[And here's a particularly pensive looking Enjolras, who has, truth be told, spent the last week or so avoiding almost everyone and everything. His gaze is somewhat far off, his face clearly touched by grief, but he is holding strong enough up to a point. Even so, he HAS come here for a reason.]

I would ask where, besides the turtle's head one might go here to spend some time alone? I require...reflection in a place that is not this room and where I might be un-interrupted. Might I have some recommendations for such a quiet place?


[And then he is hesitating for a moment, clearly, still focused on the camera as he
thinks, hands folded at his side.]

And in what ways have people here come to cope with, and accept the unfairness and griefs of this world, such as they might be? It is proving to be difficult since my arrival here, and I would welcome strategy if you might share it.

[Really, Enjolras should have expected that he would not get an answer so much as a visit. Either way, he is opening the window to let him in.]

Ah trees, of course. [This DOES actually make sense to Enjolras. It has been a very long time since he attempted climbing them himself, but even so. It's legit. Or something.]

I am told that, yes. Though I do not remember...anything of this place. What would YOU have me answer, given that?

Why the Corsican is... Do you truly wish to know my feelings on this matter?

Yup! you're Enjolras alright. [ He jumps down, gives the other a clap on the shoulder (though he's short, and it winds up to be his mid-back) and helps himself to the cupboards where there's no doubt some food. ]

[It's almost disappointing that Enjolras doesn't get a chance to continue that rant. Almost. He had been about to launch into things after all, and his mouth had been open, but now the desire for the rant is ebbing now, as he trails behind Gavroche. There isn't much in the way of food other than the basics he's picked up, but you're welcome to whatever, Gavroche.]

What else would I have been? [And that is a serious question, yes.] Are there beings who take the shape of others here as well as dragons?

Do you suppose so much then? Surely there are some limitations even towards what we ourselves have been conditioned to accept here, yes?

Perhaps you are right, Gavroche. [Let's face it, he usually is when it comes to things.] And I have met those from other planets. The idea of it though...I still have trouble getting my mind entirely around that concept.

Summin' wasn't there, but now it's here. An' why question it, if you didn't know it was possible before? Easy-easy. 'Cause y'ain't never questioned you were livin' in Paris, in France, an' that might be weird to other people here, too. Most people, huh? Think we're all from olden times but it was jus' like yesterday for us when we were on the barricades.

So why are we allowed to say they don't exist an' it's weird seein' 'em if they think the same thing about us? Y'ain't bat no eyelashes at them 'bout where they're from, then they shouldn't do it with us. An' 'sides, dragons are very nice, I've learned.

That is...quite wise of you Gavroche. [And sounds very like something that Combeferre would say at that. ] I suppose that you are right and it is not so much our place to question things as it is to find answers to the problems we have been presented with. And think of one like Temeraire's Captain Laurence to whom we are a future in a world where dragons and his Corps do not exist.

When looked at from those terms, as though we are the stuff of stories, you quite prove your point. Have you been spending much time with Combeferre lately perhaps?

[As for girls, and boys, and money, well...Enjolras just isn't going to touch that one right now.]

Temeraire's right fun though, huh? I like 'im a lot. I don't wanna go back if it means I don't get to see him.

Nah, s'Jehan, yeah? He's a real fun guy to be around, too. But in a different way. Like how you're fun to be around, but in a different way.

[Fun is not exactly how Enjolras would describe Jehan, really. To him, Jehan is more, well, goodness, light to some great degree, someone who understands the deeper matters. Fun is not something he would have considered to associate him with, somehow so he is a bit surprised here. And even more taken aback at Gavroche's words. He knows very well that HE is not particularly fun.]

I would guess that that IS the uniqueness of... You consider ME fun? I...thank you. I do not believe I have been told that before. It's good you've been enjoying time with Jehan. There is much that both of us could learn from him, I think.

I do enjoy the dragons, yes. I wish that I remembered more of Temeraire from before my...return. [He hesitates on the word there because it is hardly a return to him.] But I have still enjoyed getting to know him again. You are on his crew, aren't you? I've volunteered myself as well.

That WOULD be for the best for Marius, I think. As much as having him to help here has been good...I feel wrong about it somehow. As if I were taking advantage of him.

[This is not the kind of thing Enjolras would say to just anyone Gavroche's age, but it's different with him. He understands these things entirely too well, Enjolras thinks.

If she WERE to return, I would hope Marius stayed with us, but I would feel more as if that was his choice instead of something else.

[Okay that question? Is getting Gavroche a bit of a doubletake and a gape for the moment as Enjolras considers how best he can find a way of answering it.]

I never managed to find the time for that...sort of thing before. There was France, and there were the people. And besides that...I never considered I would have such. It would have been...unfair to her.

[And, really. It's not as though he's personally interested, but Enjolras is not going to go there just now.]

That IS true, for most of them, some QUITE a lot.. [This means you, Courfeyrac, if you can hear from wherever you are right now.] And there is nothing wrong in liking those things, if it comes to that. They have mostly...never been something I thought about it. If you did decide you wished to like a lady, or a gentleman like that later on, there would be no harm in that, but nothing wrong with not doing so either. You would still be you, regardless of that.
