I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find an army of rabbits? [Because her room? Is kind of having a carrot bonanza behind her. Probably enough to last her a long time if she ate nothing but the darned things. Not that she can normally conjure then, but side-effects were a pain if they happened without her consent. At least it's stopped now, and she's thinking trying anything else that's magical is a big n o until this resolves itself.]

Alternatively, anyone needs more vitamin orange in their diet? I mean, I'm all for a healthy living, but I rather like being more flesh than yellow. I can trade them for whatever, it's cool. [And yes, she will be nibbling one of those carrots as if this was normal.] I bet they'd go well in your dinner plans.

[Jaime goes for another bundle of carrots... watching where he steps this time.]

You wouldn't believe just how many people use magic incorrectly. The consequences are no laughing matter.

Luckily, or unluckily, it'll probably end soon. I don't see any more popping up. [She looks grateful for that, because as much as she wouldn't admit it outloud, she's feeling drained-- probably less so than she should've been given she suspects the staff took the brunt of it-- from both the magic output and the distress she can feel from the city.]

You sure you don't mind helping me out? I can't imagine picking carrots to be a very interesting activity.

I could believe it. Just... ick. I can't imagine how getting stuck in something looks and I'm not sure I want to.

It's cool, Traci. [Jaime smiles.] It's an excuse to hang out with you, and you're way more interesting than the carrots.

[Dorky and cheesy? Heck yes. But it's all true: being long distance, and a superhero, means never getting to be with Traci for reasons that aren't job related. Carrots aside, the mundanity is actually really nice.]

[Aww, Jaime. She knew there was a reason (okay, many reasons) she missed you.] Corny, but sweet. You always know how to make a girl feel special. [Also, getting a kiss on the cheek there, Jaime.] I think we've gotten most of them. I don't want to scan for anything in case I make it worse.

Milk's a lot more complicated than carrots, especially if I'm making the carton too. [Yep.] You should take some with you and share it with your friends here. I'm imagining with the way things are going, ration's going to be a lot tighter from now on.

Speaking of your mom, she's really fierce isn't she? [Well, that's her last memory of her before coming here.]

[He laughs.] Yep, that's my mom, all right. She probably scared the Reach more than Guy did.

I'm not-- haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet. [He furrows his brows, curious.] Is something wrong with the farm?

[Best mom.] Pretty sure she could scare Guy more than the Reach. [It's Guy. That guy. You don't just scare him, okay.]

Not that I know of, but I've seen the kedan getting restless with their produce and I figure it's a good thing to check out to see if it will be a problem.

[And at that he laughs harder.] Did you know that she did? He showed up at my house, totally ready to attack me, giant green fist and everything, and she completely tore him down! It was pretty great.

You want me to come with?

[Baaack up.] Seriously? How did she even manage that? [Because seriously. Giant green fist versus the nice lady.]

You know I would, but only if you've got nothing else lined up. It's better to see the situation with our own eyes, after all.

She's nice to you cause you haven't caused any problems, but when my mom wants to be scary? You better believe she can be scary.

Please. I'm bored hanging around here doing nothing. I'd rather be out investigating.

I'd like to think I made a very good first impression on her. [Hey, those cookies were expensive! Not that they got to taste it anyway since she ended up here with it when she woke up.]
