In the interest of actually being able to read anything useful we might come across, rather than puzzling over it like it's the Voynich manuscript, I thought it might be prudent to attempt to gather together the work of those of us who have been trying to crack the language. I know there are at least a few—if there are resources to be shared, then we may all make a bit more progress. [He has been working on this for some time, and it is audible in every stubborn syllable.] At the very least, it can't possibly hurt.

[monstrous]

A person can be interested in something without being tempted. Like discussions on the weather, yeah I'm curious to know if you're talking about it, but I'm not dying to know.

[depicted]

[Dorian sits straight up.] I'm more interesting than the weather! Admit it, you were attracted to me!

[monstrous]

Sure I was, and I'm attracted to storms and snowfall and probably would think a rainbow was rather nice, too, if I happened upon one. [He is a Romantic, mmmm weather and nature]

[Romanticism is stupid.] No, definitely not. I'm not a snowfall, there are better metaphors for me, out of nature.

[monstrous]

[Toby laughs] Don't tell me you think you're a hurricane.

[depicted]

[Dorian scowls.] I'm not a natural disaster, either.

[monstrous]

Oh, and what do you think you are? A bit of a dust storm perhaps?

[depicted]

Not any of the above. [Out of nature! Out!]

[monstrous]

So you're humidity?

[depicted]

You are ridiculous. [He drops down to the sofa and puts a pillow over his face.]

[monstrous]

And you're a thunderstorm in the summer.

[Toby puts his hand over the pillow, pushing it a little further onto Dorian's face before finally pulling it away]

Are you coming out with us?

[...Dorian is willing to accept that as a compliment. He is somewhat mollified.]

Where are we going?

[monstrous]

I don't know, I haven't gone out to have fun and been completely good at the same time in - well, longer than I can remember.

[depicted]

I never said I wanted to be completely good. [He is almost offended at the notion.]

[monstrous]

Well then, what do the partially good do to fill up their nights?

[depicted]

Why don't we try going to the Turtle's head? I've never been.

[monstrous]

Yeah, all right. Exploring is something that good sorts do, too.

[depicted]

Then we'll take Aloysius out for a trip.

[The carpet thinks this plan is awesome, and settles around Dorian's shoulders as if to usher him out the door.]

I think he's all ready decided it's what we're up to, and we can't say no now.
