[Klaus appears on screen, looking decidedly frazzled. He's in his gardening apron, his hair is disheveled holding a spade. Behind him is the greenhouse which is a veritable wall of, well, green. And brightly coloured flowers.]

My word, has anyone else experienced a sudden surge of plant life? These should not be as far along as they are - half these seeds I only just planted a week ago.

There is quite an abundance of... well, everything, so I would be delighted to give away any potted plants to anyone interested. Also - [and here he gives a bewildered sidelong glance to his left] - zucchini. I'm honestly not sure how as I never planted any, but there is a mountain of zucchini if you like that sort of thing.

[Probably not, but the other explanation veered beyond the realm of science. Which was not her strong suit.]

Not if such effects are not generally instantaneous.

Although...alternately, are you certain you are the only one with access to your garden? Perhaps someone else planted seeds for those zucchini you mentioned.

[Or the fact the stuff gets everywhere regardless of whether or not you've planted it or even if it actually even exists in the world you're in or not.]

But not the rapid growth rate. Although... I have noticed many of my potted flowers had started blooming out of season about a week ago.

[Granted, there were any number of logical explanations to explain the zucchini. Which was, perhaps, why Aya chose to zoom in on it first. As for the rest of it...she was...still attempting to process a probable solution.]

Unfortunately, without further research and analysis, I cannot offer a more satisfying answer at this time.

Ah, I doubt it's anything to worry about. I was simply curious if anyone else had experienced something similar.

This world often seems to draw its happenings from power sources that defy many laws of science.

Being at a loss for a sufficient explanation does not necessarily mean one doesn't exist. Even magic adheres to some laws. Hopefully more information presents itself.

But one form of magic does not necessarily adhere to the same rules as another.

This is unsurprising as the nature of most magic is rooted in the will of the individual. Even within similar schools there is considerable variation among individuals.

May I ask, do you have passing familiarity with Earth's art periods?

I do not.

Ah... Hm. That makes this a little tricky to explain. Do you care much for any sorts of arts - music, painting, sculpture - perhaps something from other planets?

If you are asking whether or not I am capable of appreciating the subjective aesthetic beauty in visual and aural creative works of various cultures....then yes.

I do not possess much knowledge on its history or objective significance, but I understand the concept and reasoning why many favor them. They are often quite pleasing.

[China raises an eyebrow at him.]

Darling, if you try to give me zucchini we shall have a problem, but a flowering potted plant wouldn't go amiss.

[Klaus lets out a downcast sigh.]

That tends to always be the reaction when one has excess zucchini. Alas.

[He grows thoughtful for a moment, tapping his chin.]

Still, a potted plant... [Klaus brightens as his eyes settle on something off camera.]

Ah - I have just the thing! Though I did not realize you had interest in plants.

Do you have a great deal of experience with excess zucchini?

[China sounds amused, indulgent.]

I have no particular interest for their own sake, but plants can provide a certain color to a room.

It does tend to pop up unexpectedly, regardless of whether or not one wants it to.

Still, that's beside the point. Have you any particular preferences in colour when it comes to flowers?

[China files zucchini under 'annoying' and resolves to ignore it, or sneak it into the gardens of her less threatening enemies.]

Not yellow or orange, I think. Red only if it's a true color, not muddied.

Understood. I will deliver them directly then.

[Oh China what have you gotten yourself into? Klaus is all too eager to share his passion for watching grass grow. But hey, you get some pretty blue orchids out of it at least.

[Klaus really has chosen lovely colors.]

Regrettably, I do not know what Yellow Comet is. Are you perhaps from a time when space travel is more common?

More common than in Keeliai? Certainly.

But we haven't been beyond the solar system thus far. Most of the space program is just getting satellites in orbit, and unfortunately, Orange Star has most everyone beat in that regard.
