[In her whirlwind of a return, it's a while before Marinette finds herself a place to access the network. Before she does anything else, she scans through the records and very quickly she finds what she needed to. Nothing she wanted to see, but... there it was. Her emotions are all over the place. In her own little rush, she probably doesn't seem okay herself.]

Uh-- oh! Hey everyone!

[Marinette waves quickly at the screen, smiling awkwardly.]

Ugh. So... I'm okay. Just in case anyone was worried-- not that I think anyone was really worried, I just...

[Breathe, Marinette.]

Sorry, this is just all kind of crazy. I can't believe I just disappeared like that. But, uh-- I'm back?

[That probably has to be the worst reunion speech of all time. Seriously. But for the next part she has to dig into some of that Ladybug strength that tended to elude her in her everyday life.]

And Adrien!!! If you can hear this-- [She huffs. Wait for it...] If you were trying to forget me, I swear to god I'll never forgive you.

[Liar. But she is mad. With good reason, in her humble opinion!]

But wait, it's Marinette!!! She's here, and she remembers being here!!! More to the point, she's come from...wherever she went and is unscathed, and also she remembers!!!! ]

You're back!!! And you're okay!!!

[He's...selectively ignoring that other part for now. Maybe if he ignores it hard enough it will go away. He just looks absolutely delighted she's back.]

I was worried. Where did you go? I looked everywhere for you. Did the Dreaming take you back home or something?

[...thank god. He's actually here. She wanted to remain positive but a part of her had still worried-- what if she'd missed him?]

I'm fine, I'm fine! I promise. I just got sent home for a while.

[But distract though he might, she hasn't forgotten what she saw.]

Don't change the subject though. What was that?

[But at least she sounds a little more concerned than angry... it's hard to be angry when Adrien is actually looking at her and-- it's complicated but she's really missed him.]

Oh...that's good. Is everything okay there?

[That counts as a subject change but he can't help himself. He knows he can't avoid this forever though. He clears his throat, the smile fading a little. ]

I was just- worried. I mean, you'd left and come back without memories before, and I didn't know if you'd not want me to know. You know. That.

[She's always been so private about it. He'd hate her to come here and not want him to know their biggest shared secret. If she wasn't ready for it, or experienced something that would have changed her stance.]

Oh, yeah! Everything's fine.

[That's information she'd never hold from him-- even if he was king of avoiding the important stuff.]

Listen. [She takes a deep breath.] I wouldn't have wanted to come back if I wasn't going to remember everything again. But even if I didn't-- I'm the one who made those decisions, memory or not. I'd never ask you to forget them... they're just as important to me too, you know? So... don't say something like that again, okay?

[At least home isn't in any immediate danger. That's...something. He almost asks after his father, but stops himself- Marinette wouldn't be able to answer that. Heck, he can hardly answer that at the best of times and they live under the same roof.

He'd much rather keep his crown and avoid the heck out of this, but something tells him he won't be able to keep it up. He rubs the back of his head, all smile, even a pretence of one, is gone now. ]

I won't. I'm sorry. I just- didn't want you to regret it, you know? Letting me know the truth.

[Because as far as he's concerned, he still doesn't think he's good enough for her. At all. ]

Adrien...

[She feels bad for making a big thing out of it all at once, but... in the end, it's probably for the best that they did have this talk. Because it was possible that one day it would happen to one of them and they might not be so lucky the next time. Now that it had, there were a lot of things she hadn't thought about before that she wanted to make sure she covered this time.]

Sorry. I guess I got a little carried away.

[But at least he should know by now to expect that possibility from her.]

But really... if it's you... there's no way I'd regret it. I promise.

[It was absolutely a talk that needed to happen. He exhales softly, because if there's one thing he will always have faith in, it's a promise that Marinette makes. She'd never lie, she hates lying. ]

...Thank you. I don't regret it either, you know, what I told you- not even a tiny bit.

[Not a single part of it. ]

Woah, hold up. You disappeared -- and then you came back?

[Is that normal? Does that happen all the time? It's important enough that Zelos even lets the instinctive flirting take a back seat.]

Oh, uh-- yeah. Actually...

[Marinette crossed her arms thoughtfully, head tilted to the side.]

When I first came here, Adrien told me I'd been here before. I didn't remember anything about it when he said that. Still don't-- not about anything before I came here last time, anyway.

[It's... complicated.]

[There's a brief pause before Zelos answers.]

Let me get this straight. First, you were here. Then you weren't. Then you were here again, but you didn't remember anything about the first time. And now you're back after disappearing a second time, but you actually remember what happened before that.

[An amused huff.]

Wow. Someone just can't make up their mind about you.

That's... pretty much it, yeah.

[Even she has to kind of laugh about it, even if it's also a little frustrating.]

Really. I wish they'd just give me a break.

Who knows? Maybe this time they will.

[Because ethereal beings in charge of entire worlds are just known for their altruism and empathy.]

Someone should really fix that problem, though. We can't have pretty girls just disappearing all over the place. Are you going to be okay?

That would be great-- but knowing my luck... well. I guess my luck here is better than at home sometimes, so maybe it will.

[She sure hopes so at least.]

[Like she's not sure she heard him right. There's not someone else hovering around her right--???]

[She's used to getting compliments like that from her best friend but not from guys.]

[Oh, she's one of those. Zelos's smile broadens and he leans his chin in one hand.]

Of course I mean you. I'm not talking to some other girl who disappeared twice, am I?

[Hm.]

Let me guess -- you don't hear a lot of compliments. Don't worry, I can fix that.

[Oh, Marinette. If you only knew; they'd have a very interesting conversation about memories. About feeling guilty over knowing things and, yes, wanting to forget. But only the important secrets. Never the person.]

You really remember? Everything?

[Midii! Boy is she glad to see you.]

Yeah. I didn't think that was even possible but-- well. I guess it really is.

[The feeling was mutual.]

Oh, it is. I've seen it happen before. [Not to put a damper on the joy of the moment.] But I'm glad it happened again.

Are you alright?

The first time I didn't, so... I didn't know what to expect. But i'm really glad-- I wouldn't want to come back without it.

[Was she alright?]

I'm... still a little frazzled, I guess. But I'm feeling better now.

Is there anything I can do to help?

[Frazzled was a pretty normal feeling, and even if she insisted she was better, some of that might have lingered. Inter-dimensional whiplash could be a heck of a thing.]

Hmm, well...

[She doesn't have to think about it too long, before she comes up with an answer.]

Food would be great. And I could definitely use a friend to share it with.

I can get you pretty much anything you want. As long as they sell it in one of the sectors, of course. And I can call Adrien for you if you're looking for someone to share it with.

[She wasn't saying it to tease--~~much~~--but because she figured the most familiar face of all would offer the most comfort.]
