Ωaudio | slightly backdated
[Backdated a few days, to little over a week and a half after the turtle ceases making landfall and is once again swimming.]
[Audio. She thought about doing a text post, but it would be easier on her to avoid that, and she can keep her tone neutral enough and with a genuine simple curiosity, while not having to worry about keeping her expression the same kind of nonchalant.]
For all the hype, I expected to find more on the mainland. I'm curious what anyone else might have stumbled on? Did anyone find any signs of life? And I mean beyond the monsters out for blood.
Also – is anyone well practiced or studied in Feng Shui? I have a basic understanding, but it's something I'm recently curious about.
[She pauses.] One last thing. Unless someone has heard from Yelena lately, it's safe to say she's no longer here.

If it's not something they can explain scientifically, they usually don't to know.

[She couldn't help her mind drifting back to them. Annabeth was right; all magic required balance. Fate and Chaos. Light and Dark. Same with the elements.]
action
We should keep each other updated, on related fronts. As much as we can or deem appropriate.
[And like it or not, Zatanna is the only person in the same figurative boat right now. Though the conversation has definitely left Annabeth more open to it.]
action
[The final piece of the puzzle. She was almost certain now that Annabeth had been asked the same thing, considering all the other similarities. But she couldn't be 100% positive until the older girl confirmed it.]
action
Anything else. There's a lot that might come of this - I expect Eva intends something, or why try?
[She can't bring herself to reveal that yet. She has to keep something for herself, for now. Though there's still that small hint of more.]
I can create an unhackable encryption, so if you need one in an emergency, for some reason.
action
I'm just curious as to why she would give it to somebody who'd never had any experience with magic before, and not explain how to use it.
[On the one hand, it could be interpreted as suspicious. Towards either Annabeth or Eva herself. It was also a genuine curiosity, however, so Zatanna allowed it to hang in the air for them both to ponder in the meanwhile.]
I...um...know a few hackers, actually. Good ones.
[No offense, Annabeth, but she's not exactly bragging about their skills. More like giving a friendly warning. Just in case.]
action
Maybe she thought I could figure it out. I don't have any magic, but I'm not unused to it. [It's said with every confidence that she will, whatever fire based magic it might have.]
I know. I've seen some of the good ones here. They can't break this one. [She might have studied the ones Damian has used in creating her own - and she knows he hacked into her computer. She up'd the security on it. Normally, she'd do a little bragging herself, but she sounds completely matter of fact while speaking.] I ran a program, it created an algorithm based on the consoles - I haven't tested it yet, but I'm pretty confident it can't be broken.
action
[It was a reasonable assumption. And she did trust Annabeth to find some answer on her own, powers or no.]
[But there was still hesitation about the encryption, evident by the way she bit at her lip. It would be one thing if she were just considering Batman and the others. So she kept a secret from them. Not a big deal. If they found out, it wouldn't be the absolute worst case scenario. She just didn't want Robin to know there were things she was keeping from him. Not after promising to keep him in the loop. Which she was. Mostly. Save one or two details...]
I'll...keep it in mind, okay?
action
[She catches the skepticism in the other girl's voice and nods. She's not here to pressure.] It's not meant to be anything... super secret. But if for some reason you need to speak to me, or I you, and we need to over the consoles, and freely, it's there. As an option.
action
Yeah, I know. Thanks.
Did you want to try testing the pendant now, or wait until another time?

action
You going with anyone?

The person I really wanted to be there with isn't going at all.
action
[Because gods would she kill to see Percy again. And she almost feels bad wishing he'd show.]
action
[Though she's now contemplating calling him that anyways. All work and no play makes her boredom bored.]
Bad as this is probably gonna sound, yeah, I'm glad he's here.
action
[But then she smiles a little wistfully at Zatanna's last remark, nodding.] No worries. I can understand that.
action
And if not, give me a call whenever you're ready to test the pendant.
action
[Because even regardless of what happens with the pendent... Zatanna could be a good and useful ally. Annabeth needs more of those again.]
action
[She's thinking the same thing, really. Even though she already had allies of her own, well...Annabeth was different. She knew of the one thing Robin didn't, which was something of a guilt trip and relief all in one.]
[Shooting the girl one last smile, she gets up to head for the door.]
