[When the video turns on, there sitting in the chair is a tanned, black haired, wild looking woman, with a glass of something in her hands. She's drumming her fingers against her arm from where it's crossed, a huge tribal tattoo decorating the arm. She certainly doesn't look happy to be here, but oddly enough, not that freaked out.

When she starts talking, her voice is quite distinctly Australian, but if you asked her where she was from, she'd certainly not reference 'Down Under'. The voice is also a little husky, harshened by the fact she's exhausted and had a drink to help quell her anxiety. Not that she'd ever admit to it.]

Seems like this place is fulla lost people, but not the people I'm lookin' for. [she pauses, taking a long drink from a glass she's holding. She seems strained, like she's frustrated it's have to even come to this, to stretching out and asking for help, and she's hesitant to start.]

Lady Luck is not shining on me today. [she gives a wry laugh, and takes another swig from her drink.]

Listen, I don't remember if I was here last time--I don't remember anything that happened last time--but if anyone remembers me, contact me as soon as you can. Especially you, Vanille. [She's secretly hoping that Vanille is the only one who answers. She doesn't know what she'd do if anyone else she knew did. Her sacrifice would have been for nought. They could be dust in the wind for all she knew.]

'Till then, somebody recommend a good bar. If I'm gonna be stuck here, I might as well enjoy myself and right about now, I really need to punch something.

[ Jack is immediately cautious because sometimes spirits where he's from are referred to gods and goddesses, it depends a lot on what kind of culture they were being acknowledged by so the teen didn't want to trod on anyone's beliefs. ]

I don't know what a "fallsee" is but I know Lady Luck, I promise. We're, um... [ how to explain this ] We run in the same kind of circle.

[There's a long pause.]

[ Ouch, well... that was direct. ]

[She looks suspicious.]

Like demi-gods. They're supposed to protect us.

[She crinkles up her nose, looking frustrated. So far she;s been hit with walls in the form of nobody knowing what she was or what she was talking about. She couldn't have slept that long.]

But they spend more time grabbing up people and manipulating them than they do protectin'.

[ Jack brightens immediately. ]

Oh, there are demi-gods here! Actually there's a lot of them now, but they've never used that term and they're all good people. And they definitely don't go around grabbing up people.

I'm not one of them though, just a regular ol' spirit.

[she doesn't seem convinced, and him confirming that? It actually unsettles her more.]

--A lot? How many we talkin'?

[A pause.]

A spirit? An' I suppose I can see you because I'm in this place, huh?

Well... [ he's counting in his head ] Half a dozen? They all know each other, it seems?

Yes, probably. If you believe in spirits then you've already got half of what it takes to see people like me normally.

[She grumbles something and then downs the rest of her drink. Half a dozen isn't nearly as much as Cocoon had, but it's still half a dozen too many.]

I believe in Lady Luck. But she's not shining on me today.

[ Now that the initial fluster from the original mention has worn off, Jack remembers he's supposed to be being helpful. ]

Can't help much with luck, but is there anything else that you need?

A map?

[She laughs weakly.]

I can do that!

[ He fiddles with his console for a moment and then a map image of the city is sent to her screen. SEE HE CAN DO THESE TECHNOLOGICAL THINGS. ]

[She blinks. She had been half joking, but she does smile.]

Huh. Thanks, kid.

[ he chuckles ]

It's Jack. Jack Frost, miss.
