[ Vergil was walking along the Water District when he started to broadcasting from welcome center radios he had gotten some time before. He had never bothered with the network before he was reawakened, but now he spent a bit of time listening when others speak. Today he chooses to speak. He has been idly far too long. ]

Greetings people of Keeliai, Foreigners and Native alike. My name is Vergil, many of you knew my brother, Dante. [ He expects a joke to be made soon, it always is.] My point for addressing you is I know he had his fingers in many things. I was not in a well state before he was spirited away. I would like to know, if anyone would come forward and tell me if you knew him, and just what he was doing. I am trying to piece together a puzzle. This is all.

He fought some of the kedan that had become cultists of Malicant, [he begins.] He fought alongside Tony, who knew him better than I did.

I'm assuming you've already asked Valdis.

I had heard a little of the cultists from him, not much to work off of though.

And no, I didn't. I will i due time just not yet.

I can tell you more about the cultists if you like, [he offers.]

That would be helpful yes. [ He spoke as he sat back crossing one of his legs and giving Gene his full attention.]

It would be too easy to say they were mad. Maybe some of them were. But most of them, I think, knew what they were doing; they chose to devote themselves to that evil creature.

They had poisoned weapons that could increase the taint of darkness upon us, make us vulnerable to falling under Malicant's sway.

Sometimes men get seduced by evil.

[ As much as he hated to do it he quoted Arkham.] evil can be quite intoxicating, offering power you otherwise would never have.

[ He sounds like he knows this for certain.]

[wrathfulkhan]

Yeah, [Gene replies, looking down and scowling at nothing.] Yeah, I know.

Good thing we're past that, right? [Note the 'we', Vergil.]

[ He wont deny he's still on a dark path and trying to fix that.]

[wrathfulkhan]

Hm. Aren't we all.

[A bit of a dark turn, this conversation's taken.]

But we prevailed, in the end, over Malicant, and I haven't heard much about the cultists since.

[ Vergil nods, but lets it go. As dark as the talk was, little signs showed he actually eased up. His shoulders relaxed, he placed his fingers against his chin as he leaned in the chair listening.]

And that is why the Kedan hate all of us, as Dante explained.

[wrathfulkhan]

Not exactly, [Gene says, shrugging.] They hate us because they think we were complicit in the spell that kept them dull and compliant.

That sounds like blissful ignorance.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Gene snorts.] For them, or for us?

[walkthedarkpath]

Open for interpretation. [ He gets half a smirk from the elder son of Sparda.]

My favorite, [Gene says dryly.]

[ Whats this... Vergil chuckled.]

[wrathfulkhan]

[Gene smirks.] It seems like the cultists have gone dormant, at least, now that their object of adoration has been destroyed.

[Oh, you sweet summer child.]

[walkthedarkpath]

They should be hunted down an exterminated.

[wrathfulkhan]

[Gene snorts.] What, for clinging to a remnant, a ghost story? Hardly.

Some cults are more powerful than you think. Sometimes they find ways of resurrecting their gods. You never let the followers live.

[ Whose for mass murder, THIS GUY.]

[wrathfulkhan]

[Gene isn't, but only because he's trying to be a better person. But he knows deep down there's only one way to be properly rid of a problem.]

I'll...bear that in mind.

[ He nodded, assuming that was good to the word.]

Is there anything else you know that eh was involved in?
