[You know... getting use to all of that technology that keeps cropping up back home is one thing, but this is ridiculous. Everything was explained to him, and he knew the basics but... Tonraq still fumbles a bit with the console. A deep frown on his face as he does so, which shows when he finally activates the video feed.

He then blinks once upon realizing that its broadcasting. Then, clearing his throat, he begins to speak in that deep voice of his.]

I am Chief Tonraq of the Southern Water Tribe, and I just recently arrived.

[This is hardly the best time for him to be here, but it looks like he has to deal with it.]

I've been told that others from my world are also here. I don't suppose any of you would know my daughter, Korra.

[The video flickers on to show a large pair of blinking blue eyes, and relays a voice muffled by the ridiculously close proximity to the microphone. ]

“--ng supposed to what? Oh.”

[The blue eyes are suddenly pulled back to a much more comfortable distance, and a girl comes into view, her brows bent as she skeptically looks toward the camera. She looks really tired and worn out...she's new here.]

“Yeah, I guess I’m not really used to the idea of this thing…” [A sigh, and a curl of the shoulders in a shrug. It won't hurt to try, at least.]

[Her expression quickly mellows into a calm but forced bright smile, though worry stays rooted behind a professional, gentle stoic of deep blue.]

“I’m Katara,” [she explains, motioning a slender hand toward her chest.] “And, um.. I guess I’m new here." [Under her breath, she adds:] "Even if… this is a really bad time…”

[She sighs and shakes her head, her brows furrowing as she looks into the camera to explain. Her arms wrap around her absently.]

“A close friend of mine got hurt while protecting me, and I was going to heal him, but now I’m here and I don’t know what’s happened to him. O-Or any of the others…”

[Her eyes widen a little, and she looks down for a moment as if realizing something else as the last words leave her mouth, then returns her gaze to the camera, filled with an urgent determination.]

“Please, if any of you have any news on my world, could you tell me?”

[ Brigid has spent a lot of time acclimating herself to the new sounds and smells of the area. She's also not sure what's going to happen. She's never been completely without an Alpha and it terrifies her.

However, when the camera focuses on her, she's got her hair back in a braid with curly pieces escaping to curl around her face. She looks composed and with it. Such a lie. ]

Good morning. I have a few questions if anyone would be willing to answer them.

[ Her fingers toy with her crucifix. ]

Firstly, I'm looking for work. I've a PhD in Irish and Celtic studies from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. I speak Irish fluently, and can translate Latin. If teaching positions aren't available, could someone direct me to something in the secretarial field? I've done work like that and worked as a TA during my post-graduate studies.

I was told that perhaps Stark Industries or Wayne Enterprises would be looking for someone.

Secondly, I wish to learn the local language. Could someone perhaps teach me, or direct me to someone who can?

Thank you, very much.

Hello there! [Toul is smiling and waving her hand at that screen, moving forward and backward as if testing the way the video adjusted to her position.] I’ve never seen the like of this machine before, but it is quite amazing. To be able to record yourself as you are doing something like this is and let others see you in person is wonderful. I’ve never even heard of such a thing even from the big cities back home.

[Then she stops, ears flicking back and forth for a moment, thoughtful.] I believe I have been brought here for some purpose. I am not certain yet what that exact purpose is, but there is always a purpose to where we come to be, isn’t there? I can’t think of a reason I would be riding the back of a large turtle otherwise. [She laughs softly, because she thinks she is far more amusing than she probably really is.] I have heard there are Reptilia here who need help and I will do my best in whatever way you may need me to.

It is good to meet you all…whoever may be listening!

[And then her eyes widen just a bit before she reaches out and lightly raps the knuckles of her hand to the side of her head.] Oh, yes, how silly of me not even give you my name. Apologies! I am Keymaster Toul—ah well, Apprentice Keymaster, that is. If there is something you need of me, please do not be afraid to seek me out.

[Behind Luke is an organic-looking wooden wall, possibly recognizable as part of the console alcove in one of the Wood sector suites. He's evidently settled into his new quarters and it didn't take him long to figure out the technology of the console.

It's a bit archaic compared to what he's used to but it's simple enough. He would fiddle with it and see if he can give it an upgrade but he's been warned about the anti-tampering system in place, so he won't. For now.]

Hello. My name is Luke. [He intentionally leaves out his last name. Luke has no idea who he might meet here and his family's name has become associated with a lot of unpleasant things as of late. Better to be safe.] I've just arrived a couple weeks ago and the map of the city that I was given is helpful but not quite what I need at the moment. I want to ask if anyone takes regular trips up to the turtle's head and wouldn't mind a travel companion. It sounds like a place I'd like to visit soon.

I'd also like to offer my services. Where I come from I'm a guardian of the peace. Not necessarily affiliated with any government or law force... freelance, if you will. I help because I can. Please, call on me any time.

[Now that his powers have returned and he's had a few healing sessions Luke feels in much better sorts to be offering such services without hesitation at his own abilities.]

Hi!! I'm Hummingbird! Is this working? We didn't have a computer in Houston.

If anyone had anything damaged by the fuzzy man-spider with all the red eyes that is definitely not Spider-Man, I'll make sure it gets fixed or paid for. I'm one of the New Warriors. Do you have those here? It means I'm one of the good guys. If nothing got wrecked, um. Go team!

[With the messy stuff thus taken care of, Aracely can move onto more pressing matters.]

Soooooo I've never been to space before! Does this happen a lot? Does this count as space? I should have asked Sam more about it. I've been on a teleporting mountain, but I don't think that's why I'm here.

It's been a long day. One of the cute baby turtles told me my costume is pretty. That helped - talking turtles are so much nicer than talking coyotes. I really need cucumbers. Also, that goo stuff that they smear all over your face when you're getting a facial. If anyone has the number of a good masseuse, let me know. That's always helped me relax.

Bye!

Um... This is somewhat of a... strange and unfortunate situation... [ The voice that comes out is soft, feminine, and hesitant. Being without Agito is bad enough - being without Agito in what seems to be another universe is even worse.

He takes a deep breath and speaks again with more strength to his tone. ]

Waking up naked in a bath surrounded by a bunch of weird people isn't the best morning, ne? [ an awkward laugh goes here because he doesn't know what else to do. ] If they wanted someone who could fight evil they definitely picked the wrong person!

But I guess if they had to pick someone out of my friends, I'm glad they chose the least important one of us. [ he makes sure to say this very pointedly, in case the person who stole him away is listening and might realize their mistake. ] After all, I'm not one of the Kings or Queens anymore!

[ some more giggling. it's really hard not to panic. but he's trying hard not to panic. he is doing a bad job of not panicking but at least he's trying his best, right? once his giggling dies down his voice settles back into something more hesitant. ]

[ Casey opens with about five seconds of space to start with, since he's rechecking his console operational stats as a precaution. His voice is stiff and a little muffled, but easy enough to understand. ]

Alright. Definitely got this working! [ Moderately loud enthusiasm abounds for a brief moment there, and it is promptly tamped down. ] Sorry. I asked about how these worked just to be safe, but I also hear I got a pretty thick skull, y'know? [ And here there are two quiet thumps followed by a light hiss, because he sure did knock on the side of his head for emphasis. ] Wanted to make sure I got it.

So, uh. Hey. Name's Casey. I'm from New York, and if you don't know what that means, I feel sorry for ya. I guess I'm here to wake up half-drowned and defeat evil like everyone else? The half-drowned thing is pretty new, but I actually have some experience with evil, so here's hopin' I can put myself to good use. I mean, between giant turtles and fightin' bad guys and studying for English Lit., I'll take the bad guys.

If there's anything bigger than the welcome wagon that a guy should be let in on or a familiar face or somethin', though, I'd really appreciate gettin' that outta the way now. Maybe directions to a good sports equipment store? [ Pauuuuse. ] Thanks. Really.

[Sabriel's face appears on the screen, looking as unnaturally pale as ever- and it's clear she's been crying, and has only just stopped, she can't quite keep the wavering out of her voice.]

Has anyone seen Amon? I haven't seen him since I got back from Kithika [He's a grown man. Sabriel knows this, but his continued absence makes her uncomfortable- and she knows well enough what will happen to him once he returns to his world.] And I haven't seen Javert in a while either.

Also, if anyone still has one of those weapons they found in Sinbrilee- Try putting the blade in one of the fire fountains. I think you'll find the results interesting. [It's only fair she shares what she's learned, even if it's something relatively minor.]

Finally, if there's anyone here who has no powers of their own, but would like to learn a useful skill, I'm always willing to teach people how to use Charter Magic. Given recent events, I think everyone ought to learn something that will let them defend themselves if they need it.

[Locked to her students, standard encryption]

I want to teach all of you how to defend yourselves. I know I've taught some of you nonlethal methods- and I want you to keep practicing that- but I also want to teach you how to work with more lethal spells, and more about binding. [It's easier to remain calm when there's something to focus on, rather than thinking about the people who aren't here anymore. She never spoke to Cinna or Javert about it, but she knows Alcuin died back in his world- and Amon will die soon after he returns to his. But Sabriel knows that she needs to deal with the problems in front of her right now- teaching her students and fighting Malicant.] And I encourage you to practice what you've learned with each other. As Charter Mages, we can work more powerful magic when we cooperate and combine our abilities.

And- none of you were hurt during the incident with the fog and the bottle, were you? [Sabriel mentally adds healling magic to the list of things she wants to teach her students.]

[Good afternoon, everyone. Today, your console has been graced with the presence of one distinctly alien face. The smile he directs at the camera is both gentle and pleasant, though his black eyes are utterly unreadable.

Musingly:]
I was told that I was brought here to fight a war against a foe we are not permitted to name, though first I am to procure employment so that I may stay in the comfortable accommodations that have been made for me. [These comfortable accommodations are, in fact, in the Water Sector. They're not luxurious to many, but they certainly are to him.] Which is very odd indeed! In the midst of a war, I had expected something a bit more... sparse.

[He pauses, gaze diverted out the window to where he knows people and a bustling city await further exploration, but he returns his attentions to the screen shortly thereafter.]

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Saint Walker. The people that had welcomed me into this place have been informative, but I'm inclined to seek out alternative sources, and so I turn to you. If you have any information or advice about this place, you would have my thanks. Or, of course, if you've any information about employment. He seems fairly nonchalant about being here, and he mostly is, except for a couple of concerns about people he's left behind. Sure, giant turtle cities are pretty weird as alternate dimensions go, but he can cope. At least people seem to be friendly enough, and it does sound like his help might be needed.]

Hey. My name's Victor, and I just got here, so I thought I'd say hi and see who else is here. I, uh, don't think many people will recognise me, unless my friends turned up as well and I just didn't see them. Mostly I'm looking for a couple of kids called Molly and Klara, so if anyone sees them can they let me know?

[He shrugs, and looks down at the console itself, now looking a little confused.]

Anyone know how these consoles work? I usually do okay with technology, but I can't even tell what these are made of. I don't want to mess around with them if I don't know if I can read the code... if they even run on code.

[He'll avoid mentioning why he's usually good with technology, though. He's not sure what kind of prejudices people even have here, and cyborgs usually make people a little uncomfortable even at home. He looks up again suddenly, having just remembered something.]

Speaking of which, I'm meant to find a job, apparently. Anyone know anyone who needs a mechanic or an electrician? I'm not officially trained, but I'm good for an amateur and I pick things up pretty quickly.

[ How long has it been since he last sat at a working computer? Twenty some odd years now? Joel stares down at the keyboard. It shouldn't be that hard to get working, he knows there's a power button somewhere on the damn thing.

The last thing he remembers using was his cell phone, even then his memory is hazy on the brand and size. He almost doesn't remember what it had looked like, what he'd had on it or the list of its contacts.

Dammit--focus. Gotta find her. Figure out what the hell is goin' on.

A deep breath.

The device is powered up, and it takes a solid minute for the screen to show up, his eyes roaming over the icons on the screen as if trying to remember what is what. There's got to be some way he can use this to get in touch with someone - anyone. With her. If she's even here, he reminds himself. Which seems impossible given what he last remembers happening before blacking out.
]

This on? [ Joel wonders where the microphone is, but what does it matter. He should be able to speak and it should pick up his voice no problem. ] Am I gettin' through here to anyone?

[ Fuck it. ]

Look- [ Heaves out a heavy and impatient sigh. On edge. Old nerves wrought with anxiety he's trying real hard to keep bottled in. ] -I'm lookin' for a young girl. Just over five feet, has a scar on her right brow, brown-red hair in a ponytail, sorta past her shoulders. She'll be wearin' a faded jacket and a gray shirt with a backpack on her back. She's got one helluva mouth on her too, you can't - Christ--you can't miss her.

[ Like hell will he mention her name on a network of strangers, though, even if it would benefit him more in the end than anything else.

Joel tries to keep his voice steady; he can't afford to break apart on some foreign network. To strangers. Keep it together, keep it together. But if someone tells him they haven't seen her--he might just slip up and lose it.

[The video feed pops on: in front of a blank, undecorated wall, there is a woman of pencil-straight posture, with a serious and somewhat serene look on her face. This is Milla: even-tempered until she’s given a reason to be otherwise. Her hair is still wet - it takes some time to dry twenty years’ growth, and she had planned on wasting no time in finding her friends and a purpose in this world. In fact, with the way its sopping yellow mass sits around her face… her hair had, perhaps, not crossed her mind at all. And despite the relative chill in the air, she has made no effort to put on anything warmer than what appears to be a crop top.]

Yes, hello there. This is Milla Maxwell speaking.

[She nods her wet head once, understanding from the screen that her movement and voice have registered to the network. So while she might be new to these kinds of things, preferring to leave them to the more technologically-minded members of her party to activate and/or destroy, she has executed this video program without an issue.]

I understand that the concept of Maxwell does not exist in this world, and the spirits appear largely unreachable. It is my understanding that this is the last remaining turtle of many... other than the young turtles I have witnessed on my way here. Have these been bred to replace Tu Vishan's dead brethren? And is there a force protecting them? If possible, I would like to assist in that.

If that means fighting, then so be it.

[Okay, she’s gotten to the point. She nods once, then leans into the camera a little bit, eyes widening as she strokes her chin.]

I do look forward to finding my place in this foggy world.

More importantly, who's a guy gotta kill to find steady work around here? I'm not a fucking merchant's helper, you get me? But you need a scout, you need someone or something tracked down, someone's got your property and you need it fetched back quiet-like, that kind of shit, you're singin' my song. [Or, you know, spying and assassinations, that'll work too. But he'd be stupid to be too loud about that in front of too large a crowd.] Last job I took was guiding a guy through hostile territory, real nasty time but I fuckin' got him where he had to go. I don't play around.

Speaking of which, last thing. I doubt he's here or the wallpaper wouldn't be looking so pretty anymore, but I gotta mention it.
