✦ 001 ✦ [video]
[As the feed turns on, one may notice the camera pointed directly at an open window, where some might recognize a familiar face, and others, a slightly less familiar (and noticeably younger) face. Sitting on a large tree branch just outside her room. Because why not?]
[14-year-old Zatanna looks oddly at peace for the moment, back leans against the rough bark, a few pieces peppering the shoulders of her black jacket blazer. One leg dangles off the edge, the other bent at the knee. She has a half smile on her face, and her eyes continue to casually take in her surroundings, even as she addresses the Network.]
I'll admit...definitely not what I was expecting.
[Implying that she's somehow unsurprised by her current limbo status. Like she knew something like this would happen, even if there was no way she could've predicted exactly what. Knew and accepted it. For now.]
Can't really complain, though. I'd take a giant tree house over an eternity in empty helmet space any day.
Name's Zatanna, by the way. Zatanna Zatara.

[He didn't mean anything Zee, it's just that being a
manboy of science is hard]Any chance I could see some of it? The real stuff, I mean.
And if you don't mind, obviously.
Sorry. I just...get a little tired of people trying to call me and my dad a fake, is all. Even when the magic's real, not everyone's always willing to believe, y'know?
Yeah, I can show you a few things. Any requests?
You'll probably have an easier time of it here.
[Probably.
Good luck with Wally]Besides, trying to understand natural phenomena is what science is all about. If magic is real where you come from, it's probably just one of your universe's differences. Like an additional force or form of energy native to your world that isn't present in the others...
[Okay yeah, he may need to be interrupted here, he's completely forgotten about that last question.]
[
gdi, Wallace]Do me a favor? Don't go trying to explain the trick. It's one of magic's greatest taboos.
[He cannot help himself :|]
Have you tried doing anything with it since you got here?
I was kinda out of it the first few hours, but once we made it to the city area, I'd managed to get most of my strength back.
[Because he is totally not speaking from experience here at all, nope]
I'm guessing they put you somewhere in the Wood Sector, judging from the tree you're in. Have you had a chance to explore any of the other sectors yet?
I haven't really had the chance to go exploring yet. Figured I'd get to know some of the locals first. See who's out there.
If anything, I've love to see them all again. Just...you know...not here. Back home.
[Considering that if the kedan were telling the truth, dying was one to show up, Pete could sympathize.]
I know how that feels, too. As friendly as everyone's been so far, I think I'm the only one from my world to show up. At least, out of anyone I know.
And even though he seems like a nice enough guy, I'd still prefer friends and family.
I'd probably feel the same way, honestly.
I mean, if snagging a science nerd is a top priority, this place probably doesn't have a pattern to who it brings in.
[JUST ORDINARY PETER PARKER HERE, MOVE ALONG, NOTHING UNUSUAL AT ALL.]
You're kinda down on yourself, aren't you?
Maybe you're one of those kids who has potential you hadn't realized yet.
[He's joking. Mostly. A little.]
And assistants don't wear dresses. They'd snag in the machines. Spandex and lycra suits all the way.
[LIAR, LIAR, SPIDER-THEMED PANTS ON FIRE]
It takes a certain kind of guy to run around in a spandex suit, I guess.
[Dramatic Irony is a beautiful thing]
