[ Have one smiling ninja on your screens this morning. ]
Good morning, everyone! A few months ago, with the help of my friend Raine, I came up with something similar to an item back on my world: gels!
[ She then proceeds to describe gels, adding: ]
I know that some of the foods and herbs here are different, but I managed to get them pretty close to the apple and lemon flavors for physical healing, and the orange and pineapple flavors for restoring mana--or magic ability.
The sweeter-tasting ones heal the least amount, by the way, but are still good to have around.
And they do work! [ Just don't ask her how she knows. She hasn't even told her friends that. ] However, they don't completely heal, and they don't take care of poisoning or other effects like that; they're only a stop-gap until you can get the help needed.
I will be giving the KPD and the Healers' Guild a supply for emergencies.
[ You know, like when cultists attack?
She'll also be selling
them at the Jasmine Dragon for snacks and for those who just want something
for traveling. ] If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

No big.
I mean, I can heal magically anyway, so it's not quite a pressing need for me as it might be for some. But yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. We have a small welcoming kit we give out to newcomers if they arrive with nothing and no one to turn to, along with the stipend. If they want it, of course. A bit of medicine would be a nice addition.

Her eyes widen in pleased surprise. ]
You can? So can my friend Raine. Which means that the gels that help resupply mana might work for you, too! [ Almost infinite healing. ] Sure! I have no problems with doing that! [ A slight pause. ]
Incidentally, what's in the welcoming kits now?
no subject
[Preferably at a time when she could risk any adverse reactions. BEFORE it might be actually needed.]
Pepper was the one who originally got me started on the idea, I think it was. We've kind of gone through a few different ideas over time--at one point, I was even slipping in some of the Hotel's coffee since it just kept showing up--but for the moment...let's see... [She went over a mental checklist in her head.] We've got one spare change of clothes, shirt and pants, a few basic toiletry necessities...you know, some travel sized soaps and shampoos and the like...a couple bottles of water...a small first aid kit...an updated map of the city, with some particular areas of interest highlighted...and a small stipend, courtesy of the Merchants Guild.
I used to put food rations in there, but those had to be kept up with before they expired. Everything else lasts a long time.

Well, if any of the herbs here have helped you, then these should, too. [ She chuckles. ] Gels are a strange--yet good--thing. Part food, part medicine. Although, I wouldn't recommend eating them for an entire meal.
[ Too much of a good thing, you know.
The ninja nods as she listens to the list. ]
Those areas of interest--do they include any restaurants? Because I was thinking of adding something else to the basket.

[Maintaining diplomacy was kind of inconvenient at times, but there was nothing to say she couldn't recommend a few places personally. You know, if someone thought to ask.]
What were you thinking of adding?
no subject
[ She pauses. ]
I was thinking of including a couple of certificates for free meals for new arrivals, making it one less thing they have to worry about. [ And if other businesses add in, then it'll be even better. ]
no subject
Oh, no, that's totally different. If you're willing to give out free coupons for food, it's not the same as us directly advertising your business. We could definitely do that.
no subject
Okay! Good! I'll get some to you as soon as I can.
[ She remembers what being a new arrival someplace was like. Food and shelter are always primary concerns, and if a person can get a free meal, they can think a little better. ]
Anything else I can do?
no subject
Not that I can think of at the moment.
You can drop them off whenever. Even if I'm not here at the time, you can slip them under the back door. The ward will keep you from going in, but harmless inanimate objects can get through, no problem.
no subject
Okay. If you do think of anything, let me know, okay?
[ She reaches for a pad and pencil to make notes. ]
Okay. One question, though. These wards. Are they different at night? Because that's probably when I'll be around.
[ Ninja, you know. ]
no subject
I made sure to cast them so they're self-sufficient. They'd be the same regardless of the time of day, or whether I'm at home or out.
no subject
All right. Just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything "extra" for security at night.
[ which she'd totally understand. ]
And that sounds like all I need to know. I'll have those to you in a few days, Zatanna. I'll talk to you later.
