[TEXT] Leo to Team, COME IN TEAM
[The cart ride into Keeliai is long, exhausting and stressful. Leo presses himself into the furthest corner to hide (which still leaves him painfully visible) even as his sharp blue eyes peer through the slats, taking in as much of the alien city as possible.
On one hand, this is the most amazing thing Leo's ever experienced, an exhilarating adventure straight out of Space Heroes. On the other, he's never felt so alone, out of control and exposed in his life. Sure, he always wanted adventure, but not without the guys - and not hauled down a city road in broad daylight, surrounded by people turning their heads in curiosity.
At least the few kedan on the street who take a close enough look into the open-backed cart to spy him out don't scream or run. But there are some stares, and he can feel the undercurrent of hostility like a flame inches from his skin. There's a tension in the air in some parts of the city they go through, a hard look to some of the kedan when they see someone not like them...
Leo slips into his appointed building like - well, like a ninja, or as close as possible while lacking the cover of darkness. When he gets to his temporary quarters he leans his shell against the door and sighs wearily; alien robots and plant monsters are one thing, but this? This is an entirely new level of crazy.
Water had seemed a natural choice when the kedan gave him options. He's glad of his choice now as he splashes some from the room's small fountain over his head, then winces as he does the same to the burn mark forming on his shoulder. It's not serious, but Leo's entire arm aches and tingles from channeling Justin's electrical shock through his katana. He's certainly pulled smarter moves.
Hopefully whatever jerked him "sideways" during that explosion also took his brothers through in slightly different places, and he can link up with them again once they all get their bearings. He knows the team can handle this situation, but first? They have to be together.
He'll start canvassing the city come dusk, one Sector at a time if he has to. But until nightfall, Leonardo has time to kill, and he isn’t about to sit around doing nothing.
Settling in at the console, Leo sets it up for a text message - and pauses, considering his options. This is a public network; he has to get a message out that his brothers will understand if they're listening, but that won't arouse too much civilian curiosity or alert any enemies.
There is one thing... He'd batted around an idea for a code word with Donnie. The problem being, it was never official - Leo just hadn't anticipated a realistic situation where it would be useful. The idea was just idle talk.
He hopes that if Mikey or Raph are alone out there, they'll recognize his reference. Donnie will catch on at least, if he's listening. One way or the other it's the best Leo's got until he can search the rooftops.]
ANy New Yorkers out here? if you know the 2nd Time About shop on Bleeker, contact me ASAP
[Ryan to Dauntless, come in Dauntless...]
Aalso. Look, I got the story from the kidan ans I know i can;t be the first person to ask. But Im looking for any leads on how t get back to my own world... stories, rumuors, anything.
Thankyou.
[Please don't let him be alone out here. Leo presses Return.]

...if this is another false alarm, another not-brother, then better to get it out of the way. And if this is somehow someone from New York who doesn't know about them, well, better to not use video until he knows better.]
Depends on who's asking. [SUSPICIOUS]
text
well Im not the Corps Cadavers.
[One of your favorite comics, Raph. Who else is gonna know that?]
video; because i love agitating leo
[Geez, you and Donnie both. WHO CARES IF IT'S A REASONABLE RESPONSE TO BEING DROPPED IN AN UNKNOWN PLACE
AND IT'S NOT LIKE HE WANTS TO SEE YOUR FACE OR ANYTHING]
Nevermind, I don't care. Turn on your webcam.
[audio - ENCRYPTED ALL KNOWN TURTLES]
[He doesn't ask anything else and doesn't mention the encryption just yet, not willing to jump to conclusions, but-]
[he also hesitates quite a bit before allowing the alternate Raphael and Leonardo into the discussion, but in the end it was probably better to let them than risk driving more of a wedge between them all by keeping secrets about a new arrival. If it was a new arrival.]
[Raph, shhh, shut up.]
[audio] (unaware of encryption if it applies)
[Which... makes it REALLY problematic trying to figure out how to meet up without broadcasting a location. AUGH.]
[audio][TURTLE ENCRYPTION PARTY EVERYONE GET IN HERE]
It's fine, it's encrypted. I-I need to ask you a few questions. I guess. Ignore Raph. Don't turn your video on yet, please.
How old are you. Do you know who the Kraang are? If yes, ally or enemy?
...And, uh, how old is April?
[of course he'd work in an April question :|]

[That's an ... odd, but good, barrage of questions. He isn't quite sure why Donnie thinks it's necessary to do THIS much identity checking but maybe he's seen something Leo hasn't.]
I know the Kraang. They're definitely our enemies.
And your girlfriend's sixteen, Donnie.
[Oh come on you can't pick her as a reference and not get ribbed. Leo's just glad to hear you're okay, bro.]
Wait. what do you mean "ignore Raph..." [He looks at the unread message and sees it's marked as video.]

[And this is the first time Bryn's ever addressed this point publicly. She still doesn't know what to think and has been in denial about it for weeks now.]
Re: text;
Actually, clones WOULD be an alternate explanation for certain things around here. Donnie said it was an alternate universe thing, but he could always be wrong.]
I dont suupose they told you why they thought wewere all clones?
text;
[Which is disturbing and a half and...she didn't delve too deeply into it, despite the fact that it answered so many questions she'd had. Like why Jhirem hadn't responded to her prayers for help. Why her abilities could be affected by outside influences here.]

Re: text;
Look I just got here and im trying to fnid some people. youre' clearly not one of them
so if you dont;mind im goingo get bakc to finding tehm
[Paranoia buddies yay! Except for the fact where Leo resents having to fence questions from
nosy humanscurious non-turtles.]text;
Re: text;
video
[Have an anthropomorphic Echidna on your screen.]
And nope, you're definitely not the first person to ask...I think that's the obligatory first question for all new comers [insert awkward laugh] there hasn't been a definitive answer though.
[But wait, she waves her hands.]
That doesn't mean you should give up, I haven't! Arguably I'm new, but that's beside the point!
[text] h-hahaha AWESOME
Leo's still not turning on HIS video. Buuut it's kinda nice to see a friendly non-human (mutant?) face. And this - okay Leo doesn't know what an echidna is so he has no idea what to even call her - but whatever she is, she's friendly.]
Yeah ive hard people say theres nothing solid. but no one has any nondefinitive aswers either. i'd just like somewher to start. Evn a dead end.
Dont s\worry I Have no intenton of giving up. we;re going home if itsthe alsst thing i do!1
[Hmmm his typos get worse when he's in Brave Leader Soapbox mode.]
[video forever~] non-human characters unite!
Yeah, can't prove or disprove the possibilities...and I've heard that there's a mainland where sometimes people find things that belong to them from their world. If I happen upon a Chaos Emerald I could probably learn how to jump through dimensions! Well, maybe...I don't claim to be that good yet.
[And it's not easy to admit she's still a trainee.]
That's the spirit...er...
[And of course she can't not notice the typos.]
...is something wrong with your communication device?
[Leo is perma-text unless otherwise noted] ALSO I was a bit of a Sonic comics fan back in the day.
Jsut not used to typijng.
[She's suspicious about his concealed identity. EVASIVE MANEUVERS, CAPTAIN! Get her focused on something else, quick!]
... did you just say yo could jump through dimensons?
I collected the comics for a long time...now they're in storage somewhere
Yep I hung on to mine, got a pretty good run. Also SatAM rules.
Is it just me or was SatAM a little better than Sonic X?
I didnt pay much attention 2 X but I got that impression yeah. SatAM was chock full of awesome
I was sad to see it end
V true. It's out on DVD now tho :D I need to get it
Ditto. I've been meaning to get it for years XD

Raph doesn't really want to talk to this Leo, but he does want to get a feel of him for himself. Far as he's concerned, his Leo's a notorious bad judge of character. Getting it secondhand from him wouldn't mean much of anything.
He has to do this himself.
So he secludes himself in his little-used suite, sits in front of his console for a good ten minutes, teeth grit, then finally types up a response.]
u mean 2nd time aruond
[text] fashionably!
He's already met a New Yorker who doesn't recognize the shop at all. This ID could be someone from a different New York, who recognizes a shop on Bleeker called Second Time Around. Or, it's someone from Leo's New York who got the name wrong.
He can't tell, and he certainly doesn't know if this is another turtle. ]
In my neck of the woods its 2nd Time About .
[Ummm let's see. How can he ferret out the truth? The only shared reference he can actually rely on is April, but who knows how different theirs is. And he won't just hand out her name. It's like shooting in the dark.
Leo, you are too goddamn paranoid.]
DO you know the owners; kid? her family is irish., I think.
[text]
[Or however you spell it. He knows his spelling is bad, but he doesn't really care. Leo will get the point.
He knows who you are, kid. His Leo's already talked to him. He's just messing with you right now because he feels like being an asshole.]
im not a kid
specaily not to u
Re: [text]
But despite this success, Leo winces. He has REALLY got to do something about these typos. First message off the bat with this guy, and he manages to screw it up. Leo almost types "sorry," but that rankles too much - he didn't really do anything wrong. No, he can handle this without sacrificing his pride at the altar.]
I wasnt callling You 'kid." I meant the owner's daughter.
[SOME of that was typed carefully at least.]
