[A man sits back in his chair after he activates the feed. He's an older man, late forties, early fifties, with golden-blond hair and a beard that resembles a lion's mane. His glittering green eyes are framed by his easy smile.

When he speaks, his voice is smooth, refined, a man of learning and stature, if ever there was one, but his tone is kept neutral. Almost carefully so.]

Good morning. My name is Alek Reyne, and, quite clearly, I am new to the city. I come to you in order to find out what manner of occupation is available to... I believe we're called Foreigners, correct?

[The name doesn't sit right with Alek, but... When in Pentosh?]

I thought it would be best to secure gainful employment as soon as possible. To elaborate, my skills as a fighter are, perhaps, the most pertinent. I am a trained knight, and have, alas, seen many battles and wars pass through my homeland that my skills are kept sharp. I also have experience in law enforcement.

[A pause.]

As for less... violent skills, my family are experienced in handling gold and silver, we are well known for our business enterprises and managing accounts. King's Counter, I may not be, but I know how to balance books and run things smoothly.

If what I have said entices someone, feel free to contact me. I will be happy to demonstrate anything that I have said on request.

I'll admit, this... technology is not something I am used to, so it may be worth visiting the hotel for a speedier response. I will usually be found in the common areas.

Well, I am pleased to hear that, my lady. War oft brings nothing but strife, though I will admit to the economic boons it sometimes brings.

[At the mention of keeping it in the family, he frowns, understanding, but still not particularily liking the answer.]

That is a possibility, yes. But, as you say, my lady, war and fighting isn't as prevailant in this world.

I will, no doubt, think of something. Until then, I have ways of surviving.

[Some of the gold he had on his person would, no doubt, help with bartering. He just hopes gold is gold, no matter where he is.]

[ It's the mention of knight that draws Kylo's attention, though he quickly realizes it's not his kind of knight. Still. Another soldier. Interesting. This place keeps pulling in fighters, though there is little need for them right now. ]

There is a police force, if you're looking for employment in law enforcement.

Police...? I assume they are similar to city guards?

I'm not familiar with this term, but they are guards. They enforce the local laws and apprehend those who break them. You will see them patrolling the city. Their commander is a Foreigner called Valdis. [ And look, he manages to remain neutral while speaking of her. ]

Then, yes, they are similar to the Goldcloaks of King's Landing.

[This is more of an affirmation to himself.]

This Valdis, where would I find him, ser...?

(This will not be a useful video by any means, let it be known. Percy looks completely, genuinely enthused though, his own sea green eyes practically glittering.)

(No, seriously. There's not a lick of mockery or doubt in his voice. It's seriously so cool. He's met a lot of different type of fighters but most of them were originated from a Greek perspective. No knights for Percy Jackson.)

[There are some words the young man uses that Alek doesn't quite understand, but the meaning is felt. The older man chuckles.]

Yes, I am a knight of Westeros, as well as a member of a noble House. [A pause.] Titles, though I would not have thought them valid here... Ser is generally appropriate.

(At least there will be a fair exchange of misunderstood words. Percy mouths the word 'Westeros' but it doesn't ring a bell. He's not great with maps but he definitely knows that's not some small, unknown country. Definitely not.)

Well, you're still a knight, aren't you? So the title still applies. At least I'd think it would. Maybe if you were a king it wouldn't because kings need, like, people to rule. But doesn't a knight just- what? Need to protect?

(That's what Percy's garnered from the stories anyway. Either way, he is so using the title. It sounds cool anyway. Ser.)

So, you said you're pretty good at using a sword? Are you willing to maybe train with someone?

A knight is sworn to protect, yes, and uphold the faith of the Seven. At least, where I'm from, that is.

[Knights of different realms may differ.

He then chuckles at Percy's questions.]

I, mayhaps, be able to be convinced, yes.

A trained knight? [ that definitely piques her interest. ]

Where I come from, there used to be knights that were of an Order that was meant to protect the people. They were called the Jedi.

Whom did you serve, in the place you were from, as a knight?

[Rey may feel the older man's gaze linger on her, as though contemplating her, before he shifts slightly to answer her question.]

I served my King as a member of the City Guard of the capital. It was my duty to command the men guarding one of the gates into King's Landing... As well as whatever else His Grace commanded.

[Which wasn't much. You can say one thing about King Baelor, he wasn't about seeking war. Prince Aemon, however, liked to find small conflicts to keep the knightfolk occupied.]

A guardian of the city. Was it many people who lived there?

Did you have to defend them against enemies?

King's Landing is one of the more populous cities in Westeros. I think only Lannisport stands close.

And I have fought to defend the Seven Kingdoms throughout most of my career, my lady.

[Valdis usually didn't eavesdrop on the conversations of others, but the sound of her name coming from the unfamiliar man on the console piqued her interest. After a few moments of thought, she approached him, her tone casual when she spoke.]

I hear you're looking for me.

[Alek turns in his seat, giving the new arrival a cursory glance up and down, before allowing his features to settle into a slightly puzzled frown.]

You said my name?

[She smiled, noting his glance while pretending she didn't notice it.]

Well, not so much lost as... outdated, I suppose. There are plenty of stories of knights, I've read many of them, but to meet one in person!

Ser Alek Reyne, am I correct in assuming you serve the Iron Throne of Westeros? [Certainly not a current King. That is promising for him and for her.] Are you familiar with the Targaryens?
