[Shiny New Handheld Device] [Video]

[Klaus appears on screen, looking decidedly frazzled. He's in his gardening apron, his hair is disheveled holding a spade. Behind him is the greenhouse which is a veritable wall of, well, green. And brightly coloured flowers.]

My word, has anyone else experienced a sudden surge of plant life? These should not be as far along as they are - half these seeds I only just planted a week ago.

There is quite an abundance of... well, everything, so I would be delighted to give away any potted plants to anyone interested. Also - [and here he gives a bewildered sidelong glance to his left] - zucchini. I'm honestly not sure how as I never planted any, but there is a mountain of zucchini if you like that sort of thing.

...is there any scientific possibility that the recent change in geographic location could lead to such a botanical anomaly?

[Probably not, but the other explanation veered beyond the realm of science. Which was not her strong suit.]

Not if such effects are not generally instantaneous.

Although...alternately, are you certain you are the only one with access to your garden? Perhaps someone else planted seeds for those zucchini you mentioned.

[Granted, there were any number of logical explanations to explain the zucchini. Which was, perhaps, why Aya chose to zoom in on it first. As for the rest of it...she was...still attempting to process a probable solution.]

That is...interesting.

[Nope. She had nothing. Not yet.]

Unfortunately, without further research and analysis, I cannot offer a more satisfying answer at this time.

Yes, I am well aware of this.

This world often seems to draw its happenings from power sources that defy many laws of science.

But one form of magic does not necessarily adhere to the same rules as another.

[Thus, the never-ending frustration. Just when she thinks she might have learned all there was to know about one form, it no longer becomes relevant.]

I do not.

[Much as she wished she could have claimed even a passing familiarity...such topics were not deemed necessary knowledge to the Guardians, and thus, had never been installed in her databse. And Hal Jordan was hardly one to go to for advice on such matters.]

If you are asking whether or not I am capable of appreciating the subjective aesthetic beauty in visual and aural creative works of various cultures....then yes.

I do not possess much knowledge on its history or objective significance, but I understand the concept and reasoning why many favor them. They are often quite pleasing.

[China raises an eyebrow at him.]

Darling, if you try to give me zucchini we shall have a problem, but a flowering potted plant wouldn't go amiss.
inkulcation: (just a little)

[personal profile] inkulcation 2016-11-17 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have a great deal of experience with excess zucchini?

[China sounds amused, indulgent.]

I have no particular interest for their own sake, but plants can provide a certain color to a room.
inkulcation: (i know what i'm doing)

[personal profile] inkulcation 2016-11-21 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
[China files zucchini under 'annoying' and resolves to ignore it, or sneak it into the gardens of her less threatening enemies.]

Not yellow or orange, I think. Red only if it's a true color, not muddied.
inkulcation: (you're adorable)

after delivery?

[personal profile] inkulcation 2016-11-29 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Klaus really has chosen lovely colors.]

My dear, these are gorgeous, and I don't say that lightly.
inkulcation: (then she smiled)

[She smiles at him, gently stroking the edges of the petals.]

They do. You have a practiced eye.
inkulcation: (i know what i'm doing)

[personal profile] inkulcation 2016-12-06 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not in the habit of idle flattery, my dear.

[It's the faintest bit dismissive. China means what she says to him, in her way.]

How thoughtful of you. I shall.
inkulcation: (you're adorable)

[personal profile] inkulcation 2016-12-06 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hm.

[China gives him a very small smile. It's more genuine than most.]

Of course. I'll see you again, my dear. Perhaps for tea?

Free food wouldn't go amiss at the shelter.

[ She's doing all the books now, so yeah. Opportunity! ]

Thank you! We appreciate it.

I take it you like gardening?

[ This was the Klaus that took over the hotel. She was curious, even though she was still grieving Anton's disappearance. ]
commandandcontrol: (awkward)

[personal profile] commandandcontrol 2016-11-20 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
I take care of a couple Bonsai. Not super fond of being outside in the dirt, personally.

Reading is complicated and video games are right out.

I'm learning some Kedanese though, so that should help with the latter.
commandandcontrol: (business)

...former, not latter

[personal profile] commandandcontrol 2016-11-28 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
I do!

Those and tactics games. Macro organization, that kind of thing.

[ And shippy visual novels... ]

You were well off back home too?

[personal profile] commandandcontrol 2016-11-30 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not familiar with it, but that doesn't surprise me. There don't seem to be a lot of Proper Nouns that my world shares with other people's here, even there are other similarities.

I'm the daughter of the emperor of Yellow Comet. The only child, actually.

[ She'd sometimes wondered what having a sibling would be like, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. ]

More common than in Keeliai? Certainly.

But we haven't been beyond the solar system thus far. Most of the space program is just getting satellites in orbit, and unfortunately, Orange Star has most everyone beat in that regard.

Zucchini?

[Interesting. But not a bad thing, by any means.]

Hmmm... well. If you let me have some of it, I can bake some bread with it. It's pretty good, if I do say so myself.
luckyspots: (pic#10376748)

[personal profile] luckyspots 2016-11-29 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, it's nothing. But it's definitely easier to get down that way.

[Do people even eat raw zucchini? Is that a thing? She's not sure.]

You might even change your opinion on zucchini a little.

[personal profile] luckyspots 2016-11-30 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[She can't help but laugh a little.]

I guess not.

[On a more serious note, however--]

Still... I wonder where they all came from.
