[It's late at night, and Deon looks somewhat distressed. Tired, and mildly disheveled, but mostly distressed.]

Please, I need some help. I was walking on the beach and I found a woman who washed ashore, and she had this in her back, [he says, raising a teardrop-shaped piece of lapis lazuli - quite literally - about the size of two fists.] I was trying to help her to safety, and then she...she disappeared in a puff of smoke, and this was all that was left.

Has this ever happened before?

[Ven gives the camera a wide-eyed look. A girl disappeared? Outta the blue? That... usually doesn't happen, and he'd be lying if he said it wasn't worrying.]

Er... Maybe she teleported? I hope that's all it was...

[Though the jewel's puzzling. Why would she have it in her back?]

I hope so. I just...I hope she's all right.

Hmm. What's she look like? I can try to keep an eye out for her! She might've just been scared...

[It's a new world, probably a little intimidating. If Ven hadn't been informed of the situation, and if he wasn't so accustomed to world travel, he'd probably be spooked to.]

She's, ah...blue. Blue skin, blue hair, blue clothes.

['Blue woman' is maybe not the most detailed description, but it sure is accurate.]

[Okay, that's new, but seeing how he's met a blue creature that looks like a four-armed koala...

He perks up, raising an index finger.]

Hey! Maybe she's some kinda alien.

An alien...?

[Why is he even bothering to doubt this? At this point, that sounds entirely reasonable.]

I just wouldn't expect an alien to be so...monochrome, I guess?

Hmm... 626 was pretty blue, too, but I guess he wasn't all blue.

[He did have that red jumpsuit. And the aliens he saw were a bit... different. Definitely not human.]

Well, what if she's from a world where all the people are weird colors? It could happen!

I suppose. If she is, she might think humans look weird...

Oh! He's this alien guy I met on a space ship. Looked kinda like... a koala, maybe? Or some kinda flat-faced dog, just with four arms and antennae. That, and he wore a red jumpsuit.

[He'd draw up a picture if he had paper on him, though it'd probably come out crude due to lack of practice.]

But I think that's one of those things you gotta expect with other worlds. What we find normal might be totally strange to them.

A four-armed blue koala. [That's not even said with disbelief. Deon's just starting to accept the weirdness now.]

Though I wonder why so many of us come from such similar worlds, supposing an infinite multiverse with infinite possibilities... [Oh no, quick, snap him out of it, Ven! Say something about robots!]

[There's some quiet laughter and a crooked smile. Oh, this guy has no idea.]

Actually, I'm from a place that has all kinds of worlds! I've seen castles with princesses and evil witches, met a demi-god... I dunno what your world's like, but I bet it's totally different from mine!

[That sounds like some JRPG shit, Ven.]

Ah, yeah, my world isn't half so...exciting. Apparently a lot of other worlds have magic. Mine doesn't.

Whoa, really? So you guys don't even have healing spells? Or monsters?

[That's so weird. So weird that his face crinkles up as he tries to imagine this. It sounds so...

Peaceful.]

[Oh, Ven. If you only knew.]

No. No magic, no monsters. [At least, not the kind that doesn't look human. He doesn't say that.]

...hang on, does yours have monsters?

Well, my world's pretty small, but every other world I've seen's had tons of monsters. Still dunno where they come from, but they're called Unversed, but they come in all shapes and sizes, and they're all super dangerous. Not to mention annoying.

Especially Mandrakes...

[Yeugh. They're so tiny, and those gosh darn ranged attacks of theirs are a pain!]

Mandrakes? Like the plant?

[ok ok ok he only knows mandrakes from Harry Potter, cut him some slack.]

Well, they look like plants, but they sure don't act like 'em. I mean, they're poisonous and all, but they shoot these annoying energy attacks.

[He pouts at the mere thought. It brings back some uneasy memories.]
