5. [Video] - Backdated to after his audience

[It isn't raining and his clothes are also wet, so it couldn't be due to having a shower, however Kon is dripping wet and he looks annoyed. Not at the fact he's wet, but at something else. Or maybe someone because he's staring angrily at the console and his jaw looks clenched tightly. He's not making this private, or asking to see people, he's about to blow and his blood is boiling.]

Let me tell you all straight up that that guy you know? The one with the lame ass jeans and t-shirt uniform? That guy is not me! That guy is an idiot, he's nothing like me.

[Kon has seen what has to apparently come in his future and he doesn't like it. He's pushed out with his TTK and a few things are knocked off the desk and from a small table in the background.]

You all kept things from me. You all lied to me. Why? Aw little Kon-El, let's not tell him anything about the big bad future. Did you not trust me to know this stuff? Is that it?

[He really doesn't think that she would know a lot and anything she did was probably from Supes. He takes in a deep breath and shakes his head.]

Showed me. I wanted to know what you all knew and...I saw it. I saw Conner and what happened with him. Last thing I really remember was coming out of a trance and...then sort of talking to...Raven?

I know that...I die. He dies. I didn't see that though. The first Tim here told me that.

[Hey, she's a reporter, she makes it her business to know as much and as accurately as possible. And his reaction doesn't make sense...

But it's bizarre--and a little sad--to hear him refer to 'Conner Kent' as being someone else. Someone not him.]

What do you mean 'what happened with him?' A lot happens with and to a lot of people. What made you this angry?

[She's different from the reporter he knew. Oh hang on, that's something him and Supes had in common. Dating reporters, how cool. He watches her and tries to decide on what would be okay to say, and really...most of it because of who she is and knows. He bites his lip and pinches the bridge of his nose.]

Everything. Literally no one except the first Tim told me anything. You all know Conner. You all know events that happen that are a big fucking deal and no one has mentioned anything. That no one thought to tell me that Lex Luthor is my human donor and that makes me dangerous. He's here and no one told me what that relationship is.

[He leans back.]

I feel like everyone looks at me differently. That they expect me to be like that guy.

[The pinching the bridge of his nose reminds her so strongly of Clark.

As for the rest... well. Some of this can be smacked down. Some of it... Well, she feels some 'mea culpa' about all this now, but then again, there's no much she can do about it except try to run damage control.]

Not mentioning Luthor, it honestly didn't occur to me. Maybe not to others either, I can't speak for them. It doesn't exactly play into day-to-day life--or matter.

You've never thought that maybe having Kryptonian genes might make you dangerous before all this?

[She is being slightly careful to not mention names. She isn't able to do nigh-unbreakable Batcryptions, after all; even partially encrypted or not, she'll try to keep certain things less-than-findable.]

No, I've known I can be dangerous. I mean I don't have any of the powers yet, but even my tactile telekinesis is dangerous. I meant more...he's here and if he says something, I snap.

[He hadn't thought he was very dangerous, if at all, until he saw what he did and saw how utterly helpless he seemed to be in stopping it. He didn't know that when the phrase was said that he was trapped. Kon just saw it, didn't feel it.]

For what it's worth, we're pretty sure he's not the Lex we know--certainly not from our time, even if he is. He probably doesn't know whatever it is.

That said--this changes things... how? It's not you, it's mind-control, and it isn't as if that hasn't happened before, including the many people not genetically programmed [and how she loathes Lex for that].

Wait, really? Cause I think it's voice activated but...if he doesn't know the phrase then...I guess it's...not as bad.

[Kon relaxes just a little, but he rubs at his arm.]

It's not just the whole mind-control thing. It's everything.

'Everything' is still a lot. Do you need to come over to talk?

[She isn't generally the patient-listener-sort (interviews don't count.) But he's family, and maybe there's things she can offer a non-biased-by-inherent-optimism perspective on he won't get from, well, Clark.]

[His brows raise and he thinks about it for a moment. He swallows and clenches his fists on the desk and nods slowly.]

C'mon over, then. I'm at the office in Earth Sector.

['Office' being the suite they gave her and which she doesn't really use--she and Clark live in Water Sector. So hers is now a base of operations for the attempt at a paper.

Further translation: I'm not at home. If you want to avoid Clark for a bit, you can.]

[Kon could really do with avoiding Clark right now. He wasn't in the right frame of mind, far too angry and shocked. So he nods and turns off the video feed after saying he'll be there soon.

He isn't Superman, so his speed isn't as fast when it comes to flying. He's getting there though. Slowly.

So it takes him maybe an hour to actually find where the heck he's going and knocks on the door.]

[There's a muffled 'Coming!' from inside. It takes Lois a minute to actually get to the door: she finishes a sentence before actually getting up.]

You boys are using the door so much more than I'm used to--but I guess there aren't skyscrapers around to make it inconvenient, right?

[She waves him inside.]

[He smiles at that before he steps in.]

Yeah. But I guess if I had really thought about it, I still woulda looked for a window.

Hey, uh...thanks again.

No problem. Come in, have a seat.

[After shutting the door, she turns to lean on it and eye him.]

All right. Is there some specific part of 'everything' that's got you more worked up than the rest?

[He walked further in, not taking a seat yet, and turned when the door was closed. He lowered his head at the question and remembered all the...well movies playing out in front of him.]

The Lex thing. Not that I lost control but that...he's my human donor. I always thought it was Westfield.

Oh, and I guess with Supes, the whole...becoming a Kent? I mean, back home we don't have an amazing relationship. I don't think he likes me that much then, I mean progress, we've talked and I was accepted into the family but...It still seems really...rocky.

[Lois softens.

Family is absolutely nerve-wracking, as she is all too aware. Between Lucy and the General and her mom's cancer, and Clark's extended family... And that's hard enough even without Luthor in the mix.]

Okay. We'll take one thing at a time here. So, becoming a Kent, because I've seen it enough times and had a bit of a rough time getting there myself. My own fault, but for the sweetest, most caring people in the world, the Kent family is pretty angst-fraught.

What about it bothers you so much?

It's not the becoming a Kent, I mean I've met then twice and they were really nice. It's more that suddenly I'm accepted into this other family that's human and a part of Supes that's hidden from most people. That...he never told me it happens. Cause that's a big thing, y'know? Suddenly I'm liked enough that I've been given that option.

This is Clark. He's not good at telling people anything substantive about his family. [She rolls her eyes. She's been on the other end of that before.]

I didn't say anything because, well, this is his mess to clean up--like with Kara. I'm sorry if that's made it harder for you. As far as Clark goes, I suspect he didn't really know where to begin. [Her tone, however, makes it clear that as much as she loves him she doesn't excuse him, as it's now hurt someone.] Probably because of the history you two have.

No, I didn't expect you to like, tell me or something. [He takes a moment as he lets that just sink in and actually process what she's saying. He knows that from where he is, they have such a rocky relationship for the most part. He chews on his bottom lip and puts his hands behind his back.]

I guess. I mean...I suppose it isn't easy for everyone else either.

No. Family makes everyone stupid. [She sighs.]

Maybe he didn't want you to wonder what it was you needed to do to get that acceptance sooner rather than later--especially as it wasn't about you to begin with.

[But now he is wondering. He won't act on anything because of the fact that here they seem to be okay.]

I don't mean it in a sorta attention seeking way, but I thought it was. I mean, I knew he was pissed at CADMUS for making me so I always figured it was at me as well. Man, nothing is ever easy or straight forward. Girls, Supes...the future, it's all confusing.
