Hey. Captain Jack Harkness here, and I've got to say it's a pretty nice turtle you've got. She's not exactly where I was trying to get, but seeing as this place seems short on the killer reality tv shows...pretty minor quibble.

I've already met a few of the locals - thanks again guys, and sorry about those vegetables - but I'm always open to meet more people. Local, not-so-local, I don't really mind either way since it looks like I'll have some free time.

Other than company, all I'm in the market for right now's a job and maybe some tools, if someone's willing to lend them - I have a piece of tech that got broken in transit somehow, and I'd really rather get it back in one piece.

[He raises his left arm to show off a leather cuff with what appears to be a communicator inside. It's been fried.]

I'm sure we can work something out in exchange, I've been told I'm pretty good with my hands.

[He laughs a little, at his joke, and there's a moment of dead air after it. Just when the pause starts to get uncomfortably long he makes a show of clearing his throat.]

And oh, Doctor, Rose? [His smile tightens, just barely. Appears just a bit forced.] If you're out there, looks like I'm alive after all. Which I'm kind of hoping you two didn't know, because seriously? There are much nicer ways to let a guy down.

No, I just really, really miss being able to turn my brain off and veg. It's something you don't think about til you can't do it anymore. You know, don't know what you've got til it's gone, and all.

I guess you kind of do your own thing around here? There's a bar run by a Foreigner, it's pretty good. There's a bar in the Hotel, too, if you don't care to walk, but they don't do alcohol. Dunno if that's your thing. Mostly I work and hang out with the kedan. They can be pretty cool, when they're not pissed off at us for doing some dumbass thing.

You should try dancing sometime, if you're looking to turn off your brain for a while. From the sound of it they're pretty light on clubs around here but I'm sure there's gotta be music. [Please. Most cultures managed something with a nice beat though, so he was optimistic. Either way, he taps at his wrist strap.] If not I'll have some if I can get this up and running. You're welcome to join me if you need a partner.

Thanks for the tips. I'll probably check out that bar - the one with alcohol. Pretty sure they've gotta start calling the other one something else. [Jack laughs, easy and friendly.] Hey, no complaints about the locals here. Landed in their lunch and they gave me a ride. I'm guessing an uninvited tourist population's make anyone a little antsy. Especially from what they managed to fill me in on.

[Miles sighs.] God, I miss going somewhere with shitty dubstep turned up way too loud, but at least the drinks are interesting and the people are usually pretty. [Then he grins, a little teasingly.] Asking a guy out already? Man, this place attracts some forward people. [Himself included, usually.]

Okay, if we don't have any decent music this thing just got way higher on my list of priorities. [He didn't know if he had dubstep on there, but he was sure he could find something.]

Tell me that by interesting you mean 'strong'. I have noticed there are some lookers around here. [He winks. Forward? You've got him.] Forward? That? An invitation for a little friendly dancing at some undetermined future time once I've got my tech up and running? Oh, no, no, no. [Jack makes a little tsk noise, and smirks.]

When I'm being forward, trust me - you'll know.

[Miles raises an eyebrow, grinning. He likes you.] Oh, yeah. They can mix a mean cocktail here. No damn clue what's in it, but they taste good and some of 'em burn like hell going down.

[His grin widens.] Oh, really? You flirt with everyone, then?

[So far? That's definitely mutual. He's also very fond of the way that drink sounds.] Isn't that the best kind? I'd ask you to tell me the best ones but, well... [Jack smirks.] That takes away my excuse to try all of them.

Only the ones I wouldn't mind getting all hot and bothered with.
