[ Sheena's broadcasting in voice so no one can see how tired she is between work and keeping Gnome around for as long as she possibly can so he can work.

But it's still pretty obvious in her voice--which doesn't seem quite as robust as usual. As if she's trying not to yawn. ]

Ummm... This will probably sound like a strange question, but has anyone ever had separate dreams combine into one dream--yet still be totally real at the same time?

I've never had anything like that happen before I came here...

[ Whoops. Maybe this is something she should have discussed with Raine? ]

I rarely remember my dreams.

Sometimes I can remember bits when I wake up, but they're gone by the time I'm fully awake.

[ Sheena sounds puzzled when she responds. ]

Not even the good ones?

Presumably? I'm not entirely sure I get 'good' ones or 'bad' ones. Theoretically no dream is good or bad, since both types of dreams serve practical functions.

[ She's intrigued. ]

What practical purpose does a bad dream have--other than making you not want to get out of bed?

Well- admittedly this is venturing into personal opinion and conjecture rather than hard facts but... why do nightmares exist if they aren't useful for something? Our brains are complex mechanisms.

I suppose it's possible that it's just a strange glitch of our evolution, but... are you familiar with the concept of Yin and Yang?

Uh, nope. Can't say I have.

[Sheena sounds tired. Is that cause for concern? She actually has to sleep, so she'll end up doing that at some point whether she wants to or not.]

[The concern in Sheena's voice puts Zelos on the defensive.] Of course I've had dreams! Just not any weird ones.

Actually, now that you mention it -- are you talking about being in someone else's dream?

[Because that, he's done. And that was weird. But it had been Aly's dream, Aly's memories -- not his. No combining of anything there.]

Really? [Skeptical brow.] That's a weird question to be asking if everything's fine.

[ Don't be so defensive, Zelos. You know how she is about her friends. They > Her. ]

Someone..else's dream?

[ Oh shit. The thought had never occurred to her, and she knew about it being possible. ]

I didn't think of that, but I doubt that's the case.

I'm pretty sure these are all my nightmares becoming one, and feeling pretty real for a few minutes after I wake up.

[ To the point that she has to relive each one separately to convince herself otherwise. ]

I'm beginning to think it's more than just being tired causing it.

[ Hey, he already knows she's lying about being okay. May as well go all the way. ]

Yeah, you know. You're somewhere you've never been before, and you almost get killed by another Foreigner because they don't recognise you at first. That kind of thing.

[This is not at all personal experience what are you talking about.

Sheena's explanation sobers Zelos up, though, and he pauses to consider.]

What else do you think's causing it?

[ Oookay. ]

Ummm, Zelos? That's um, kind of a specific, personal example there, you know.

Well, I think it may be the Dust in the soil where the greenhouses are.
