Enjolras Arrives

[Enjolras is shown on the screen examining the device for some time before he satisfies both his curiosity and his understanding that he is indeed on the network. Finally, he lifts his head and speaks. His voice is troubled in tone, but clear.]
My friends. Greetings. It’s been explained to me that we will are confined in this place, brought here with no consideration of our will and left here without the ability to leave. I do not choose to accept this, and I trust others feel the same. If you do, contact me and join me. We will gather as much additional information as we can, and see if we can’t take this upon ourselves to gain our freedom. Who is with me?
[He’s fierce as he speaks. His eyes and set of his jaw show his determination. He shuts off the device, again taking his time with it, and waits for a reply.]

You realize, right, that all you're going to do is be mocked?

[ Bucky is leaning against the wall near by, not worried at all. ]

[He hears the voice behind him and slowly turns. His expression is receptive, even innocent.] What out of what I said I would do would invite mockery?

Sir please keep in mind that the kedan are sentient beings and are in between us and our ability to leave. There's magic involved and they aren't at fault for it.

That you think you're the first to want to leave. That you obviously believe that others don't want to go home. That even I don't want to go home.

[Jackie looks uncomfortable.]

Not that I don't get how you feel, but...some of us don't want to leave, man. Some of us got nowhere to go.

[That's a diplomatic way to say 'some of us are dead', Jackie.]

[Gene pinches the bridge of his nose.] Oh, boy.

One, yes, that is the situation. Two, your acceptance of objective reality doesn't matter. Three, if there was an easy way to leave, don't you think one of us would have found it already?

[He sets his jaw and crosses his arms] That's what I intend to learn. I'm not going to rest on my laurels assuming that if there was a way to be found that someone would have found it, therefore doing nothing is an option.

Who are you, anyway? What do you know about what has and has not been found, [In spite of his candor the question is genuine.]

I am sympathetic to your needs. I never intended to make someone leave if it's their wish to stay. But, if you wanted to go somewhere a place could be found... somewhere you're not a prisoner.

I wouldn't harm an innocent being. I only wish to get back to my friends, Mademoiselle.

I would never ask someone to leave who wanted to stay. And no, I don't believe I'm the first. I just want to see what others know. Is that wrong?

[Tony smiles.] Enj! [Don't make him pronounce the whole thing. Please.] You were here before, but you must be a different version of you.

'Freedom' is... more complicated than you think it is. The Foreigners have been here for years and no one's figured it out yet. It involves a lot of heavy-duty magic.

And while that's laudable, you're still speaking to something you haven't been fully informed of. The person responsible for us being here isn't alive any longer. And unless you can resurrect the dead, you're stuck.

[Enjolras expression remains serious and unmoved.] Good. Then you can teach me about this place. [He folds his arms across his chest.] Tell me about this magic for a start.

[He appears concerned but unmoved.] And what brings you to that conclusion? I'm not taking that as given. I intend to verify and learn what I can?

I understand your eagerness to return to your home, however any possible way back does not seem likely at present. Forcing the matter may very well cause damage to these current planes of existence.

Thank you for your welcome, Monsieur Von Reinherz. I'm Enjolrs. Nothing is impossible for one who is driven. I do not intend to lay back and do nothing because someone told me it wasn't possible. But, at least let me say I do not intend for anyone to come to harm. But, since you seem to know about this place, why don't you enlighten me.

Excuse me but... you say there is a hotel?

You were here before, but if you don't remember it, you're probably from a slightly different alternate universe. We get different versions of the same people sometimes. I'm from a version of your world too, but a couple hundred years in the future. Don't worry, you'll get used to it. Have you been to the Welcome Center yet?

[Her initial expression on screen would be one of great surprise. A knee-jerk reaction, just about to call out his name before the content of his message fully processed. And she realized. The Enjolras she used to know would not have spoken of a revolution out of the blue after all the time he'd spent in Keelai. Only...if he had no memories of this world at all.]

...Monsieur, [She began, her accent very distinctively native to the language.] ...if you don't want to accept what's happening to you, then I understand.

But you must also please understand...for some of us...being brought here has literally saved our lives. This is our home. We've spent a long time making it our home. And we don't want to do anything that might ruin that for us.

I understand that there are many who do not wish to go. But, the fact that you cannot leave if you choose does, in fact, make you a prisoner. Choosing to stay does not make you a prisoner. It's not having the freedom to choose. I am glad that you are better off here. And ah... [What to say? Sorry about your death? That doesn't seem right.] You are not the only one who faces death upon return. But it's still up to us.

[He sets his jaw and looks irritated, his eyes rolling upwards.] Very well. I would like you to teach me about this place and why we're all stuck here.
