[Midii's lips were pursed together in concentration when the screen turned on, eyes turned downward. The tip of a writing utensil could be seen moving as she jotted down one last note before looking up.]

Something was brought to my attention recently. I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner, but it could be really important.

Allergies.

Is there anyone here who has them? Of things from home, or maybe of something you've realized you're allergic to here. Plants...food...metals...I'm curious to know.

Feathers. Which, when we have a lot of bird-creature appear here makes it a whole lot of not fun for me.

[Her eyes widened in slight surprise. Feathers...that was a new one.]

I would never have guessed.

Is it all feathers? No matter the kind of bird?

All feathers. I'm pretty much a sinus-y nightmare if go anywhere near one.

[She frowned at that. Disappointed--not at him, of course, but at herself. For not only having not noticed something like that before (although, in her defense, it wasn't as if there had ever been birds around when she spoke with him), but also because this right here proved how important her studies were. For moments like these, when she had someone she considered a friend who was affected in a way she should be able to help out in.]

When you were back home...did you take any medicine for that?

[And it absolutely doesn't go hunting down feathers, he actively avoids them. But hey, she knows now- maybe it'll help in the future. ]

I had antihistamines if it got really bad. But it was rarely that bad. I usually just avoided feathers. And birds...obviously.

[It was the word antihistamine that drew her attention most, and she even appeared to perk up.]

Hold on.

[With that, she dipped her head low and appeared to be frantically searching through her notebook, flipping pages with such fury it was a wonder they didn't tear. After several seconds, however, she came across the page she was looking for and smiled.]

Here! There is a plant. It's almost ironic, because touching it can actually cause symptoms very similar to allergic reactions--itching, swelling, hives, that sort of thing. But, if harvested properly, you can brew it into a tea that helps with a lot of respiratory issues as a natural inflammatory.

[This is the best news he's heard all day. He full on beams, because she might well have saved him from a future of horrible snuffles and breathing difficulties. ]

That's amazing! You are actually my hero right now. I know we don't have a ton of birds around right now, but you never know what the next Landfall will bring. This is great! Thanks, Midii!

[She didn't...blush, exactly, but her face definitely took on a sheepish look at the praise. It had never been something she'd gotten used to, no matter how many friends in keelai over time had given it.]

I can bring a small supply to your place, if you like. It'll just take me a day or so to prepare.

[He just gives her a hundred watt smile in return. She deserves praise, in his estimation. A lot of it. ]

That'd be a really big help. Then at least I always have some, just in case of feather-doom.

That's the idea, yeah. [Though her thoughts were a little less "feather-doom" and more "just in case"] I haven't figured out the exact expiration dates yet, but they should be good for a few months' at a time, at least.

At worst, I can always keep making you more.

That's great, I really do appreciate the time and effort. If there's anything I can do to repay you, just say the word and it's totally done.

[If she were more the joking type, she might have replied back with a sly I'll remember that for future reference. As it was, she just shook her head.]

This is the kind of thing friends do, right?

[She is far too good to him. He brightens considerably.]

You're right, it is the kind of thing friends do. I'm still really grateful. It's helping me out a lot.

Is there anything else you need help with?

[She did mean medically, although in hindsight to question was vague enough that it could refer to anything.]

No, I should be good. All other medical needs are met.

[He'll even give her a little thumbs up. He good. ]

[She refrained from a small bout of laughter at the gesture.]

I'm very glad to hear it.

[Although it was then Midii had one of those moments of sudden remembrance. One last thing she'd wanted to speak to Adrien about; coincidentally, a topic that came to mind even before their discussion of Allergies, but had been mentally pushed to one side in favor of the latter.]

Oh, wait--Adrien? Are you still there?

[He'd been moving to switch off his communicator, but came back on screen as he heard her voice again, offering a smile. ]

Sure am! What can I do you for?

[She opened her mouth, but paused when his expression processed...and promptly gave an awkward laugh.]

That's...kind of an awkward expression.

[His meaning was apparent enough, but it caught her off-guard because it was one she hadn't heard before.]

You-

[He pauses, considers. It's one Nino taught him, and he'd happily accepted it into his life without second thought. ]

Now that you say it like that it sure is. [Nino, why do you do these things to him. He's already a social outcast, he doesn't need HELP. ] Lemmie rephrase: how can I help you?

[That was better.]

Right.

Okay, so aside from medicines, one of the benefits to my studies is that I'm also finding new herbs for recipes. I wanted to try out some flavored breads with them, and I need someone to taste test them for me.

[She would have asked Marinette, but the girl lived in a bakery. Those were standards Midii wanted to make sure she could meet before daring to present her with any home goodies.]

I can bring over a batch with the medicine?

[BAKED GOODS!!!! ]

Oh wow, really?! I'd love to taste them, you know me and anything that comes from a bakery. I promise to give you a discerning taste test.

[He'll eat it ALL. ]

[Careful what you wish for, Adrien. She had access to a LOT of baking spices right now.]

That would be perfect.

Did you have any favorite flavors? I am trying some new ones, but I think I can manage a few sweeter breads, like the ones they make back home.

[Her France might be a different France than his, but surely they had to have some of the same flavors.]

[He will love it all. Baked goods are the food of the gods, in his humble opinion/ ]

Oh yeah! Sweet breads like home would be really nice. A reminder of Paris, you know?
