[Well, hello there. There’s a friendly face smiling at the network, nervously pushing his glasses up. He doesn’t seem to have any kind of trouble with the computers, but it’s obvious by the way he’s looking speaking to crowds (and he seems to consider whoever might be looking a ‘crowd’) isn’t really his thing.

Or that’s what he wants to make you believe, anyway. Clark Kent had always been the go to personality in case of kidnapping. He isn’t stupid enough to show where is he exactly living, but you get to see enough of his room to guess he’s in the water sector if you care enough to notice that kind of things. Seeing how calm and easy going the guy seems it shouldn’t come as a surprise.]

Um, hello. [A little friendly wave and a tilt of his head.] I’m not really sure if we’re supposed to-ah, introduce ourselves? I was told everything would be alright and everybody I’ve seen has been rather welcoming so far so I though… [He trails off, shrugging.] Call it farm-boy routine I guess.

Anyway, I’m Clark. Clark Kent. It’s a pleasure.

[Steph actually fumbles with the buttons on her console slightly, almost forgetting to set it to private with the encryptions that Bruce provided, but she gets there eventually, and then her excited face is on the screen]

Mr. Kent, hi. [deep breaths, Brown] Are you alright?

[just because he's Superman doesn't mean it's not polite to ask]

"Farm-boy routine"? You're a farmer?

[He doesn't exactly feel relief at Clark's announcement, but...

Bruce won't say he isn't glad to see him.

Then again, there's no guaranteeing that it's actually him. There are enough forces at work here that he wouldn't be terribly surprised by a doppelgänger or some alternate universe in which Clark was never Superman-- or even one of the kedan posing as him, for purposes presently unknown.

He considers each potential possibility, fingers steepled in front of him as he sits at a café console. He's himself today. Just Bruce Wayne, no Devin Craig and certainly no Batman. But he could still lose ground if he were to reveal himself on the network, if he's right about Jason--

So instead of replying (he sees you there, Stephanie) he gets up, tosses his sportsjacket over one shoulder and heads for the door. No. Some things warrant meeting face to face. There were hints enough in the background of Clark's video to note that he's in the Water Sector. The sun was coming in on the west, which means he's not in a suite that faces the sunrise. It's enough. He'll find him.

His only point of irritation at the moment is that he has no way of knowing whether or not it's legitimately Clark, and the fact that he has no kryponite on hand. Tim has some, but between the two of them and in regards to Superboy, Tim was the one likelier to need it.

He puts it out of his mind, ducks into an alley to change into what passes as his uniform here - a simple domino mask and a black silk uniform that harkens back to his days training under Shiva - and takes to the roof. If it's Clark, he'll hear his heartbeat on the approach, and not be particularly surprised when Bruce drops into his suite.

Which, for the record, he's totally doing a few minutes later. As soundless as he is, you can't fool a Kryptonian's hearing.]

[ Imu's polishing her spear with a rag and a deadpan look. ] Guessing you weren't here for the festival. Just for the record, not everyone's welcoming.

Wow, it's like I'm watching an Animal Planet exposé on the social hierarchies of dweebery.

My god, you're like apple pie. Is that normal? It shouldn't be normal.

[There had certainly been an influx of new arrivals today and Merle can't help but wonder why people arrive when they do.

She waves one hand at the camera, smiling faintly.]

Hi. I'm Merle.

[Aaand Clark smiles, because thanks to Kara he'd recognize that voice everywhere. He's pretty sure she was... slightly older last time he saw her, but he hasn't gotten his powers back 100% so he can't be sure.]

Miss Brown. I'll assume everything I was told about this place on my way here is... true?

Not... really, my father is- was.

[He swallows, but manages to maintain the smile.] I'm a reporter. But I was raised in the middle of cornfields.

[Oh, it is very much him Bruce. He isn't going to be surprised if he has to prove it though... after he died everyone and their mother with an S-shield in their chest claimed to be him. Some did it in a right way, some did it... in a way that made no one believe them.

And that's not the last time he'd been impersonated, or even mind-controlled. Really, if Bruce trust he was him out of the blue he'd even be offended. That really won't be a problem.

...Coming into his suite without warning or even knocking though? That's more of a problem. Clark is trustful, and his door will always be open for Bruce from now on- but really, a warning could have been nice.]

You're lucky I can now hear your heartbeat. Most people call...

[Clark raises an eyebrow and pushes his glasses up once more.] You're guessing right. I- uh- just got here actually, what festival?

And what do you mean by that? 'not welcoming' kind of has a broad meaning... should I be careful?

I'm not most people.

[Which Clark should know. But the familiarity is there, and although Bruce is hardly convinced enough to drop his guard, his stance shifts by the barest amount. He's still ready to fight, but at least he's not actually in form.]

[A couple of blinks and a little startled laugh later.]

... I'm not even sure if you're trying to insult me.

[Well, at least someone who gives a normal welcome. Clark smiles at her and waves back.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Merle.

[Kon's been in his little lazy slump lately and just sitting back, snack packets littered on the floor and a glass of some kind of fruit juice in his hand. Fruit juice that is now being sprayed out of his mouth as he drags his feet of the desk and leans forward.

Clark Kent. No way! He was here?

Kon's eyes are wide and he slams his glass down on the desk and he's leaning forward on his seat, tipping down his shades and arching a brow.]

Wow uh, hey.

Maybe that's all part of my evil supervillain plan.

There was some sort of festival here, for several days. Each took place in a different part of the city. Food, music, contests.

There was a situation on the last day. A few of the locals captured two of us foreigners, causing some kind of scene and going on about how we won't be able to "save" this place.

The son of a farmer, then. Hmph.

..."Corn"? [Da fuq you on about.] What is corn? And what does a reporter do?

I wouldn't lower your guard that much. Not everyone here is all welcoming.

You seem like a nice guy, so I'll give you a heads up. People here are nice and welcoming up until they're not.

[She's still a bid jaded, okay.]

That would be me. Since I was raised in Smallville though I still consider myself a farmboy-

[And then he pauses, and frowns.] Wait: were you being sarcastic, asking about corn? Or do you really not have that... wherever you come from?

[And while Clark isn't (luckily, some would say) a mind-reader, he can read Bruce's stance fairly well. But he really, really doesn't have the time for tests right now- not long ones, anyway.

There's something else he has to ask. Because while he recognizes the heartbeat and the bone structure and the scars (and it's refreshing to not have to fight the lead in the suit for that), Bruce is been gone for... very long in his world. And if he hadn't been told this was a place between death and life already Clark would be freaking out right now, or punching the hell out of the impostor.

Not that he isn't freaking out but it's SIGNIFICANTLY LESS and he's a reporter okay these distinctions matter.]

Bruce? I- I want you to take off the mask. Okay? You can ask whatever you want- It's me, I promise. I'll prove it- DNA and everything you need.

But I want-need to see your face. Please?

[And Clark mind is already processing everything, trying to find the best plan of action as his mind races like it always does. But he barely knows nothing about this place or what happened, and he knows better than to jump into this kind of situations...]

Save this place from what? And are those two foreigners alright now? What happened to them?

[Supervillain can mean two things. Either he's from his world (or a similar one), or he reads a lot of those comics people tend to make about them. He's been in a world where their lives are basically just printed for people's entertainment, it wouldn't be news.]

Read a lot of comics, son?

[...Give him a second to process he really is seeing what he's seeing over the network. He recognizes the fade-cut and the classes. He recognizes his own face when he was younger.

Except the chin. The chin had always been Lex's, and Kon had to be grateful his chin wasn't as square-y as all Kryptonians tended to have.

Yes, he'd recognize Kon anywhere, but why did he look so... young?]

Hey, yourself. We ought to meet, don't you think?

[He gives her a sheepish smile.]

I've always been told I was a little too trusting, but they seemed so nice as they guided me here... and not many places would simply give you a place to live in as you arrive.
