(The continent had not wasted his time; not utterly. A pale serpent is a lovely gift for any Parseltongue and the hand that strokes her head is gentle - a quality Lord Voldemort shows no one else.)

The journey might have been worthwhile simply to meet you. (He speaks in the hissing language that separates those of Slytherin's blood-line from many other Witches and Wizards.

What might shock those watching is... The serpent hisses back, looking up at, presumably, his face (though he keeps his features cloaked and hidden).)

As the Turtle awakens, its power grows exponentially. I am intrigued by its origin. Was it born thus?

No matter. I have sought and taken Magic before. I shall do so again.

(Perhaps traveling to another world will not be a waste at all. He grins to himself as he imagines everyone in his world falling at his feet in obeisance.)

Interesting. [Something about this sounds familiar, but he just shrugs it off.] Might not find that many snakes around here... And those you do, it might be like trying to get someone who only speaks Spanish to understand English.

[And a grin, there.]

You're right. My apologies. It's just I assumed, what with the turtle still being unconscious, that the only way to take the magic would be to steal it.

((OOC: If the above isn't okay, just let me know. Peter won't act any more on it than just a "Oh, that sounds familiar... but it doesn't matter" reaction.))

Well, who knows when you're dealing with dimensions. They could speak the snake version of kedanese for all we know.

[He's fine with the heavy silence, he has stuff he's tinkering with.]

Well, that depends on the magic. One man's magic is another man's science.

...I don't know what "Muggle" means. [He's going to assume that it's derogatory.] But there's quite a bit science can prove regarding so-called magic.

Well, yep. That's me. Although, I did temporarily gain the ability to bend space and time to my will... does that still make me a muggle?

[He's grinning there.]

And my explanation is dependant on whether your magic is a rare thing, or has a lotta people who can use it.
