[Catty is looking totally relaxed, leaning forward with her elbows on the desk, and her chin resting on her hands]

Hey, so, I can timetravel. [Yup just slamming that out there] And even though it's gone super weird here and I can't touch anything when I got back, or even have anyone notice me, it's still good for overhearing things. [A beat] Which, um, I haven't done to anyone here. So you know.

But I was thinking, there has to be some point in the past where things related to us were discussed, right? And if no one can see or hear us...well, we might be able to find out something interesting. Or important.

[She sucks in a breath, straightening] But I don't want to keep this to myself. So I'm asking for volunteers who don't mind stepping into a tunnel between space and time and exploring history. Vanessa'll tell you that it smells like cabbage, but she's kind of finicky. It's totally safe, and it doesn't smell bad at all, I promise. [yes it does] I think I'll be able to take four people back? My only real thing is that, if you come, you have to share what you find. It's not fair, otherwise.

[She gives a casual salute] Okay, Catty out! Just let me know if you're interested, okay?

[Sorry Catty, the Party Pooper Brigade is here. 8( Scott kind of has Strong Feelings when it comes to time travel and the last time - and only time - he participated it in things went to hell in a handbasket awful quick.

So pardon him if he's viewing all of this with a healthy dose of skepticism.]

You really sure you should be taking people with you on this time travel thing? Or that you should even be time traveling at all?

[She just gives him an easy smile, not bothered by his questions at all] Yes to both questions. [She doesn't feel any particular need to prove herself right now, and it's not like he's asked why yet]

[Well. That's certainly an enlightening answer. Scott's face doesn't budge an inch from the unimpressed expression that'd been on it when he first replied.]

You know time travel isn't a walk in the park, right? That you mess up one thing and the whole world can come crashing down around you like a Jenga tower?

[She rolls her eyes]

No, I've never done this before in my life. I thought I'd test it out on a bunch of strangers first, just take a whole lot of people I don't know and probably don't trust back in time and let them loose. See what happens, you know? I'm a big fan of Jenga.

Yeah, sorry, but the last time I heard someone say that, they got noticed and started talking to people who were dead and kind of changed all of history.

[Sorry, someone is determined to be a grouch today. Well, technically he's a grouch every day but today he's even more of a grouch because this is such a touchy subject for him.]

How do you know the people you bring with you won't go around messing things up?

[She just stares at him]

You didn't listen to anything I said after "I can time travel', did you? [She taps her lower lip thoughtfully] Maybe I should have followed with that instead.

[He did! It just...went in one ear and out the other, as so many things do with him.]

Yeah, people can't see you and you can't touch things. [Which, okay, sounds pretty good but.] But what if it doesn't happen this time? Something could go catastrophically wrong.

[He's just sayin'.]

What if the turtle swims past a volcano and it explodes and we all drown in lava? It hasn't happened before, but something could go catastrophically wrong.

But it wouldn't be because of the whole time travel shenanigans thing.

[Which he is still being a grump about.]

You know, I think you're actually right. I'll tell you what; you round up everyone with powers on the turtle, and I'll tell them all to stop using them in case of disaster, volcanic or otherwise. That'll make sure we all stay safe, and it definitely won't backfire.

[She's kind of enjoying the grumpiness. It means she can be a brat back]

That's not what I meant and you know it.

[Dammit, why this, he did not ask for his!! ~~Yes he did.~~ Arrgh but she does have a point and as much as he wants to revert to being five years old and bratty right back at her, someone needs to be an adult in this conversation.]
