[ well this is. weird. and Rachel has some heavy experiences with weird, weird is practically her best friend. so the fact that she looks a tiny bit confused when the transmission starts, the fact that she's sort of wincing in that 'hey, I'm the new kid in class, sorry if I start glowing and rambling on about things that make no sense' way she's adopted since she gained her abilities, is saying something. she can't really be here, she knows she has things to do back home, the Oracle doesn't exactly get a vacation, not when Percy's missing and three new heroes show up to camp, only one of them can't remember anything, and they've just left on this quest, and it's all very stressful and worrisome-- rightright, she can't be here.

but she's already got the 411, already asked around until someone pointed her in the direction of her suite, even managed to get someone to show her how the computer works. not that she's tecno-challenged ( she had a flip phone back home, okay ) but she doesn't want to mess anything up here. if this is some kind of test, some weird game the Gods felt like putting her through even though se's as mortal as an be, she's going to do it right.

even if she has a really bad feeling that this has nothing to do with Apollo's terrible sense of humor. ]

So. Hi. [ here's a quick wave ( are there scribbles on her palm? yes ), a nod, and a You-Betcha-This-is-at-Least-50%-Forced grin ] My name's Rachel Dare, I'm a Gemini, and I'll draw a very flattering portrait of the first person that volunteers to show me around this place, completely free of charge. I've already started a little map, but- [ she's looking at her hand again tilting her head ] -it's really just the directions to get to where I showed up, to here. Which isn't much. I'm a visual kinda girl, so you'll have to be patient enough to let me sketch while we walk around. I can handle being dropped into an unfamiliar place with little to no background information, but if I'm going to be living here? I'll need a map and for someone to point me in the direction of the best place to get strong coffee as soon as possible.

Oh and hey, Apollo, if you can hear me? [ she's squinting at the camera now, not maliciously, but in a 'challenge accepted' way ] I've totally got this under control. [ nodnod, oh yeah, then she reaches up to shut off the feed ]

And I think I'd really like that, actually. A sky-view of the city, I mean. I should warn you though, I got to take a helicopter ride over New Zealand with my dad once, so the bar is set pretty high when it comes to air tours. [ it was pretty much the only family vacation she ever really enjoyed herself on, and that's because she booked the tickets without telling her parents it was for the Lord of the Rings tour. ahem ahem. anyway. ]
