[Penny's leaning back in a cafe chair, feet up on what's presumably another chair as he clicks on the video. He's casually smoking a cigarette. Chilling. He sighs, as if this is such a chore.]

I told some little teenage mutant nerd turtle I would pass on a message, so here it is: If you're a foreigner, and you adopted a turtle.. or you birthed a hatchling, or..? It wasn't very clear. Whatever. If you were some kind of parental turtle figure, Quintet- Quantum? said they're all doing fine and not to worry.

Even though they're basically playing on their mom's grave, which is a little weird to me, but maybe turtles dig that, I don't know.

I'm sure you'll have some dumb questions I can't answer, but go ahead.

[He takes another drag on his smoke and posts the video.]

[This gets Raine's attention immediately, where she usually only pays the network a cursory glance to be sure there are no emergencies.]

You spoke to one of the hatchlings. That was all there was to say?

They're all good. Q told me. He said they left a message with Earl in Zehora for you guys, that they're looking for something.

But they were inspecific as to what?

[She sighs.]

Did I say it was all? That was the message I was supposed to pass on, so I did. You're welcome.

I called it up on its shell phone.

[He doesn't appreciate your puns, Penny.]

Then I might have an idea where they are.

Where SunnyDee was put down. That mean anything to you?

[Gene frowns, looking a little puzzled, and then nods, a look of understanding passing across his face.]

Great. So how do we turn the turtle around?

[Dryly:] If we knew that, we'd all be a lot happier. Tu Vishan does what he wants.

I suppose we could try to tell him, but that might be dangerous.

Tell him how?

Psychically. It takes a lot of energy; people have to band together in a large group to try. His mind is more expansive than any of us can comprehend. He speaks to us through dreams sometimes. If we're lucky enough to hear from him like that, we can tell him then. Otherwise, this would be quite the endeavor.

[Midii's heart nearly leapt into her throat when the message came onto the screen. So much so that she barely registered the 'mutant nerd' part, instead focusing on the part that this man was claiming to have spoken to the baby turtles.]

[...no, they weren't babies anymore, were they? At the rate they'd been growing, they had to be around her age in turtle years by now.]

The turtle you spoke to...he didn't mention the name Riva at all, did he?

[No, of course not. She'd half expected the response, but that didn't mean she wasn't still disappointed.]

One of the turtles. I...me and a couple others raised her from the moment she hatched, but I haven't seen her since before we went into the Dreaming world to fight Malicant.

It said they were all together and doing fine. I'm pretty sure yours was a part of that.

I'm pretty sure, too. Sometimes...if I concentrate hard enough...it's almost like I can still sense her. So I know she's okay.

I just...wanted to know how she was doing. That's all.

[She seemed almost embarrassed by the sentiment, head dipping down slightly.]

She's doing good.

No, I mean, how's she's getting along with her siblings, how she's eating okay, if she's--

[Here, Midii caught herself, and seemed to instantly regret her response. She glanced up at the screen apologetically before her head lowered even further.]

I'm sorry.

I shouldn't be bothering you with any of this, should I?

No. But you already started, so you may as well finish.

[There was a long pause on Midii's end. He'd offered to listen (sort of), yes, but...she still didn't want to unload everything on him all at once. It wasn't fair. So she had to think of the most succinct way of putting the way she was feeling. And why.]

When I was a little girl, I had three brothers. Mama was...gone....after Michel was born, and Papa was sick and so I had to help take care of them. And I did. I did everything I could in order to make sure they were safe and had food and whatever else they needed.

It's kind of the same with Riva and the other Turtles. Only...it's like the bond is even stronger. Ever since they hatched. Maybe before then. I don't know. All I know is that I still feel connected to her, even though we've been apart for so long and she's so far away. Especially after what Malicant did to her siblings...I can't help worry.

[It's mostly Midii's presumed age that has Penny refrain from being a complete asshole. And maybe he understands just a little bit.]

Then they'll be stronger together. Trust them to take care of each other.

[That still wouldn't stop her from wishing they'd just come back, but...she nodded anyway. He was being kind enough that it didn't seem fair to argue.]

It will certainly be a weight off a few shoulders to know they're alright. Did they clarify why they were visiting their mother's grave?

No, I'm simply surprised. It's been quite some time since there had been any news of them.

A... peculiar place to live, to say the least. But perhaps things like that are different for turtles.
