 Right, so I guess some of you might have noticed the thing with the dragons running around? Kind of noticeable and all.

[Danny shifts awkwardly as he tries to figure out what to say.]

Look, I didn't bring the amulet here. But I did recognize it. It's from my world. So I guess I kind of feel responsible. Is that a thing? Things from home following you here, I mean?

But yeah... Just for future reference. If you see something glowing a weird green color, maybe try running in the other direction instead of picking it up?

[ She shrugs. ]

I figured that if you dream of something, then the Dreaming picks it up... [ Her eyes widen. ]

Unless you had it on your mind without realizing it.

[Danny groans.]

That's even worse. How do you stop thinking about all the things that could show up here?

[ Sheena winces. That hadn't been the reaction she had been aiming for. ]

You don't. But if you think about everything the same way, they probably won't show up because the magic wouldn't be able to bring them all.

Kind of like trying to put the entire ocean into a small drinking glass at once.

....Or all of them could show up. At once.

[ She shakes her head. This is one thing she's sure of. ]

I doubt it. It would put too much strain on the magic and energy needed to do that. You might get one or two, but not all of them.

It takes enormous power to travel from one world to another.

Are you sure?

About which part? The amount of power it takes to travel from one world to another? Or about the strain on magic?

Uh, both?

Yeah, I'm sure. Think about it. The farther you have to go, the more power you need. You go from walking, to running, to finding a vehicle that can get your there. And getting from one planet to another takes a lot of power--no matter how you do it.

[ She pauses. ]

As for magic, haven't you ever used up too much of your power? Or your own energy doing something? You can't do something for a while, right?

Yeah, I usually fall asleep when that happens. [Even midflight, which is really awkward.]

So does the energy thing here work like other kinds of energy?

[ninjainviolet]

Yeah, sleeping tends to get your power back pretty quickly--not to mention cheaply.

[ She pauses. ]

You're wondering if the energy here will give out one day and we'll go home? Is that it?

[invisibill]

Yeah, kind of. Or you know, if that happens and we get permanently stranded here.

You know, Danny gets to say "I told you so" to Sheena...lol

[ Sheena sighs. ]

Sadly, that's the other possibility. But when it happened where I was before, the energy loss was noticed and it was decided that people could go home if they chose. Perhaps that will happen here.

He'll probably be too busy sulking to say it. guess who gets to go home before getting dragged back

[He was betting something like that had a trap somewhere. ]

Then he can say it when he comes back. :D

[ She gives him a wry look. ]

You're just determined to look on the bad side of things, aren't you?

It usually saves time.

[ She sighs again. ]

You can't be a pessimist all the time, Danny. If you expect the worst, that's all you'll get--or you can give up trying to achieve what you want.

And something tells me you're not exactly a quitter.
