I have a few things to discuss.

Firstly, with all the preparation for a potential war with the Chihuleans, our focus seems to have drifted away from the enemy on our home soil. The Cultists...We haven't seen anything of them for some time, but we know they are here somewhere. We need to eliminate the local threat so that they can't catch us off guard later. We can't fight a battle on two fronts.

Secondly, we know that Tu Vishan still lives, but we need to decipher what the visions meant and must research how to heal the turtle. The visions mean something, I think we should ask some of the Kedan elders about the symbols and things that we saw in the visions.

This brings me to my third point. We can't run around on our own hoping to get things done. We need to organize ourselves and work together. Look at what our cooperation did with Zatanna's magic...We did that by working together. So I suggest two teams, one to take on the cultists and one to research the visions in hopes that we can heal the turtle.

[Private to Skulduggery]

I know who poisoned Anton. Meet me at the Hotel and I'll take you to him.

[A very lovely face appears on the screen, a little distressed. She's had enough with odd things messing with her mind here. As an angel, she's sensitive to the idea of visions anyway, and she's been unable to escape them ever since she got here, it seems.]

Guys, I had the strangest dream last night, and I don't think it was just... a weird dream... It was too vivid...

Is the number eight important here? Or... stars? They looked like our soul gems...And there were people...

[There's obviously more, but it appears she's still trying to wrap her mind around the entire thing.]

[It's late at night, and Deon looks somewhat distressed. Tired, and mildly disheveled, but mostly distressed.]

Please, I need some help. I was walking on the beach and I found a woman who washed ashore, and she had this in her back, [he says, raising a teardrop-shaped piece of lapis lazuli - quite literally - about the size of two fists.] I was trying to help her to safety, and then she...she disappeared in a puff of smoke, and this was all that was left.

Has this ever happened before?

[On the morning of the 18th, anyone with a radio may hear it crackle into life with the voice of Shay Cormac.]

Good morning, uh... This question may seem a wee bit odd, but... does anyone here have experience in sailing a snow-rigged ship? Also, are there any safe ports on our turtle?

[The man in the video is gorgeous. True, there are dark circles under his eyes as if he hasn't slept well in weeks, but it kind of gives him that "I just stepped off a movie set and wow am I tired from being beautiful all day" look. If you've been around the Midnight Hotel at all over the past couple of weeks you've probably seen him there, shadowing after Anton Shudder like a lost puppy--which is pretty nearly the expression on his face most times as well. He looks lost.

He looks like he's forgotten what he came on here to say, as a matter of fact.

After a few more seconds he perks up, looking up at the camera instead of off to the side as he had been. When he speaks it's with an Irish accent.]

Right, hello. Ah, sorry about that. I seem to have misplaced my... brain, today. Anyway, I've met a few of you already, but for those I haven't, my name is Erskine Ravel. I also answer to "Grand Mage" or possibly "hey you."

[He gives a little two-fingered salute and a slight smile.]

I was hoping...

[He goes quiet, frowning.]

What was I hoping, again? I.... Mm, nope, it's gone. Ah well, if it was important it'll come 'round again. At any rate, I hope everyone's having a lovely day. Pay someone a compliment and don't forget to tip your waitress.

[The video abruptly stops.]

For those of whom you haven't met, my name is Robert Callaghan. I used to be a professor, back home, before I found myself here. And I know things have been a bit...hectic...lately, but I've got some news.

To make a long story short, I can call myself 'Professor' again. I've been talking with some of the Kedan who work over at the university, and they've accepted my help. The educational system here is a bit different than what I'm used to, and not necessarily in a bad way, but...it still could use a bit of help. I'll be working with them to open up classes to both the locals and foreigners, and ideally would like a hand in making sure everything goes smoothly these first few weeks. Nothing too advanced, just some information sharing for those of us who are missing the basics, whomever we are. Everyone has something to learn, or even teach.

[beat]

Now, then, while that's all getting fixed up, I'm still doing some mechanic work on the side- you already heard from my 'coworker', Hiro. Ideally we'll get things to the point where everyone can take care of their own simple fixes, but until then...he's not shabby with a wrench, and I'm not, either.

[Her emotions linger somewhere between worried and pissed off and this is clearly visible on her face. as the camera focuses on her. She takes a deep breath, trying to keep the red from bleeding into her eyes, but if one looks closely, they will be able to see that her normal emerald green eyes are slightly more brown in color as they are stuck somewhere between the two colors.]

It seems that not all of Malicant's influence is gone from Tu Vishan. [she takes a deep breath] I spoke with someone who claimed to be one of his worshipers. Now I know that claiming to be one and actually being one are two different things, but I spoke with this person after they attempted to steal a soul gem.

[She presses her fingers to her forehead and closes her eyes, as if trying to warn off a headache]

For those of you who remember the cultists, you know how dangerous they were. [she lowers her hand and opens her eyes, which have returned to their emerald state] This person claimed that 'her people' made a deal with 'someone in this very city'. She also warned that they 'haven't forgotten Malicant' and that we foreigners would 'pay for killing him.' Either the cultists are connected with the muggings, or someone wants us to believe that they are. Either way, someone is using Malicant's name to gather power.

[another breath]

This, paired with other recent events, leads me to believe that it is not the Chihuelans that are responsible for the muggings. Something else is going on here.

Malcil-san and Berruz are the ones who attacked me- [ a voice similar to Akito's, but more boyish, can be heard in the background "Attacked?! What the fuck are you talking about?!" ] - but I was right when I said they were blackmailed! They aren't kedan - they need the substance to shapeshift so they can live peacefully with the kedan while hiding from the other Chihuelan, particularly Celaunn.

They also aren't responsible for any other muggings! Their supplier of the shapeshifting substance was withholding it from them unless they paid with a Foreigner's gem. Apparently the shapeshifting stuff is running out, or harder to get a hold of...

But the one responsible for ordering the attacks in the first place is either the supplier or whoever the supplier reports to! They used Malcil and Berruz as unwilling pawns, and who is to say it hasn't been the same for the others?

I only managed to find out after I informed the Metalworkers and Snakes about what happened. I told them to lay low and hide... I'm almost sure that I wasn't followed, either...

It isn't their faults! They only want to continue living peacefully!

I need to-

I-

This is so stupid!

[ rambling to himself mostly; clearly very upset about what might happen to the Chihuelans. ]

It must have something to do with... ... Because the Dust poisonings happened after, with older Dust... It probably isn't coincidence, but maybe it is...?

I have to talk to Zanru and Meisheng again- Heojin too, if I can contact him. I need to speak with all of them!

I... I- I'll be back later!

[Even if you don't recognise the voice that buzzes into life over the Welcome Centre issued radios late in the morning, at least three things are pretty obvious. One, it belongs to a teenage boy - it might be cracking a little around the edges, or that might just be some ragged-sounding breathing, someone's ragged breathing. Two, while the young man's panic is clear from the moment he opens his mouth, not all of his words are. And three, who the hell has time to sit around and count all these stupid minor details? Yosuke doesn't.]

... Hello? Hey! Can anyone hear me? Dammit, I need - we need help! There's a girl, she says her name's Xion... And one of them, you know, the ones who've been going after all of us - that son of a bitch, he had a gun, I couldn't...

[He trails off into a frustrated groan. No, he didn't exactly have time to straighten out the entire speech before broadcasting, either. Urgh, of all the times for his head to start feeling slurred too!]

Look, just - forget that, just tell me where to take her! [See, this here is what it sounds like when his voice does crack.] Please... Before something worse happens.

(Despite using the console in the Hotel's lobby, Alayne has made herself as comfortable as she would be in her room. She is sitting at a table with pieces of paper placed around her. Three drawings are easily visible: one is a large wolf, another is an equally large hound with a deformed (or injured) face and the last is a bird in a cage. She moves her pencil over the sketch of the bird, adding shadows.)

Choose an animal for yourself. Then think of the animal others would choose for you.

Are they the same?

(She switches to the sketch of the wolf, adding shading there - particularly around its neck.)

If not, why?

(Also, thanks to her lacking her hair dye, the whole of Tu Shanshu can now see that her hair is auburn.)

[The screen buzzes to life to show her a young woman with bright, warm gaze waiting for the proper moment to speak. When she does decide that the camera is on and operational, she smiles brightly, if a little wearily, and gives her greeting in a gentle but confident voice.]

Hello… I’m Dove, and I’ve just gotten here. I’m not really sure why I’m here, but I was told that was kind of the norm for ‘foreigners’. I expect it’s fairly common for us newfeathers to be a little confused… I mean, really, who would have ever dreamed of a turtle big enough to live on? It’s...a little unsettling.

[She looks down a moment, as if trying to decide what all she should say, then tilts her head the slightest bit at the camera while she sweeps her hair off of her neck to settle between where her wings would be if they were out. It’s obvious she’s comfortable being filmed, but she’s a little lost as to what she should say.]

I’m not entirely sure what I’m supposed to do here, [she admits, now rubbing her arm.] but I’d like to help out in any way I can. And honestly… [A pause, before she laughs softly and looks directly at the camera again.] I’d really just like to get to know some of you. [She has no problem asking to make new friends. Maybe it’ll help her figure out why exactly she was brought here.] So... if anyone wants to show me around, that would be great. Or... just hang out!

Ah, hello. My name is Alistair Krei, though... I don't suppose that means much to most of you out there, does it?

[He frowns for a moment, then shakes his head]

Anyway, I'm looking for some information on the technology here. I had a tablet with me when I arrived, but I don't know enough about the consoles or the rest of the tech here to know if it's possible to interface with them successfully. That said, I'm sure someone's already looked into this--without me having to risk frying my own computer to test it. Anything about the consoles or the general level of technology, or the work being done on them, would be appreciated. For reference, I run a technology company back in San Fransokyo and my own degree is in computer engineering.

Thank you.

[Xion finds it easier to go with voice for this; it affords her a certain sense of anonymity, but doesn't give her the same opportunity to censor and second-guess herself that text has proven to allow, when she's tried to use it thus far. It's still not easy to talk about. Maybe that's why she does this when she does. Part of it is because these thoughts are keeping her up of course, whirling around her head until sleep seems impossible. On the other, it means maybe people are less likely to see this. Maybe.]

Is... there anybody you really, really miss?

[There's a moment, and then she laughs a little to herself, though there's no humor in it.]

I guess... that's almost a silly question, huh?

[Deep breath, in and out. Anybody can probably hear the sigh whuffling across the feed.]

Back home, I had my friends. But then I... left. A lot of stuff had happened, and I just needed to think for a while. But... I hadn't meant to stay away, not forever. I was going to go back... but now I don't know if I'll ever see them again. That's what everybody keeps saying, right? That there's no way to go home.

How do we know if they're okay? People we've... left behind? And... Even if they are okay, even if... if they don't notice we're gone...

[She trails off, not quite sure how to articulate her thoughts on the matter. Whatever else though, it's something uncomfortable she doesn't really care to contemplate. And yet it's hard not to.]

I guess I'm just... [worried] Never mind.

[She wasn't paranoid.]

[...but she was interested. Also experiencing a strange sense of not-quite deja vu. It had been a while--more than a year, including time spent Dreaming--but she still remembered the days when she would have received telepathic visitors into her mind. First, Asti. Then the babies. Granted, the latest mystery message had been a text. But that just made things even stranger: no voice to tie the source back to.]

[She definitely wan't paranoid. Yet. Which was why she made the decision to go public, putting on a smile for her first Network appearance in some time. Like this was meant to be nothing more than a game.]

For the record? The person who sent me that cute little Scavenger Hunt message--

[And it had taken a long, hard period of consideration before opting for that particular phrase. On the off chance anybody else had received a similar message recently, they might see through it. On the slightly more probable chance one of the locals was listening in, they'd think this was nothing more than some Foreign custom.]

[She's settled in a bit more, gotten a little more used to the idea of being stuck on one world. However there was still a bit of a problem. She could use corridors to get around without going outside in theory, but she barely knew this place at all. It was a problem.]

Does anybody know where to get warmer clothes? The last store I went into asked me to leave.

[Sure it was the place that she'd dropped into to try to warm up just after arriving but one of the things she'd heard by now was that relations with the locals were... strained at the moment. It was all a little over her head but she got the overall meaning of it: don't expect to be welcome.]

[Genis is feeling all out of sorts. Yes, he'd been told that this massive headache and otherwise feeling completely lethargic and terrible would be gone by tomorrow, and so he would have considered putting this out there until then, but someone had told him that he looked somewhat familiar, that there was some older girl with the same hair colour. And while there were possibly a zillion people in all the infinite worlds out there that he didn't yet know about that had elder girls with a silver-white hair, the description sounded like a shoe-in for Raine. He had to make the post.

[But Genis looks just... terrible. He's tired and just feels just empty, not to mention hungry. You'll see a 12 year old's face just looking like he could use a really really nice sleep. And as a result, he's not afraid to be cranky. Granted, he's always unafraid to be cranky, but that's his excuse at the moment.]

I really hate to gripe about this first thing, but come on. I come straight from one world where I'm hated just for being a half-elf, and now I'm in a world where I'm hated just because I'm not from around here? Greeeeeat. You know, I'm beginning to wonder if there even is a world out there where people don't discriminate against other people for completely stupid reasons.

I mean, what'd you guys even do to the kedan anyway? Did you go out and kidnap everyone's kids or something? Because if it wasn't as big as something like that, I don't know what you could have possibly done to get them to hate you so badly.

[He says this with the most deadpan delivery ever. He then just shakes his head as if just in disbelief that he's already stuck in a world worse than the one he'd just left.]

Okay, at any rate, I don't know who exactly is out there listening to this, but... hey. I'm Genis Sage.  I don't suppose any of you know someone named Raine, would you?  Anyway, as for me, I guess I'm just a student at the moment, though I really haven't been attending school for a while since I've been travelling around my world for the past while with my sister and my friends.  Despite that, I could probably still graduate at the top of my class even without having been diligent on all my homework last year.  [He says this with a remarkable amount of pride despite his general malaise of feeling empty and tired.]

Anyway, I'd say that I'm looking forward to meeting all of you soon, but right now I'm much more interested in waiting for this massive headache to go away first. Though I'm told that's supposed to go away tomorrow, so that's one thing going my way.

[A lot of time had passed since Zatanna's last appearance over the public Network.  Over a year, in fact, if one took into account the time spent in the Dreaming Realm.  Although, even by Foreign time standards, it would have still been several months.]

[The reason for mentioning such a thing would be, to any familiar with the now seventeen-year-old mistress of magic, she looked...different.  Taller.  Her facial features were sharper now, tendrils of hair around her face significantly wavier.  And she had filled out significantly.  Almost reminiscent of a certain
image that had graced the screen once before.  Only now, it wasn't magic that had done this to her.  It was Time.]

Has anyone else noticed the air around Keelai feels...I don't know...lighter, somehow?

[She wasn't just referring to the air, either.  Eyes closed, hands placed at either side of her temple, the lightness she described was a sense only those with an affinity for the Mystical Forces around them would take note of.]

Maybe it's just me, but I can't help thinking that there's something different about this place now.  You know, aside from the obvious.

[For a time, Aya debating sending this particular transmission through radio.  In the interests of total transparency, however, she decided she simply did not care if the locals were to catch sight of her broadcast.]

[After all, from her perspective, she was doing nothing wrong.]

It has been brought to my attention recently that there are many residing in the city of Keelai who possess an inadequate knowledge of technology.  [The statement was meant to be factual, not insulting.]  As such, I would be willing to offer my knowledge and expertise to any and all who wish to learn.

Currently, I am employed at Stark Industries as an instructor.  However, it does not make sense to me that the local populace should receive instruction that those of us designated as Foreigners do not.  And although I am currently prohibited in bringing Foreigners into my classrooms at that location, there are various other resources I could utilize.

[A Pause, to allow this bit of information to sink in.  Followed by a second request:]

In addition, I am currently seeking any carbon-based life form who would be willing to aid me in an experiment.  It is both non-painful and non-invasive, I can assure you, and would require little more than a series of full-body scans, and perhaps some verbal inquiry regarding the precise biometric specifics of your unique species'

[She says, with her usual serene tone, as if it were truly nothing major.]

For those who wish to contact me about these opportunities, my name is Aya.

Thank You.

Good afternoon, everyone. [Ryou bows his head, but he lacks his usual smile. In place of it is nothing but slightly nervous determination. He knows it's not the brightest idea to be using the network for this, but it's the only way he knows how to contact a lot of people, and fast.]

I have something that might help us. [He pulls a map up to the screen for a moment, he only shows off a small corner but it's clearly of the under the shell.] I have this map and access to the diorama that I built for Wreath-san, along with the notes he wrote on it. It covers the entire top of the shell, as well as the tunnels underneath it. I know pretty much everything from memory too.

Just contact me and I'll take you to it. I want to help in any way I can.
