Okay okay - question to all the Foreigners!

What are your favourite foods? And how are they made?

I swear this is important.

Also if somebody were, you know, writing a kind of story, which may or may not involve Foreigners, what's the rule of thumb for your biology?

...Asking for a friend.

[Zatanna wore a wide smirk on her face as she answered, her posture slack as she rested her chin in one hand, head slightly tilted in amusement.]

Vegetarian Taquitos. They were a staple from my childhood I never fully got over. Can't 100% replicate it here, but I've found a few recipes that come pretty close.

[To answer his first question. As for his second...]

Tell your friend they're going to have to be a lot more specific. Which system are they most interested in, for example? Digestive? Circulatory? Respiratory? Reproductive?

Anything with tuna in it. [Mmm, seafood.] And melon, but you don't really make melon. Not in any way I've ever seen.

[See? Zelos can totally be helpful to people asking weird personal questions for no reason.

Having said that, though, his eyes light up and he leans his chin on one hand.]
You're not planning a party, are you?

Cheese, beans, and vegetables, mainly. In a flat wrap made of wheat, I think.

[There was a moment's pause in which he received a strange look for the question before something dawned on her, and both eyebrows rose.]

Oh. That's right.

We've...okay, I've been here for what, five or six years now and I don't think I've known any Foreigners who got pregnant. Let alone actually had a baby. I get it now.

Melon fish? [That's a unique take on it. Zelos considers, then shakes his head.] Alright, maybe not anything with tuna in it. Most things, though. Most tasty things with tuna in them. Keep the melon separate.

[His grin widens.] Come on. If you're outsourcing dishes and how they're made, there's a good chance you want to make them, and no one makes a whole bunch of dishes unless they're throwing a party. Or... I don't know, obsessed with Foreigners. So which is it?

[The question just begs a non serious answer in Valdis' mind and she appears on the screen, a perfect smile on her face, eyes shining with mischief.]

Souls.

[As for the second question...]

And that is far more complicated than it sounds.

[Kyde, please.]

Did you seriously make a bet with someone over whether or not Foreigners lay eggs?
choiced: (THAT HAIR)

Obsessed is never the word obsessed people use. [Zelos says this with a knowing and sympathetic nod. He doesn't actually have a problem with it -- especially if it means someone's throwing a party.

A light shrug.]
What kind of tuna dishes can you make?

Fresh, though I've never tried them fried.

[A light giggle]

Anyway, you do realize that not all foreigners are from the same worlds, right?
redlightgreenlight: (confused)

I'll have to try it sometime.

[Except not.]

What, exactly, is it that you want to know about our biology?

[ Well now, this is a surprise. ]

I like curry. I add pineapple to bring out the sourness. [ She briefly winces. ] It sounds weird, but it's actually pretty good.

[ A pause. ]

Is that why you're asking about our biology, too? How we eat and digest food?
wellhello: (smile gentle)

Favorite food? [That was a tough one, considering it tended to vary from planet to planet. Still, it seemed like most of the people he'd spoken with were from Earth. He could swing with that.] Let's just go with a little thing a friend of mine turned me onto; Chips. You take a potato - this kind of root vegetable thing, cut it in wedges and fry it. Then you add salt. Something like that, anyway.

Well, the most general rule of thumb is probably 'we need air and water to survive.' If you're looking for more specific information, I didn't really go to med school. I can give you the sex-ed talk if you want that though.

[She politely waited until he was done with said boogie--mostly for her own amusement--before deciding to drop the bad news:]

Would this be a bad time then to mention that not all Foreigners reproduce alike?

I'm not saying there are any of us that do lay eggs, but...well, for example, I know at least one of us is a robot. Pretty sure she doesn't reproduce at all.
veinediron: (Wouldn't you like to know)

[Please have an amused old lady who has been watching this conversation with a mix of horror and fascination.]

Oh, don't worry. He's had one. It was very thorough.
