[The feed starts off with the type-written name and address of a noodle bar in the Metal Sector. Then he switches to video, because this typing crap is just a pain in the ass. He's always preferred talking to people face-to-face, and this's the next best thing. So you guys get to look at his ugly red mug, which isn't much compared to a lot of the kedan. Though not many kedan go out of their way to look like a living caricature of Satan himself.]
Anyone still interested in joining the team, first bowl of noodles is on me.
[Post is here for anyone who wants to attend and mingle.]
If you don't know what I'm talking about, I've been trying to open an agency responsible for researching and helping people deal with problems related to the paranormal on the turtle. I've worked in the field for over fifty years and dealt with anything from ghosts to vampires and everything in between. If you have questions, need help, or want to volunteer, just let me know. Or you can just stop by the office upstairs from the bar at that address. I'm still in the process of getting things set up, but don't be afraid to drop in.

[Far as Hellboy's concerned, the edges between science and the paranormal are pretty blurred. He has no problem with mainstream science, and a lot of the time proving things aren't what they seem is a big part of it.]
[voice]
...Christo.
[voice]
[voice]
audio;
[There's a smile in her tone.]
Been wondering where you've been. I'll come by later, deal?
audio;
Sure. I'll be there.
audio;
Catch you then.
[Ororo ends the connection on that -- she's got a bit of work to do, then a meetup to make.]
video;
[That is total, unequivocal joy in her voice.]
I didn't realise there were so many of us here!
video;
...Excuse me?
[He'll just give the kid a chance to explain, because as well-meaning as she seems, he doesn't usually take too kindly to being called a monster.]
video;
You didn't hear me? Maybe it's not working...
[The picture shakes as she thumps the side of it a few times.]
There, is that better? Can you hear me? [She says it louder than strictly necessary just to make sure it goes through.]
video;
I can hear you fine.
[This is probably going to be awkward.]
I just don't know what you're talking about.
[Or, well, he has an idea, but it's a very weird one.]
video;
I mean you're a monster! [She puts a hand on her chest.] So am I!
I can't count how many times my dad told me that monsters need to stick together, so we should be friends. That's if it's okay with you too.
video;
...Okay.
video;
Holy rabies, that's great!
[A beat.]
So... My name is Mavis Dracula. What's yours?
video;
[And those are fangs...]
Did you say Dracula?
video;
Yeah, daughter of Dracula. It's okay. [A shrug of her shoulder.] Everybody freaks out at first.
[IT AIN'T NO THANG, REALLY. Meanwhile, there are more important issues at hand, such as where a Hellboy comes from.]
Are you really from Hell? [Interested query is interested.] I've always wanted to go there!
video;
Wait. She's always wanted to... what?]
Okay... You know, I heard the weather in Tahiti's pretty nice this time of year. Great beaches. A whole lot less torture.
[Because she says it like Hell is the hottest new vacation spot. Jesus...]
video;
Ta-hee-tee? Is that like Ha-wee-wee?
video;
[He seriously has no idea what to make of this kid. How does he even...]
I have to say, you're not what I'd expect from the daughter of a Hungarian blood count. No offense.
video;
Yeah, I've heard that before. [A nervous laugh and a roll of her eyes.] Dracula's all "blah-bleh-blah" -- [She says while feigning the looking of an angry fangpire.] -- and gloom. It's really old-fashioned -- but, holy rabies! Don't tell him I said that!
video;
[Because if he ever met Dracula, he doubts they'd have much in the way of intelligent conversation. He'd be too busy pounding a stake through his heart.]
So you're more of a fashion-forward kind of vampire.
[That's... mostly a joke. But also sort of a question? Seriously. What is going on?]
video;
Kind of. I'm the next generation and I am way cool with both monsters and people.
[And don't you dare put a stake through her dad's heart. :C ]
video;
Yeah, so what do you do for blood?
voice;
... Is a lot of that going on? Paranormal problems.
voice;
Between getting psychically kidnapped, shape-shifting locals, and that whole thing with the zombies falling out of the sky, I say we have our fair share.
voice;
Connor Hawke. I'll lend a hand if it'll help.
voice;
[Probably not in the occult department, judging by his reaction. But there seems to be a lot of people volunteering with backgrounds in the military or law enforcement. Any of it is just fine with him. It's good to have variety.]
voice;
A few. A hoard of demons once in a while. Frankly, they looked a bit like you.
voice;
[A monster fighting monsters. Yeah, he's pretty aware how ironic that is.]
Demon hoards, though. Not something you hear about too often. Where I'm from those guys normally like to work alone.
voice;
[Humans fight humans. It's not too surprising.]
I'm not from the paranormal activity department from my world, but if I had to guess, they were more like big, red, angry minions. Mindless and serving one purpose.
[video]
[video]
[He says that kind of teasingly, because she can't really be serious.]
[video]
If it makes you feel better, I wasn't actually directly involved with the science. I was just the one investigating it.
[video]
Then that's fine by me.
[video]
My name's Olivia Dunham, by the way.

As long as you don't ask any more dumbass questions.

[With an emphasis on the word people. Monsters and other creatures are one thing, but you treat people with respect unless they give you a reason to do otherwise. That's his philosophy, anyway.]
