[The feed shows a man in his early thirties wearing a bright orange pilot suit, with some bruises in his forehead and cheekbones. Poe is not new to myriad sorts of alien creatures but beings living on a giant turtle and between reality planes is a whole new level of 'special'. That said, he had taken the news surprisingly well and now is giving the camera a smile.]
It's been a long time since I had vacations - over a decade, probably. Please, someone tell me this much cold is not the norm here. I'm having flashbacks of a mission I had in Hoth years ago and I actually would like to keep all my fingers intact.
I'm also looking for a friend, we seem to be losing each other a lot lately...It's an astromech droid, a white an orange BB unit. It's terribly cute and it knows it. If you happen to see it, I'd appreciate a call.
[The rest of the message is changed from video to text, and written specifically in Aurebesh.]
Hello. This is Poe Dameron, callsign: Black Leader.
I might as well find out if there’s someone else here from home. The Galaxy is not as much of a big place as it looks like.
If you can read this, please let me know.

[She's also heard of it for other reasons, but those reasons are too complicated to articulate in this setting. Also she is totally on the side of the Resistance.]
It is, for one reason or another. No one really knows why.

[Galen had told him about Vad...Anakin but Poe is having trouble believing it.]
That means you have someone who understand you here at least? That's always a good thing,

[Or seen movies of. Pepper smiles broadly at him.]
Yeah - two of my friends from home are here as well and that definitely helps. But if you stay here long enough you kind of end up with a diverse set of friends by default. I'm Pepper, by the way. Welcome to Keeliai.

[Knowing that would break Poe's brain even more.]
It makes us feel less alone, that for sure. And making new friends it's always a good thing, we never have enough of those. Nice to meet you Pepper, I'm Poe Dameron.
Have you been living here for long?
no subject
[Yes, see this is why she doesn't mention it. Pepper smiles at his introduction.]
A little over a year. It went by a lot faster than I thought it would.

[Thank you Pepper, you are too nice.]
That's a lot. I'm glad to hear you at least have friend from your world to keep you company. I'm not sure I can spend that long here considering the troubles we got back home.

[Such as seeing her mother, for example. Given the folks from Star Wars that she's seen popping up, it's probably a lot more disconcerting for Poe.]
It's helped a lot to have them here, yeah. And I hate to break it to you, but you may not have a choice about how long you spend here. We haven't figured out how to control coming and going yet - but whenever you do go back, it'll be like no time passed at least.

[If Poe knew, he would totally agree with Pepper. He lost his mom when he was 8 and Shara Bey was one of the reasons why he became a pilot.]
I'm starting to realize that not all the people from my world who's here are from the same past or future, though. Now, that is worrisome.
That's...[Weird as well. Poe should be used to weird.]...strange but thank you for the warning,

[It's not that she doesn't trust Poe with the information, it's just a difficult topic for her to discuss.]
Oh, yeah, the multiple reality things. It happens. There was a woman here - she helped start the Welcome Center - anyway, we have the same name but she was a lot older than me, and a lot of the people in our lives were similar but she was from a totally different world.
You won't remember Keeliai when you go back, actually. I guess it makes things less abrupt, even if it sucks that we're going to forget people here.
no subject
[Completely understandable, Poe is still a stranger too after all.]
Maybe it was a future you? Force, I'm not sure if I am ready yet to meet another me from a different world but it could be interesting.
Probably for the best.

Well, our legal names were different, but we both go by Pepper. From what I've heard we're pretty sure she came from a separate world. I did get a letter that was supposed to be from my future self, though - a bunch of us did. The Dreaming does weird stuff sometimes.
