[TEXT] Leo to Team, COME IN TEAM
[The cart ride into Keeliai is long, exhausting and stressful. Leo presses himself into the furthest corner to hide (which still leaves him painfully visible) even as his sharp blue eyes peer through the slats, taking in as much of the alien city as possible.
On one hand, this is the most amazing thing Leo's ever experienced, an exhilarating adventure straight out of Space Heroes. On the other, he's never felt so alone, out of control and exposed in his life. Sure, he always wanted adventure, but not without the guys - and not hauled down a city road in broad daylight, surrounded by people turning their heads in curiosity.
At least the few kedan on the street who take a close enough look into the open-backed cart to spy him out don't scream or run. But there are some stares, and he can feel the undercurrent of hostility like a flame inches from his skin. There's a tension in the air in some parts of the city they go through, a hard look to some of the kedan when they see someone not like them...
Leo slips into his appointed building like - well, like a ninja, or as close as possible while lacking the cover of darkness. When he gets to his temporary quarters he leans his shell against the door and sighs wearily; alien robots and plant monsters are one thing, but this? This is an entirely new level of crazy.
Water had seemed a natural choice when the kedan gave him options. He's glad of his choice now as he splashes some from the room's small fountain over his head, then winces as he does the same to the burn mark forming on his shoulder. It's not serious, but Leo's entire arm aches and tingles from channeling Justin's electrical shock through his katana. He's certainly pulled smarter moves.
Hopefully whatever jerked him "sideways" during that explosion also took his brothers through in slightly different places, and he can link up with them again once they all get their bearings. He knows the team can handle this situation, but first? They have to be together.
He'll start canvassing the city come dusk, one Sector at a time if he has to. But until nightfall, Leonardo has time to kill, and he isn’t about to sit around doing nothing.
Settling in at the console, Leo sets it up for a text message - and pauses, considering his options. This is a public network; he has to get a message out that his brothers will understand if they're listening, but that won't arouse too much civilian curiosity or alert any enemies.
There is one thing... He'd batted around an idea for a code word with Donnie. The problem being, it was never official - Leo just hadn't anticipated a realistic situation where it would be useful. The idea was just idle talk.
He hopes that if Mikey or Raph are alone out there, they'll recognize his reference. Donnie will catch on at least, if he's listening. One way or the other it's the best Leo's got until he can search the rooftops.]

Aalso. Look, I got the story from the kidan ans I know i can;t be the first person to ask. But Im looking for any leads on how t get back to my own world... stories, rumuors, anything.

[Please don't let him be alone out here. Leo presses Return.]

Also, he doesn't KILL PEOPLE. Just robots and plant monsters.]
Yikes. He's that bad?
[Hmmm. Mike would rather be without his family than let them come here.... He can respect that. Not understand it per se, because Leo just wants him family to be together - an incomplete team is never a good thing - but respect it.]
Well, I won't push you back through the portal. If you want to stay here, that's okay too.
no subject
Woah woah woah, let's not start talking crazy talk here. If there's a portal you can feel free to push me through it. Same goes for Transporter beam.
Interesting as it is to be a turtle riding on the back of a giant turtle in a world where just to the left of right versions of my brothers exist alongside Superman? I'll still take living over April's Junk shop anyday, thanks.
no subject
Deal.
... Wait. The back of a giant...? Are you -
Okay, that can't be real. You're pulling my leg, Mike.
no subject
no subject
Well congratulations, Mike. My brains are officially leaking from my ears.
[He's a turtle, on a giant turtle, with OTHER versions of his turtle brothers and himself running around, in a different dimension. Someone else mentioned clones too.
And all this is following on an exceptionally rotten day where he trusted the wrong kunoichi, who promptly abandoned him and his brothers to an insane three-way battle in close quarters with the Kraang and one extremely dangerous octopus kitten monster (100% her fault, that thing).
YOU KNOW WHAT TODAY CAN JUST BE OVER AT ANY TIME NOW]
no subject
...
Okay, he does a little.
Hey, he stifled the urge to Woo Hoo!, give him some credit here.]
Don't worry about it, you'll be on your feet and right as rain in no time. Your kind always is.
no subject
You are?
Well, it's business as usual then. Carry on.]
My "kind."
[He's starting to dread whatever the heck it is will come out of your mouth next, Mike.]
no subject
[The of course is heavily implied.]
1/2
[Mike's got three of them to compare, after all. Plus he's used to this multiple-versions thing. Leo? Not so much just yet. And he has yet to properly compare all of you guys to his real brothers.
LOOK IT REALLY HAS BEEN A LONG DAY OK
...
He's a little afraid to ask what ELSE they all have in common.]
2/2
Well, don't worry about me. It'll take a bit more than alternate universes on a giant turtle to keep me down.
[Aaaand there's that Leo cocky attitude. It's true, if he gets knocked off-center all you have to do is sting his pride and he'll get right back on his feet.]
no subject
Me? Worry? Please. Worrying is what Donatellos are for.
...
And Aprils.
no subject
A joke at (a) Donatello's expense? Leo will smirk to that.
But hey wait a minute.]
April. Worried.
...
Really?
[Obviously not the same April who's so gung-ho about getting her father back - not that Leo doesn't sympathize! - that she'll head out by herself into a Kraang-infested warehouse rather than wait 'till dark for proper ninja backup. Or the April who took initiative to bug the Purple Dragons conversation and discover Shredder's plot to fill the sewers with a chemical inferno. Or the April who insisted on bullying her way up a building so she could jump the rooftop onto Shredder's stronghold and listen in on a meeting. Or the April who was aggravated at taking the "lower this rope when we give the signal" position.
Yeah. Definitely not his April.]

no subject
I mean, she gets angry when we don't let her go with us into incredibly dangerous situations, for crying out loud.
[With less than a year's training, April's nowhere near ready to accompany them on Kraang infiltration missions. On the other hand she IS incredibly capable. The girl lands on her feet.]
no subject
Heck, when we first moved in she tried to talk us out of leaving the building at all.
no subject
["A force to be reckoned with" is pretty accurate.]
So - you're living with her? But, what about her - ...
[OH WAIT. When Donnie was cross-examining Leo he asked April's age. An older April might not live with her aunt.]
Maybe I should mention that our April is sixteen.
no subject
Well.
That certainly better explains the Donnie's Girlfriend jokes.
Huh.
So...April, my April at least, is a Graduate Student. And we've been crashing with her ever since Splinter went missing.
no subject
But all this information about April, while interesting, is nothing compared to that last comment.]
He's missing?
[Leo... can't even imagine. Splinter is so strong, nearly invincible in Leo's eyes, and he's ALWAYS there for them. To have him vanish, to not know where he is or if he's okay...]
I'm sorry.
How long?
no subject
no subject
He can't imagine, and he doesn't really want to. But neither Mike nor his brothers had had a choice. That scenario is going straight into Leo's box of Nightmare Fuel, right next to the Rat King's mind control and Shredder incinerating the entire New York sewer system.]
I'm sorry.
[no Leo YOU ALREADY SAID THAT think of something else]
I mean, that's - that's awful. Do - did you have any leads?
no subject
[There's a smirk playing about the edge of his voice.]
We didn't, until we did. We found him right before, well before I ended up coming here. Alive but sleeping.
no subject
Good. I'm glad he's okay - or alive, anyway.
['Cuz Mike didn't specify and that omission might mean something. Leo's learning to curtail his assumptions about his dimensional analogues.]
no subject
...
Five if you count my brothers...wherever they may have ended up.
no subject
[Oh man this conversation is heavy. Fortunately, Leo is not in the mood to be discouraged or mopey. Especially not when he's talking to an alternate reality version of his little brother who sounds like he could use a Leonardo right about now.]
Well then. Sounds like I'd better get to work finding a portal to shove you into.
[You're gonna be okay, you'll be reunited with your brothers, and Splinter's going to be fine. It might take a little while to figure out, but Leo doesn't mind buckling down for the long haul.
Turtles first.
Even if they're not brothers.]
no subject
A smirk that would only serve to heavily punctuate just how false this faux solemnity he's about to employ is.]
It really does. And the fact that you're late in getting here only makes matters worse. This is my most desperate hour. Help me, Leonardo. You're my only hope.
