though I don't see why
It's impeccably easy
If you can count well
Re: [video]
I would believe that, actually.
So it goes like this
Learning and practicing forms
With my lame attempts?
[And then he's grinning at the "weird twin"]
And she said learning was hard.
I calls it simple.
Leaning can be many things
that help the skilled.
Your last line had four, not five
So I win the contest.
[Said as he inadvertently adds a sixth syllable to his last line.]
Re: [video]
Why so you truly
are the master of such art
my admiration.
[There's a slight incline of Arno's head.]
Thank you, thank you, [he says, not bothering to continue the pretence of trying to keep up the haiku form.] I take to most of the artistic forms like a fish to water, so I'm glad it shows.
[Yeah, just have him draw a picture for you one day.]
Re: [video]
Really? Oh now I must see other examples. Drama?
Well, I do fancy myself a rather skilled artist as well!
Do you now? I would very much like to see your work sometime.
