[The feed shows a man in his early thirties wearing a bright orange pilot suit, with some bruises in his forehead and cheekbones. Poe is not new to myriad sorts of alien creatures but beings living on a giant turtle and between reality planes is a whole new level of 'special'. That said, he had taken the news surprisingly well and now is giving the camera a smile.]
It's been a long time since I had vacations - over a decade, probably. Please, someone tell me this much cold is not the norm here. I'm having flashbacks of a mission I had in Hoth years ago and I actually would like to keep all my fingers intact.
I'm also looking for a friend, we seem to be losing each other a lot lately...It's an astromech droid, a white an orange BB unit. It's terribly cute and it knows it. If you happen to see it, I'd appreciate a call.
[The rest of the message is changed from video to text, and written specifically in Aurebesh.]
Hello. This is Poe Dameron, callsign: Black Leader.
I might as well find out if there’s someone else here from home. The Galaxy is not as much of a big place as it looks like.
If you can read this, please let me know.

It's an useful skill to have and it saves you having to rely on protocol droids like Treepio. [Poe likes C3PO, but the gold droids can be a bit too much to handle on occasion.] How many languages do you know?
Yes, it's a spacecraft designed for combat and one of the fastest one out there. And you can do barrel rolls with them too.
Re: video
[ She's curious. Never allow her to ask too many questions, or she finds more and more to ask. ]
I speak three, but write four. I'm hoping to learn the local language as well, while I'm here.
[ She chuckles. ]
I'll take your word for it. I hated flying.
video
[Treepio has also seen a lot of things, some good and some terrible, Poe can't blame him for worrying.]
Writing is always somewhat easier. I should learn that one one as well if I am going to stay here for long.
Ouch. [Poe gives her a (fake) hurt face, as if she just mentioned she murdered his puppy.] I couldn't live without it but It's not for everyone.
video
[ Of course, her world doesn't have things like protocol droids. So, she's speculating. ]
I would be willing to learn along with you and help you study, should you decide to learn.
[ She wants to get together a group of them to learn. Maybe even a "study group". ]
I only flew across the world, maybe flying in outer space is different?
[ She's amused. ]
video
[Poe will tell her everything about them if she wants to know more.+
I'll definitely keep that in mind, thank you Brigid.
[Useful and fun, if she ever does it for real Poe will join in a heartbeat.]
The views are more spectacular.
video
[ She likes hearing stories! ]
You're quite welcome.
[ she's going to put out the call soon. ]
Are they? We don't have public space travel where I'm from, either.
video
[Then she will be entertained for a while.]
Yes but I might be a biased party. I make a living out of flying around the Galaxy. Too bad then.
video
[ GIVE HER ALL THE STORIES. ]
Isn't it odd flying around the stars like that? Or do you get used to all the dangers?
video
[A LOT OF THOSE ARE SILLY. I hope she's ready for the second hand embarrassment.]
From my experience, people is far more dangerous than the stars. I've learned to fly when I was six, it's up there where I feel more at home.
video
[ SHE DOES NOT CARE. ]
So young? Is that typical?
video
[THEN SHE WILL LAUGH.]
Not really, not. Both of my parents were part of the military back in the day, my mother was a fantastic pilot, and I guess it just seemed right for me to follow their steps.
video
[ She likes laughing! ]
Oh, your Mom was military? So was my Da.
video
[That was fun (no, it wasn't).]
My mom was a pilot, my dad was in the infantry. Oh, yours too? Infantry too or...?
video
[ She's proud of her father. ]
He spent twenty years in before getting out and becoming a civilian policeman.
video
[That's something Poe can understand very well.]
video
[ she shrugs. She doesn't know a lot about her Da's service. He never wanted to talk about it. ]
Re: video
[Poe's dad talked about all the great things his companions did. He rarely took credit for anything, even if he was the one in charge.]

video
[ She wrinkles her nose at him. ]
History professor, actually.
Re: video
Learning history is key so it's good to hear is still being taught out there. Where I come from learning what really happened can be tricky.
