Earth, twenty-sixteen. I only know of two other worlds, and neither of them have that technology either.

You have any magic in your world?

I am not familiar with Earth, maybe it's part of the Outer Rim sector? Most of those territories are unexplored.

We have the Force, some people across the universe night call it magic. It's a metaphysical energy that connects and binds all living things around the Galaxy

I'm from the moon Yavin IV, in the Yavin system.

Those who are strong in the force can do all sort of things that seems similar to magic. The most noticeable ones are mind-probing and telekinesis.

No, I don't. [He doesn't seem to be bothered by that either.] But those who are gifted with the Force are really special. I've been lucky enough to meet some of them.

So what do you do? I mean, you're a pilot. But what kind of piloting you do? Passenger flights, cargo? You said something about missions.

I'm the leader of the Starfighter corps, it's a military squadron. Where I come from there's a war going on and we try to protect people from it. Cargo flights I've done on occasion but they're really slow and boring.

Every serious Magician gets a discipline, something they can do that most other people can't. Then there's magic every Magician can do. I can do a lot of things.

That is usually enough indication of someone's intentions. [Poe had met far too many people who act like that.]

You must be really good then. Where I come from Force users are almost considered a myth. They used to have academies and facilities but nothing lasts forever. Specially the good things.

I am. Everyone in my world, outside of us Magicians, thinks magic's a lie too. And you're damn right they don't last. Assholes like the Beast are always interfering.

My soul is now into a jewel. Taking that into account, I think that there's weirder things that magic happening around here. It would be really hypocritical of them to complain.

They did. I'm not exactly interested in testing if that's true or not.

Similar thoughts. I've never lived on a giant space turtle before but aside from the soul-jewel bond the rest of things aren't so different from my homeplace. You see a lot of strange worlds and creatures traveling the galaxy, I lost the ability to be surprised two decades ago.
