[If you think he's bragging even through the text, don't worry. He's totally bragging.]

but that isnt even the weirdest thing about this. ill just say that, hopefully this will b the last time i wake up in a tub of water w/ a bunch of weirdos around me. they might as well have drawn sumthin on my face w/ a marker while they were at it. nnnnnot exactly the best first impression. and like what am i supposed to do now? its nice i got a place to live but im at a loss aside from that u know.

anyway, im looking for my friends. we r from inaba, a town in yamanashi prefecture. if any of u know people from there plz let me know.

or,hey if hey u guys see this, message me. and tell me wtf is going on... and that all this fog is a coincidence & not something i should flip about...

[Dryly,]

Is that meant to be some manner of English, then?

[Sayeth the pirate. Still, at least people weren't using numbers in place of letters back then. Newfangled kids!! Don't make Kidd shake a cane at you lot.]

[Kidd raises an eyebrow.]

You've something to say, lad?

[Gurl you did not just insult the pirate look. It's a classic. Jack Sparrow could never.]

[Minigolf, hdu, this is at least worthy of Disney.]

Well I ain't from around here, am I? Nor any time you're familiar with, I reckon. And the kedan dress normal enough for themselves. I imagine it's a sight difficult to do when one's a shapechanger.

[Kidd chuckles a little.]

What's there to get? We're here, we're breathing. Experiencing a thing makes it real, else how do you explain all these different worlds and the folk from them?

[That gets a thoughtful 'hmm', and a tilt of the head.]

This Inaba of yours. [Kidd actually manages to say it semi-correctly, score one for the fact that there were a great many people hailing from Asia amongst the ranks of pirates in the 1700s.] Surely it's some oddity of its own, aye?

[No one here is from a 'normal' world, even what passes as being so to the person themselves. Of course, the Assassins and the Templars could exist in any of 'em, most Earth-based cultures do have piracy (Kidd's even heard of this famous lady pirate known as 'Mary Read', which amuses considerably) of a sort. But 'normal' here seems to mean superheroes and the like.]

Curiosity's not due cause, now?

[Oh, it's all in jest, and after a moment he relents and answers,]

Few folk are from a place without esoteric leanings, be it the undead or men that can rend steel with their bare hands, or those that fly among the stars as a man does upon the ocean. It ties into the Emperor's call for those that've been on deck for a tussle or two. Which by your own admission you've some some experience in.

[Kidd shrugs.]

Well, I can't do a lick of those things I mentioned, if that's where your interest lies. I'm late of Nassau, the common word for my folk is 'pirate'.

[Normally, it's the sort of thing that Kidd would be interested in keeping secret. It's a pirate soon dead that parades their allegiance to the black flag when not among friends or allies. But in this place, there's far more fantastic things to pay one's heed to, and piracy ranks very low on the list indeed. Though one wonders where Assassins would lie.]

[This never gets old. In fact, it's downright hilarious.]

The year of Our Lord 1721, aye. Does that bestir you to incredulity, mate?

You find my accent amusing, do you?

[And maybe Kidd sounds a little like this is about to cause Serious Anger, but naw, you're just getting teased, Yosuke. Kidd knows that the pirate persona is... an intimidating sort.]

[He's enjoying this way, way too much.]

And supposing it's not manly I've aimed for.

Hardly that. Nassau was hardly a place of high culture, but it had a variety, to be sure. There were plenty of folk that spoke same as you, or like nothing you've ever heard when they tried on the King's for size.

[Pirate melting pot. Seriously.]

You may think us barbaric, but I could say the same of you and yours, by my reckoning.
