I asked some of my local peers to teach me. It is complicated, the language straining to contain unusual grammar and context of expression, but most eleven-year-olds simplify explanations enough that I was able to get started.
As far as I know, there is no trace of shared root. Which would make sense, as you pointed out, with the different evolution of the language, based off the different evolution of the species.
