[Pete sure is broadcasting from his own home for once like every other normal human teenager for once. Mostly because he's still enforcing the strict "no masked messages in the house" policy for secret identity reasons, but also because this particular broadcast is more of a Peter Parker problem than a Spider-Man one.]
So, apparently a lot of people got invited to that Midwinter Masquerade thing...
[Aaand in keeping with being the odd loser out, now it's time for him to shamelesslybeg solicit plead ask around and see if anyone's actually looking for a date.]
I know there's not exactly a whole lot of us outsiders around my age, but if anyone's looking for a date...
[...okay, yeah, he kind of just let that offer fall off into oblivion. Good job, Pete. That sort of confidence is definitely going to require new locks on the door just to keep the stampede at bay.]

Yeah, I've been hearing a bunch of people talk about it the last few days.
It sounds like fun.

[HINT HINT, VILLAINOUS TYPES. CALM THE HELL DOWN AND LET HIM HAVE A LIFE.]
[video]
Why wouldn't you go?
[video]
[video]
I'm probably going to go alone.
[video]
[Oh man if she couldn't find a date, he's doomed...]
[video]
He never asked me.
[video]
[video]
Which is fine. I see him all the time, anyway. And I can just hang out with friends there.
video;
Not that I was a heart-breaker myself when I was around your age, but asking around like this doesn't usually give good results.
[Video]
[For example, if that happens, he knows not to trust any of you people anytime he's near an empty locker.]
Besides, I haven't met too many people my own age here, so this way's a pretty efficient way of doing things.
[And also slightly less desperate looking than going door-to-door asking if there's a date-less teenage girl living there]
[Video]
I suppose that's a way of seeing it. There's a couple of teenagers around though, I'm sure you won't have a hard time making friends at least.

[Kenny was still a jerk on occasion though. Flash more so. But there was way more neutrality than before.]
It's the rest of social interaction that I'm less-than-great with.
[Video]
You could try to simply go to the dance with a friend then, God knows my friend Lana was my salvation plenty of times.

[Ororo's pretty set in this opinion. Then again, she'd recently broken up when she arrived here and cynicism's in style.]

[A challenge. A question.]
It's not like we're all contestants on The Bachelor.
Re: video;
[HIGH SCHOOL NORMS! PEER PRESSURE! INSECURITY!]
It just feels weird showing up to something like this alone. And I get enough of that back home without having to double-dip on the back of some strange other-dimensional turtle.
Also, what's The Bachelor?
video;
Okay. What stops you from going with friends?
[Just making sure you're date-asking for the right reason.]
Or did all they disown you because you don't know what The Bachelor is?
[A wry smile.]
[ video ] /casually dropping into this all late-like
You're welcome to tag along with my friends and me. Far as I know, none of us have a date.
