[Video] - A Wild Tea House Appears (Not Really, but...TEA!)

[ Sheena appears on the screen, looking a little harried, but one gets the feeling that she's kind of used to it. Possibly enjoying it--if her smile is any indication. However, there's also a hint of a business-like attitude as she begins to speak. ]

Hello, everyone. [ The faint sounds of a restaurant can be heard behind her as she speaks. ] My name is Sheena Fujibayashi, and I would like to officially announce that I am the new owner of the Jasmine Dragon Tea House started by Iroh in the Sky Sector. [ She chuckles. ] And I'm not changing a thing! [ Except for maybe adding some lemon-style cookies to the menu.

She will admit, though, that she's a little behind in submitting the complete information (info page) to the city's government, but in the meantime... ]

Plus, we're hiring for a number of positions! If you've worked here before and would like your job back--no problem! However, experience isn't necessary. if you can prove to me that you can do the job you're applying for, then you got it.

I have several Kedanese employees, but I still need more managers, hosts, dishwashers and servers. [ There's a quiet tone in her voice that practically screams "if you can't work with the Kedan, don't bother applying". She's not having any of that. ]

[This takes some debate. However, Kratos is already doing work at the Guild, in the fields, and around the city. And part of him feels beholden to the fact that Sheena actually, somehow, considers him a friend.]

I can do some of the chores in the kitchen if you need a spare pair of hands.

[He can't remember the last time he's been in proper Mizuho teahouse, even as a guest.]

[ Well this is a little bit of a surprise. A pleasant one, but still a surprise. ]

I appreciate the offer, but aren't you working at the Guild?

[ Asks she of many jobs. ]

[Translation: he still isn't sleeping.]

[ And that's all she's going to say on the subject. ]

Well, what chores are you interested in? They can range from gathering the teas leaves, to making the teas, to cooking up the items on the menu.

[ Except for the pseudo-lemon cookies. Those are hers. ]

Making tea, cooking, dishwashing. I'm not bothered by any of them.

[Doing the house chores while Lloyd was a baby isn't all that long ago.

[... Although.]

-- I may prefer the tea and the dishwashing, depending on how many of your menu items involve tomato.

Okay then. [ A pause. ] Have you ever been in a Tea House before, Kratos?

[ This isn't your usual Tea Making. ]

And you might be glad to hear there are no tomatoes here on Tu Vishan. I think there's something close, but none of the dishes have them. They're mostly dumplings, wraps, and rolls.

Yes.

[A beat.]

But not since the Kharlan War.

[Mizuho wasn't precisely readily accessible after that, for various reasons.]

Ah.

[ Yep. No need to go into detail with her as to why the long absence from one. ]

Well, the last one I owned was based in a culture a lot like Mizuho. This one is similar, but has a few differences. [ Probably only noticeable to one familiar with either version. ] Kind of like the clothing here.

[As busy as Raine is, she can make a little time for this, and so there's a smile when she chimes in.]

Congratulations, Sheena. You've been working toward this for a while, haven't you?

Will you be making use of that cookie recipe you developed?

[Raine will have to stop by, naturally. Though it will be much faster if the cookies are in the offing.]

[She'll even promise to stay out of the kitchen.]

Thanks! [ She chuckles sheepishly. ] Yeah, I have been. To be honest, at first, I just wanted to work there, but I kinda missed running a Tea House.

[ She has to laugh. She had a feeling Raine would ask about those. ]

Of course! They actually go quite well with some of the teas.

[ Like maybe the tea they had on their "kidnapping"?

And she can go into the kitchen, but no touching! ]

[Raine perks up, notably even more interested.]

It seems to suit you. I'll come by in the next few days.

[ Yeah, she can see that perk, there. ]

"Suit me"? Hnh. I guess maybe it does.

[ She hadn't really thought of it like that, but it is a place she feels comfortable. ]

Of course I'll let you know if I need anything. [ outside of the kitchen. ] And I can't wait for you to come by. [ A beat. ]

Raine, when's your birthday?

[Raine nods agreement. It really does; Sheena seems to thrive on managing the place.]

Good. I'd like to be able to help.

[And keep busy. Raine's face flashes faintly regretful at Sheena's last, though.]

I... don't remember. I usually mark another year with the beginning of spring, however. Why do you ask?

[ Almost like being Chief of a Village. Only with paperwork and adding machines.]

[ Whoops.

Sheena's expression becomes understanding. She doesn't know hers, either. She had to do some calculating to come up with the date she had in Atia and here. ]

I understand. But I would say spring has arrived. Wouldn't you? [ She grins. ] Because how else can you have a complimentary birthday meal at the Tea House?

[ For some, this would be nothing more than business; for Sheena, it's because of who she is. ]

[So many of them are foundlings, one way or another.]

[Sheena's grin, though, inspires a small smile of Raine's own.]

I suppose I can't argue with that. Thank you, Sheena.
