One leg dangles off the edge, the other bent at the knee. She has a half smile on her face, and her eyes continue to casually take in her surroundings, even as she addresses the Network.]

I'll admit...definitely not what I was expecting.

[Implying that she's somehow unsurprised by her current limbo status. Like she knew something like this would happen, even if there was no way she could've predicted exactly what. Knew and accepted it. For now.]

Can't really complain, though. I'd take a giant tree house over an eternity in empty helmet space any day.

Long story short, people started getting upset at the way foreigners were treated-- huge banquets, stuff like that. Keeliai isn't exactly rife with resources. Anyway, eventually the gangs started causing trouble. Turf wars, the usual. Except the police force here conscripted some foreigners to help quell the violence.

I can only imagine what they think of us now.

Were they willing allies...or did they force us to fight?

[Kind of an important distinction.]

I'm betting they're not our number one fans, that's for sure.

I think it was more like subtle coercion.

I'm not sure I like the sound of that, Robin.

It's one thing to fight the bad guys back home. But I'd rather not get mixed up in some turf war between the locals.

Trust me, I don't either. There's a reason I don't work with the police force here.

I'd kinda be surprised if you did.

Then it's no surprise when I tell you not to trust some of the kedan, especially the higher-ups. They have some kind of agenda, but I have no idea what it is.

Right now, the only people here I really trust are you and Wally.

[This wasn't even her being sentimental. For all the people who had thus far claimed to know "her", she didn't know them. Trust might come in time...she was already starting to meet new faces and make potential friends...but for the moment, she was sticking with what was familiar.]

That's probably a good idea. Nothing against the other "foreigners" here or most of the kedan, but, honestly, I haven't been here long enough to vet anyone.
