[Frazzled isn't quite the right word. She went from being in the middle of an attack on the hospital to suddenly being in the middle of a street in a downright peaceful looking part of Metal that doesn't look like it's been recently struck by Malicant, and has changed quite a bit. Not to mention the piece of jewlery she found on her, which she's keeping stuffed in a pocket for now.

Trying to ask the kedan doesn't really get her many answers; they're mixed, with a few kedan who recognized her from her work with the hospital focusing on the fact she's back- since when was she gone, but she isn't sure she wants an immediate answer to that, with all the differences- to some being downright rude or avoiding the question completely, which isn't that much of a surprise, if a frustrating one.

She ends up slipping into a cafe, finding a console- checking the network doesn't do much more than confuse her further, finally leading her to turning on the video herself:]

[Bianca's at one of the consoles in the hospital's ground floor again; this time, it's much easier to tell it's a hospital thanks to the construction and refurnishing being completely finished.]

Hi everyone, I know we've had some more arrivals [A slightly wry smile, because there's nothing new about that], so let me introduce myself first. I'm Bianca Reyes, I help run Eshai Memorial Hospital here, if you ever get sick or injured, just so you know. [There's a location ping attached, showing where it is in Metal.]

Before I get to my main announcement, I want to give everyone a warning. One of the teenagers here isn't as innocent as we've been led to believe. He's also at least one of the ones going around on the network anonymously making incendiary comments.

[There's a link to Bakura's last network post.]

He has no problem with problems with make death threats, made a horror movie style monster appear and then disappear, and he tried to make me forget my encounter with him. Just in case anyone's seen anything like that or has gaps in their memories.

[He had a warning, and plenty of time. She's not just going to allow someone like that to wander around with no problem.]

Moving on from that, now that the hospital is finally set up, [Instead of being half finished] I'd like to announce that we'll be having a blood drive open to the whole population here in Keeliai. It'll be in four days, to give everyone who wants to take part a chance to make sure they can donate. We've spread some flyers to some of the larger markets and grocers about what foods are good to eat before you donate. If you aren't sure, just drink plenty of water and eat dark green leafy vegetables. Seaweed's a good source of iron.

If you aren't sure about donating blood, or you're afraid of needles, think about it as doing something to help yourself and others in the future. There aren't enough of us here that emergency transfusions are easily possible, especially if you're not human. [Looking at you, Arthur.]

There'll be snacks for everyone donating, but we can turn it into a potluck. Make it a small party.

Don't be afraid of asking any questions you might have.

[What's behind Bianca isn't the scenery of her suite in Earth, or even one of the console cafes in Keeliai, though it certainly bears more resemblance to the latter, just in the middle of being redecorated- or, to be more exact, refurbished. There's definitely a lot more of a 'medical' feel to the background than one would expect at first glance.

She also looks to be on the tired side, but that probably goes for most everyone lately.]

This is a bit of a late announcement, [She was too busy running around earlier] but to make it clear to everyone: Eshai Memorial Hospital is now open, ahead of schedule.

[And there's a location ping, showing where it is in the Metal Sector.]

The Soranik Natu clinic is still open and being run by attached nurses, but the hospital is better equipped for more severe injuries and for more people.

If you haven't seen anyone for injuries from the last couple weeks in Keeliai or in that bottle, come in.

[She's saying it fairly nicely, but there's no way to ignore that that's an order.]

(OOC: Feel free to have characters go to the hospital in with action. It's not entirely finished up though, so some areas are closed off or sparsely furnished.)

[For once, Zatanna isn't broadcasting from her room. She doesn't even bother trying to hide the Guilt on her face as she appears on screen, the clear signs of a random cafe in the background. It would have been a stretch to say she hadn't really slept much since returning from the bottle, but she's certainly not taking any joy from the memories playing over and over in her mind.]

[Memories she needed to get away from, if only for a little while. And there was really only one way to do that:]

Does anybody have a place I can stay for a few days?

[By not being in her suite.]

[ For those who have spoken to Milyn before, they might note a stark departure from her usual bubbly smiles and demeanor. Instead she addresses the console with a level gaze and a calm, succinct tone of voice. ]

Hello Foreigners. The source of the miasma has been identified.

In the time of the initial war with the Enemy, three vessels existed representing the three Planes of Life, Dreaming and Death. The trinity was thought lost during the final battle with no trace of them remaining... until now. It appears that one of them -- the vessel of the Death realm -- remained hidden within the Palace of the Landed Sky and has been, as you can see, opened. These vessels contain lands which exist inside those Planes.

As you have no doubt witnessed, the black fog permeating the city is only one symptom of the corruption contained within this dimension. It poisons what it touches and will continue to spread, overtaking everything if it is not stopped, blighting both body and mind. I have tested it extensively and nothing I have found so far suggests that anyone here possesses an immunity to it; you may note that even the magics and abilities you harness likewise cannot purge it.

There is no other way to stop the contamination in Keeliai other than to strike at its source: within Kithika, the land housed inside the bottle itself and encompassed by the Death Plane.

By imperial decree of the Alderwood Emperor, all Foreigners capable of combat must report to the Palace immediately. You will be sent to Kithika through the vessel, to locate and destroy the source of this affliction. Bring any weapons and tools you have to aid you. If the corruption cannot be cleansed it will infect everyone and everything in the city before spreading to Tu Vishan.

If you fail, there will be nothing left for you to return to.

[A man appears on the network of indeterminate age, extremely short-- under five feet tall, easily-- with a slight hunch to his posture and Germanic features. His eyes are sharply alive, bright with challenge. There's no hesitation as he speaks, in a gravelly kind of accent that sounds almost Russian, the words flowing quickly as he makes them up on the spot.

Right now, he desperately needs intel of all kinds, and eventually a spotter to watch him while he uses his seizure inducer. That fact he's assiduously ignoring. He'd checked his neurotransmitter levels this morning, and he has at least three days, even with all the stress of arrival. No, four days, probably. Five. Really, he can go a lot longer without one than the ImpSec medical staff had given him credit for. --Focus, Vorkosigan.]

So. I see you all have quite a neat set up here. Let's not waste time. Who can bring me up to speed, ex tempore? Surely we have more intelligence than "don't say its name" on our bogey man. Since confirmed facts are likely to be scarce, personal accounts would be acceptable.

I'm also taking proposals for getting miserably drunk at the bar, as is traditional in times of drawn out peril. I need someone to drag me home, y'see; alcohol has quite a soporific effect on my constitution. [And Ivan is unfortunately not here to do the dragging. Miles ignores the resulting pang that inspires in him.

Then he hesitates imperceptibly, the memory of his previous catastrophic failure to report his seizures clanging loudly through his brain. No. He can't ignore this, much as he'd like to. The only thing that scares Miles more than never going home is turning into a vegetable, mindless and drooling. He can at least do the preliminary investigation about options.]

Information about local medical facilities would be appreciated as well. They're not all-- er, at this level of technology, are they? [He looks dubious about anyone surviving on that level of medical care, but immediately recovers with a wide, convincing smile.] I'd just like to know preemptively for when I wake up with a skull splitting headache.

Shit, Mistress Bianca might.

In the most responsible and reasonable way imaginable, I assure you. And, worry not, the attractive visage you see here is one-hundred percent the truth. For once. I am actually a man grown, I assure you. Did a little witchcraft with a lovely assistant, sorted some things out. Started a novel, too, actually, and I'm thinking of taking up yoga. I have been told that one of the essentials of this world is work and seeking it out. Now that I have acquired knowledge about the status of my family and my situation this seems to be the next logical step.

[Even though it is probably out of her typical comfort zone, being the Queen of Asgard she has spent time with her people, the only position she really ever had was that of a wife, mother, and ruler. Now she had to present herself in a way that would make her seem qualified to work…

…and she wasn’t all that sure she had anything valuable to offer, but shrinking away is also not an option. So sitting upright and looking confident she continues.]

First I shall dispense with my titles, one of them at least; I cannot see how being queen of another realm would be functional realistically other than illustrating my organization, mediation, and leadership qualities.

[She could easily say these qualities could be applied to a mother, any mother.]

I also possess strength that is supplied to people of Asgard, fundamental knowledge of and concerning magic, and the capacity to fight if necessary.

These are the qualifications of Frigga--if you can harness these qualities and find a means of putting them to use then I am at your disposal. [If you need references talk to her children and ask them about her work.]

[Yeah.]

I need clothes. Anyone got some to spare? Mens size and I still have my underwear on, so there's that. I'll give you some of my, uh, juulan if you do, since I can't go buy clothes like this and all. Name's Terry by the way. Let me know if you can help. And try not to laugh too hard at my misery.

[It's been awhile since Bianca's made a network post, but here she is again.]

This is going to be on the long side, but I have a few announcements regarding the clinic to make, and then something regarding Thanksgiving. [If the clinic info doesn't keep people's attention, the thought of food certainly will.]

First off, the kedan are expecting winter weather and cold temperatures to hit us soon, and the Dr. Natu clinic [Even if Soranik isn't here anymore, it makes sense to keep calling it that] received vouchers for warm clothing. If you don't have the funds to purchase winter clothing like coats, especially if you're a new arrival, stop by our clinic here in Earth, [Directions to the building here, with a location ping] and pick one up.

Ours isn't the only clinic to get these vouchers, so if there's one closer to you, you don't need to make your way out here.

Second, once a week from this point onward, we're also going to be offering classes on basic first aid, what to do in case of medical emergencies, and general health classes, among others. These are open to everyone, including the kedan, and while we'll be charging for each class, it's to help fund the clinic and to pay for the supplies for the basic first aid classes. If you don't have any experience with first aid, I heavily suggest signing up, since we'll also be including a first aid kit with the first aid classes.

We'll also be having a full staff day on these same days. If you haven't had a physical or checkup recently, the full staff days would be the best time to get one, especially with cold weather approaching.

Finally, on a more personal note, since we had Halloween about a week ago, [Even if that went badly with all the disappearances going on] for a lot of us, that means that Thanksgiving is a few weeks away. I know not everyone celebrates it, and that not everyone has family or friends from where they came from here with them, but I want to invite everyone here to EA-1A for Thanksgiving dinner in three weeks if they want to join Jaime and me, and you don't have other plans.

If you decide to come, feel more than free to bring something along with you if you like for the table.

[Anyone who has CR with Jaime or Bianca would be getting a personal invite delivered in person for this by Jaime.]

[OOC:Most of the clinic information, besides the cold weather voucher bit, can be found here.

And then he finally snaps his fingers away from his forehead, and nods curtly at the camera from his suite in the Metal sector.]

Good evening, residents of the Turtle. I'm Acting Captain Arnold J. Rimmer, of the Jupiter Mining Corporation deep space vessel Red Dwarf. And while I'm none too keen on the whole "kidnapped to an alternate dimension" smeg, I must admit I'm not surprised I was chosen for this war. Great generals are surely lacking here, it's just an inevitability.

Although I do find it rather hard to believe that a woman's in charge of this whole operation. Tell me, who's the real brains behind the beauty, hmm? It won't do for your newest commanding officer to not know his superiors. Or his subordinates. I want names, I want ranks, I want practical experiences!

Or, failing all that, the nearest exit? I think battling a multi-dimensional entity of purest evil on the back of a giant turtle might be the tiniest bit above my pay grade. Thanks ever so.

[It's been a day or so since Peter got set up in his suite. He's not entirely sure. He'd been exposed to total information overload when he first showed up, and he needed the time to sit and let it all process. Not that doing so allowed anything to really make sense. But still. And of course with the way his body had refused to cooperate with even the simple task of listening to someone, he'd been in desperate need of some actual rest. But when he next woke up and really felt aware of his situation, only one thought really resounded.

They told him that this was an "In-Between." But Peter wasn't fooled.

Eventually he pulls himself out of bed (with a wince) and makes his way over to the console in his suite. It doesn't take long for Peter to figure out how it works, and as soon as he's got it running, he's turning on the audio feed. He's sure he's still looking pretty beaten up and he doesn't want to alarm anyone, after all. This doesn't feel like a good time for sympathy from total strangers. And "In-Between" or no, keeping his identity a secret was second nature. So we've got some new arrivals after quite a while! I know it's a little weird to tell you "welcome" but I promise, I'm not being a jerk about it.

Pepper's not here now so, uhh... unless anyone objects I'm going to keep the welcoming committee together. Anyone who was on it before and still wants to be, or even if you've been here for a while but hadn't heard of it, it's basically what it sounds like. If you want to help out with it, tell me here, okay?

It's not exactly coincidence since it's been going on for a bit, but there are also some other people who've left in the last few days. Merida and Hiccup are both gone, and maybe others. [When he turns on the feed, Sep’s green eyes are thoughtful—and maybe, if you look carefully, a little tired. Still, he’s seems alert enough despite it.]

I would have waited until we got some new arrivals again to talk about this, but under the circumstances, this won't keep. For those who don’t know me, I’m Sep. I work as a healer out of WA-3A.

I didn’t get a chance to talk to Soranik directly before she left us, but there has been some discussion going around about organizing our resources and medics into a larger functioning entity, hopefully by building a proper hospital. If nothing else, we ought to coordinate our relative strengths and talents, in case someone else is best suited to treat a patient—or for triage in case of emergency. It would also provide us a good base to teach and organize less experienced field medics in case of crises like the jiangshi invasion last winter.

Information and technique exchange is part and parcel of this, although I know not all of it is applicable to all of us. It’s past time we got organized, though—especially so there’s infrastructure in place no matter who arrives or leaves.

[He relaxes the further into the post he gets, some of the tension draining from his shoulders. This is the role he’s most comfortable in: getting people organized to support each other and keep things running smoothly.]

There’ll be a meeting at my suite tomorrow. Everyone already working in a clinic should drop by for basic information exchange. If you’re a medic not currently attached to a facility and want to be, we'll get you sorted.

It was indicated that questions about Dr. Natu’s clinic should be directed to you, ma’am. If you’ve got a free moment, could we sit down today?
