[Action (Batman)]

[In the Fire Sector today, there might be something seen that strikes unusual. A blur of black and red, going from rooftop to alleyway, in the sky and sprinting through the shadows. If someone catches sight it at the right time it should be clear what it is: a man in all black, with a red bat symbol on his chest.

If he stops it's only for a few short moments, as it observes it's surrounding area. But only for a few moments and nothing more, before it continues on. Whether it'll stop if called out...well that's be to seen if someone is willing to call out to it.]

Hey, people living on giant turtle...ok, here goes my pride out the window so get ready. Those Kedan dregs? Didn't give me any clothes! So right now? Completely naked! Nice guys, really. I enjoyed taking a ride down turtle lane but I got to be honest it was a little chilly.

[Yeah.]

I need clothes. Anyone got some to spare? Mens size and I still have my underwear on, so there's that. I'll give you some of my, uh, juulan if you do, since I can't go buy clothes like this and all. Name's Terry by the way. Let me know if you can help. And try not to laugh too hard at my misery.

[Ok so he isn't actually naked and he's wearing the suit while covering up his window curtains (and locked said windows just in case), but all he had was the suit he came in with. He can't exactly be in it 24/7 and he doesn't want to be so this is his best plan. May as well ask the hopefully friendly people over this computer for help...even if it means he'll have to actually get naked for whoever shows up.]

[Even since getting her flight back, Shayera's been going out for flights at any opportunity, despite her arm still being broken. But she's had worse, and that's not about to stop her from getting some much needed flight time.

Before she knows it, Shayera made it all the way to the Fire Sector. She considered to keep flying on through it until a black streak shot through the corner of her eye. He might be fast, but Shayera's had practice keeping up with black as night bat figures. She would have shouted, but he might have been pursuing a criminal of some kind, so she waits until she's close enough to only raise her voice as little as necessary.] Batman?

[He stops when he hears someone call him and turns around, getting into stance just in case. A Thanagarian, but not the one he knows of. But she looks injured. Hm.]

Who are you?

[She raises an eyebrow like she can't believe what she's hearing. But universes. She'll just shrug that off.] Shayera Hol. You're not-- [Batman she almost says, but catches herself. He obviously is a Batman, but different. Very different.] my Batman, are you?

[Shayera Hol. Oh boy. He knows that name. Hawkgirl - Warhawk's mom.]

No, I'm not. [He's going to be glad when this day ends and hopefully he won't ever have to keep saying it--] I'm from the future.

I had a feeling. [So. They're from the same universe, but they have no idea who the other is. Well, he probably does. Shayera most likely made it into the history books, and not in a pretty light.] And since you probably know who I am, and I know your predecessor, I don't suppose you'd take the cowl off and tell me who you are?

Sorry, no can do. Said predecessor might bite my head off. He has a strong jaw even in old age.

Like hell he'd ever lose it. [Ah, but there is one little bit of information she's forgetting.] He's here, by the way. But a lot younger than you probably know him.

So I've heard. Really looking forward to that meeting.

[Not. He knows there's no need to scout for the guy at least. If his luck is as good as it is, he'll be led right to him before the end of the day.]

Are any of the other Justice League here? I've already ran into Superman and Green Lantern...well, a Green Lantern. [The one he's familiar with is John Stewart of course. Shayera's...ok no, no, don't think of important future information people of the past shouldn't know yet.]

Because who wouldn't be thrilled to meet Batman. [Through all the sarcasm, she does like him. Most of the time.]

I'm guessing there's some changes between mine League and yours, because no one from my specific universe is here but me. Who's on yours?

...Well, our team is small. [He considers for a moment, wondering what he should tell her. Well he already mentioned Superman...] There's Superman, Wonderwoman, J'onn, Barda, Micron, Static, Aquagirl [a pause] and a Green Lantern. That's all.

[Casually excluding Warhawk? Casually excluding Warhawk. What she doesn't know won't hurt her haha...]

[There's a twinge of sadness before another thought hits her.] The Green Lantern. Are they related to John Stewart? [She'll handle the others later. She's not surprised to hear Superman and Diana are still alive and kicking.]

...No, the Green Lantern is just a kid from Tibet. No relation.

Oh. [Disappointment spreads on her face but she pushes it away to her usual expression of firmness.] Not surprised to hear Diana and Superman are still on the League. They're too stubborn to die like the rest of us.

[He sees the disappointment, but he knows what he's doing is right. No one can know too much about their own future, as the old man would put it.]

Stubbornness is a common trait. It's how the old man's still kicking it at age 500.

[Ok, obvious exaggeration, but he doesn't actually know Bruce's age. Guy doesn't talk about it, for obvious reasons. He'll just avoid the "dead" part of that though. Shayera isn't dead by any stretch last he checked, but again - future stuff.]

Alright, I think we should get off track with the future business. Nothing personal, but I don't want to mess up the timestream and make dinosaurs come back alive on accident.

[She scoffs, clearly amused at his sense of humor.] That young? And you're probably the only Bat with a sense of humor.

[Terry, you're a detective, figure it out. But the way he worded that.. sheesh, people and timelines.] You sound like John. But fine, no more future talk.

...Like John? What is that supposed to mean?

[He said no more future talk, but he doesn't get why she would make that comment.]

Oh, he... it's nothing, really. Took a trip to the future, met our son, but wouldn't tell me anything about him. He didn't want to upset timelines or be fate's puppet. That kinda stuff. [So it's a big thing, but Shayera tries not to stay pissed about it.]

Oh.

Well, that's not a big deal at all.

[Except it is because Terry has no memory of ever meeting John Stewart in the future. Great. Awesome. Hope time doesn't explode or anything now that he had that tidbit of the future spoiled for him.]

[Sigh.]

Ok, I'm going to level with you: I lied. There is one member of the Justice League I left out. Your son Rex - Warhawk.

But, ok sorry, I need to agree with John here: you really can't know anything about him. You shouldn't even know he exists and I don't know how John got to the future, but that's something I'll deal with another time.

[Maaaan Terry wants to go home now.]

[Your son, Rex. Shayera stared at him as though she couldn't believe the words that just came out of his mouth. Her son, Warhawk. Hawk. Well, she knows who he takes after. About a million questions rush through her mind. What's he like, is he proud to be his mom's son, does he hate her for her choices, is he strong. what does he look like--

and then Terry cuts all that short by saying the same old shit as Batman.] This place isn't even in our universe. Hell, we're on an entirely different plane of existence! You really think it's going to be able to screw things up?

Maybe so, but can you be certain that you won't retain this knowledge whenever we get out of here? I know I can't. I've been in situations involving time travel and I know the risks well enough that I can't take them. This is my future too we're talking about - I work with the guy. The answer is no.

Someone's left before, and come back, and they didn't remember this place back home. I just-- [Want to know about the little bit of family I'll have left. But she's not getting emotional with a stranger, much less a Bat.] Can't you even tell me just a little about him?

["But is it always like that?" is what first pops to mind. Just one person doesn't prove anything. Messing up the timeline is so dangerous and it terrifies Terry. How one slip-up can change things so drastically, like a domino toppling other dominoes in succession. He experienced that fear with Static before and it sent him into overdrive with trying to correct the situation.

But he feels bad at the same time. He doesn't take pleasure in angering people and maybe he should have just kept his mouth shut about the issue all together, but lying is just another thing he hates doing too. And of course he's in a constant position where he has to lie almost every day of his life to someone because of his duties. He knew what it meant when he took the cowl and he doesn't regret it, but it isn't always easy. Guess he never had the same issues though, considering.......

Terry sighs shortly and straightens himself up.]

...He's a good man. Headstrong and stubborn, but reliable and trustworthy. Been on the League a long time - since I was a kid even - and I don't think he intends to quit any time soon.

[As soon as he opens his mouth, Shayera has a retort at the ready. She stops dead in her tracks once she hears him actually explaining what her son is like. It fills her with an overwhelming sense of compassion and pride, that she raised him, brought a great hero into the world.

And if he's paying attention, he'll see her expression soften in that way it so rarely does. When people she cares about are being discussed.] Hard to tell who he gets the stubbornness from.

[It could easily come from either her or John, no doubt about it. Hell, it's probably both.] Just one question. Did he ever talk about me?

Not to me - I only joined the League recently. He's not the "touchy feely" kind, if you get what I'm saying. [A pause.] His wings are Nth metal built into the suit and capable of flight. I don't think words are needed with that in mind.

[For a man to go through the effort to create wings to fly with - it should say how much Warhawk takes pride in his heritage.]
