[ For at least...twenty seconds, Jane was absolutely certain that she'd managed to teleport herself to wherever she is right now. Once she'd come to her senses and listened with a kind of detached interest to the -- kedan? is that what they were called? -- explain to her where she was, she'd realized that the situation was much different than she'd originally thought.

She'd turned on the computer and scrolled through, taking note that she's not the only newbie. She hunches over her black notebook with her arm curled protectively around the leather bound pages as she scribbles. She looks up briefly, makes sure the audio/video is on, then continues writing without missing a beat.

Weird and abnormal? Now totally a staple in Jane's life.

Just curious – on average, what’s the usual time frame people arrive and how many appear at any given time? Would anyone be willing to compare any notes they might have about this? I'm really interested in how this keeps happening.

She pauses in her writing just long enough to introduce herself. ]

Roughly weekly - I haven't been keeping exact notes on the numbers of new arrivals, but it's usually one or two a week. [ Her lips quirk in a faint smile. ] They seem to have stepped up the pace this week, as I'm sure you've noticed.

[ back to writing, until that word comes up. She looks at the console sharply; Jane's not great at hiding emotions -- she's still the slightest but touchy about SHIELD. ]

[ Natasha was expecting that reaction. Best she gets it out of the way early. ]

There's the faintest twitch of a smile at that reaction. ]

He did. I'm afraid he's not here; we met... before I arrived.

[ Figures. SHIELD, ya'll are creepers. ]

Ah. I see. Well that's -- hm. [ Annoying or good? She doesn't know. ]

I saw some of New York. On television. [ Kind of like Pepper did. ]

You did? That's good. I wasn't looking forward to explaining just why he was on Earth again.

Do you know how he got there?

[ because that's obviously important right ]

I'm afraid not. Not the way he and his friends arrived in New Mexico, but other than that... [ She shakes her head. ]

Probably wasn't time. I understand.

[ She pinches the bridge of her nose. ]

So what do we do now? Wait...?

For now. I can put you in touch with Dr. Banner and Mr. Stark if you're not already. I think they'd like to work with you, and Stark can supply any resources you might need.

I'm looking into some things, trying to figure out how we got here. If I find anything, you'll be one of the first to know.

I've talked to Dr. Banner, but Stark would be helpful. And -- if you need help... [ Wormhole specialist! ]

[ And she smiles. She'd been hoping for that offer. If it hadn't come, she'd have asked, but it's easier when it comes on its own. ]
