An interesting turn of events, isn't it?

Not unlike many of you now, no doubt, I find myself without lodgings. Temporary, one can only hope, but if falling sky debris is going to continue to be a problem, some form of shelter is better than nothing. If there is one among you willing to provide accomodations, it would be appreciated.

Anyone who enjoys butting their noses into business not their own need not reply.


I may have also found a few personal belongings scattered about in the wreckage. Should any of you be missing something particularly dear to you, we may be able to arrange a bargain.




[ ooc; I'll get to replies tomorrow after work, but if you want to say your character's lost something in all the chaos then feel free to strike up a conversation! Loki may or may not have it in his possession, and he may or may not charge ridiculous temporary ownership fees to give it back. ]

[Aw, poor boy 8( At least Amaterasu manages to read the entire message, even though she falls asleep in the middle of it. She does however have the heart to help him. Normally she'd just offer to fix his home, but the locals are interested in salvage so they might not like it if she clears everything up instantly.

So here. A message painted in black on the wall opposite the console.

[ Excellent, his pleas for help are considered boring enough to put wolves asleep. Loki will lament on that later, right now he's just going to be mildly interested in the fact that a wolf is offering to help him out.

He keeps his console on text, since he doesn't quite trust the video feed with how it flickers in and out. But consider him intrigued. ]

How very kind of you. Though I certainly hope I am not being invited to a doghouse.

[She should... probably speak, otherwise there's no way to answer that with a shake of her head.]

It is a proper house.

[ Oh she does speak. That's interesting indeed, but he'll admit this is easier than speaking to puny humans. ]

Perhaps you could give me a guided tour.

[dungfu]

... It is a house in the Earth sector. You do not need a tour.

So much for an attempt for us to get to know each other.

Very well. At the very least, I will need directions.

[Okay weird.

But the paint vanishes from the walls and she writes quickly with her tail directions from the entrance to the sector to her house.]

[ You're the one who invited him, you've only yourself to blame, wolfy. ]

Your offer is greatly appreciated, creature. Expect me to drop by shortly.

[Barks in acknowledgment. Though she'll have to educate him about her name later-- the 'creature' thing is going to get old soon. For now... probably a nap outside of the house in case the kid gets lost.]

[So yes.

Napping outside while waiting for her new roommate is a good idea. She's so not worried about falling debris or anything getting her in her sleep. It's not like she'd get severely injured by that anyway.]

[ Loki, on the other hand, is a bit concerned about falling debris. Hence the reason he eventually shows up at the wolf's place with his helmet. Can't be too careful when things - heavy, sharp, metal things - are falling from the sky.

He finds the right place soon enough, and there she is just outside. He walks up and bows formally in greeting. ] You were right. It is a proper house.

[She jerks awake when she hears the voice, and yawns and stretches to wake up properly. Then she levels the boy-- no not a boy-- with a look that says 'I told you so'.

Though... he is curious. He's not human, she can tell that much. Humans don't have the same kind of scent or power he has.

She cant put her paw on what he is though.]

[ Not quite like the wolves Loki's seen, so immediately her different markings and fur patterns catch his attention. Already he's pretty certain he's made the right decision - far more tolerable than humans at any rate.

She seems curious, at least. But he has no interest getting to know each other on a first name basis, so he brushes past her without so much as an introduction. ]

I'd like to take a look around, if it's not too much trouble.

[dungfu]

[Huff, rude. She brushes past him and points her tail towards the bedroom.]

You may sleep there.

[Considering she sleeps on the ground? She has no use for beds.]

[ The bedroom is really the only room he concerns himself with. A roof, and somewhere to sleep when the need is great, is all he needs. It isn't as though he's the type to visit or be remotely sociable, so as long as it wasn't a literal hole in the ground. ]

You've my gratitude.

[ His hand might gently pass over her ears as he steps inside to inspect the bed. Maybe. Just a quick scratch. ]

[... yes okay, Amaterasu is a giant sucker for physical affection. So one little scratch is enough to make her happy. But of course she wants more, so she follows him very closely.]

[ It's when he sits on the bed provided that he notices she's perked up a bit and followed close, and clearly it's because of that little scratching from before.

Since there's a possibility of paying rent with pettings, Loki shrugs and brings his hand to her ears again for another round of scratches. ]

[dungfu]

[Ooooh. She scoots even closer and if she puts her head in his lap... well.

Personal space? What personal space?

At the very least she's not sitting on his lap. Yet.]

[ Whelp.

Personal space is one thing, yes, but she is a fluffy wolf and not a smelly puny human. Loki can forgive her this one infraction, but he might have a few words if this is going to be a continuing occurance. ]

I suppose I can begin expecting this from now on, when I choose to reside here? [ scratch, scratc, scratch those ears. ]

If you are very good at it, yes.

[No hesitation whatsoever. She might even consider keeping him if he's very very good.]

You will have to be the judge of that.

[ A few more scratches, then it's on to the other ear. This isn't so bad, but if she's shedding all over him then off she goes. ]

Very good.

[Actually, she may be starting to fall asleep right now. Ah, who cares, this is good.]

[ ... Loki sighs. He probably should've expected that under his talented hands.

Regardless, he may as well win favour for the moment. So he'll continue petting her ears for now, but rest assured he'll nudge her off once his hand cramps. ]

[Is that snoring? Maybe it is. Either way, she's probably napping. On him.]

[ Hrm. Just this once, Loki reminds himself. It's not the worst thing, so he'll continue to idly pet her head for now. But he would prefer it if this wasn't going to be a Thing That Happens. ]

[She yawns loudly and snorts-- welp okay fell asleep there. She needs to do things and even if pettings and sleep seem like a good idea, there is work to be done. Like helping others fix things.

She pulls away and shakes out her fur.]

Do you need something from the outside?

[Politeness is a thing, right? Yes. Because now she has a guest and... other household stuff is a thing too.]

[ Oh, finally, she's awake. Loki sets his hand back in his lap, glad to have his personal space back now.

Though really, it wasn't the worst thing. But it's the principle of the matter. ]

No, that's alright. Everything I had in my possession is either on my person, or burned into rubble and ash.

[ all his canned peaches. D: ]

[Her lips turn down. Oh baby no why you talk so calmly about that ;D;

She scurries off to a far corner of the house and comes back with her basket of big fat fruits and vegetables and sets it down just inside the bedroom. He can eat it if he wants.]

[ ... oh.

Well. That's nice of her. And he quite likes being catered to - it's something he's more than accustomed to at this point. Don't mind him helping himself to an apple or something. ]

You are a most gracious host, I see.

[If it weren't for the fact that his bit about not wanting people who like to stick their noses into things they shouldn't, Livewire would have probably let this one go unanswered. But now she was curious as to who she was dealing with.]

Maybe I've got some room, maybe I don't. What's in it or me?

[Or, more specifically, which reason was behind that dismissal. If it was just some old curmudgeon, let somebody else take care of 'em. But if it was the not-entirely sane type of eccentric loner that usually made Metropolis so interesting...]

[ Loki keeps his feed on text since the consoles are messing up, but well. Even if some of these offers aren't really honest ones, then at least he doesn't have to be too nice in return. ]

Did you miss the part about having lost my current abode, and therefore also all my belongings and valuables? There is little I can offer in return.

And I don't even know you. Last thing I wanna do is invite some goody-two boots over to suck up all the fun. Or a stuck-up jerk who's gonna start actin' like he runs the place!

[Which she's already kind of suspicious of, given the whole bit about wanting privacy. In someone else's house.]

I'm not talkin' about wantin' payment either, just somethin' to make it worth my while! Course, you'd probably wanna have some way to buy your own food 'n stuff. Unless you're one of those fasting types, anyway.

I believe I am the one making the final decision of where I am to relocate to. Perhaps I may be so put off by your behaviour and rudeness, I would rather camp out under a fern.

Yeah? Lemme know when you find a three-story fern with climate control.

[And indoor plumbing, running water, etc. Things ferns are typically not known for. At least, she's pretty sure they aren't known for any of them. Not like she paid attention in school.]
