It has been brought to my attention that I've been working too much and need to be more spontaneous.

So that's what I'm going to do.

Starting later this afternoon, I've decided to take a spontaneous vacation.  Just for a couple days, of course--I'm not that irresponsible.  Don't know exactly where I'm going, don't know what time this weekend I'll be back.  But I wanted to at least give you all a heads up in case there was something you needed first.  I'll have maps and the latest updated pamphlets on the counter.  The doors to the main area will stay unlocked, and the Wards I have up will take care of the rest.

Otherwise, speak now,  because I can't exactly lug the network console with me to the beach.

I know that.

I think it goes back to how long it took for us to pick a representative. They took the delay as a sign of apathy or something. But, hopefully, we've managed to prove to them that taking our time just means wanting to do it right.

I sure hope so. Eventually, they have to see we don't mean them any harm or offence, right? That we're actually really looking out for them, too. This is our home, as well, if we like it or not.

I mean...I do think things will get better. Compared to some of what we've had to deal with in the past, this is almost nothing.

Yeah, some of those stories still give me nightmares. You guys lived through a lot of bad times.

[She left it at that, but was always willing to talk about it if someone asked. Not because she enjoyed talking about it, but because she'd learned from experience what happened when one withheld information. And, as one of the co-runners of the Welcome Center, it was kind of her job to provide as much information about this world as she could.]
