[Russell looks markedly out of place in his scruffy, well darned clothes, against the clean, empty suite behind him. His hair is messy, falling a little into his eyes, which are wide and nervous. He's looking a little haggard, and still in shock.]

Uh. Yeah, so. They said this was like my own private radio or somethin'. Don't really have anything much to say... [he coughs.] I think I just got Shanghaied into fighting this war against, well. I can't say his name can I?

[He sighs and pushes his hair back off his face.]

I guess, if anyone needs any... there any industry on this. Turtle? [He sounds unsure.] Is that right? [Laughs]. This is stupid.

[Arthur's message is short and to-the-point today. No muss, no fuss.]

Any egg-sitters concerned about "Robin's" idea about the eggs being some kind of sinister plant intended to infiltrate our minds - I can train people in certain kinds of subconscious security which should help prevent that kind of thing from happening.

Contact me if that's something you think you want. If you don't know me already, my name is Arthur.

[That's it. He's been here long enough that he's way past dealing with formalities, or even much secrecy about what he does. Almost no one seems to care, after all. Why should they, with so many people throwing around superpowers and magic?]

Anyone ever find anything out about that?

[The console turns on to the sight of Teddy's anxious face and in the background the viewer can just make out the shape of a giant egg laying in a pile of blankets on the floor.]

I'm calling all turtle egg parents here. I'm a new...,uh parent I guess. Man that is really strange to say. This is my first time taking care of the egg by myself. I guess I was just wondering what are some of the ways you other egg parents take care of your egg. Like, do you ever leave your apartment? Because I have to admit the idea of walking around out there with the egg is kind of intimidating.

So...yeah. Help? Please?

[Teddy scoots in closer.]

I have another question for you guys, and this one probably applies to a wider group of people here. I know that a lot of people here have powers or special abilities that are unique to them. That's probably old news to everyone, right? What I'm interested in knowing is what kind of powers or abilities does everyone have? Think of it as a kind of survey. It might become useful in the future to know that we have twelve magic users and only two telepaths or whatever. [If not it will certainly satisfy Teddy's geeky need to categorize as many new heroes and their abilities as possible in his head. He's definitely missing Wikipedia right about now.]

You don't have to give your name if that makes you uncomfortable. Feel free to reply with an anonymous text if you want. To start things off, I'll go first. My main talent is shape-shifting. But I also have some other handy abilities like super-strength and a healing factor. [The anonymous text idea is really for people who want to keep their established secret identity a secret. Teddy feels more comfortable being open about his identity here where he's surrounded by other people with powers, but he knows there are probably others who don't feel the same.]

[Arthur is cognizant of the fact that numerous people have experienced sensory loss lately, so he's going full video today, to make sure as many people as possible can see and/or hear him. Hopefully. Not that he expects anyone to go for it, but he figures he might as well offer.]

Some people are missing memories. Can't say I know what that's like, but I've got an offer - it's possible dream share might help recover some of those memories.

[He leans back a little in his seat, making a note of something offscreen in his moleskine.]

It's not a guarantee by any means - there's no way to know if it'll work on any given person unless we try it. And it would require anyone interested to put some trust in me - give me access to limited parts of your subconscious. If that thought makes you uncomfortable, then it's probably best we don't bother. And there are... risks.

But I've been doing dream share for almost ten years. I know the ins and outs of it. If anyone wants to give it a try, I'm willing to help.

[He reaches to turn the feed off, then pauses, his face darkening a moment.]

By the way, have we made any progress on catching whoever it was that did this? Knowing who they are, why and how they did it might give us some answers.

Hi. My name’s. Korra. I’m the Avatar.

[There’s an awkward pause before she says her name. The cadence in her words is a bit off, a combination of never using the network before (or not that she can recall) and the unknown expectation of who will answer.]

Some of you may know me, I guess?

[Guh, she hates trying to cover it and just tackles the heart of the message.]

Look. I can’t remember anything since I was ghosted. [Or whatever the hell people are calling it.] Not this city, this turtle, or anyone.

But a doctor said that if I just hang around familiar things and people, even scents, then it might help me remember some things. I just, can’t force myself to remember them. So if you recognize me or know something else that could help I’d be grateful.

I can't tell you what happened. I wasn't a part of this world, but now I am again. Maybe I was dreaming, maybe I was a spirit, I don't know.

[Kurt looks pretty thoughtful as he shows up on the network. He's noticed a lot more posts showing up. The particular, familiar 'I'm new' kind of posts. He taps at his lips before he leans forward a little more.]

I wonder what it means now that people are showing up again. Why such a long period between the last group that showed up and this one, is it taking too much out of the Emperor?

[He frowns and sits back.]

Is this what it's going to be like now? A long break between people showing up or was it just a blip?

[He shrugs as if to move on because wow, that's a lot of questions.]

Anyway, hello to all the new people that've shown up.

[It's been awhile since Charles has last spoken to pretty much anyone but he had a fairly good reason for his radio silence.

That reason being the psychic hangover from hell. It had caused him more complications than he'd originally expected up to and including his own powers sliding in and out of his control for a brief period. Not a situation he was inclined to admit to anyone else, even Ororo but unsettling enough that he'd kept to himself until he was certain he had full control over his facilities.

However, he is here today with a brief public service announcement.]

Ah, yes, so then small matter than some of you may have already been aware of but if not I feel it important to impart, none the less, that attempting to make direct mental contact with Tu Vishan should be avoided.

[There was a pause, a wince and then he muttered softly.]

Definitely, avoided at all costs. Not only is it depressingly unhelpful, it is particularly painful as well.

[Not that anyone else might have had the brilliant idea of attempting such a foolhardy unwise thing but what is the point of making a spectacular mistake if you weren't willing to share the results of your folly with the rest of the class.]

[With Ariadne most definitely gone - awake, presumably, though Arthur still can't figure out how she could've woken up but he still can't - Arthur is now alone in this place.

In some ways, being alone opens up certain possibilities that he wouldn't have considered available as long as others were here that he needed to protect. It's just him, and he knows how to look after himself, and he doesn't have to worry about keeping stories straight or anything like that.

Besides, the dream hasn't collapsed yet; what's a few more projections knowing some things?]

I want to get in touch with anyone who had knowledge of those archways in Sinbrilee. [He still disdains the whole idea of magic, but it's clearly a delusion he'll have to work with for the time being.] Especially the dreaming ones.

There are some, ah, tests that I'd like to run.

Greetings, everyone! This is Doctor Walter Bishop speaking. [He is looking directly at the camera and standing in front of a blank green chalkboard. As he gestures at the viewer, white powder can be seen on his hands and arms.]

I have been here for several weeks, and I have noticed that there are no pigs on this island. At least I have not observed any indicators of them: there are none around, and typical pork products, like bacon, are not available for consumption.

This is an issue that must be rectified! [He clears his throat. We are entering the spiel!] I have come up with three main avenues of research. [He backs up a little from the camera and reaches for the top of the chalkboard. He deftly flips it around revealing white text under the headline OPERATION "BRINGING HOME THE BACON".]

First! [He points: 1) ACQUIRING PIGS] We figure out a way to find some pigs of our own. It is possible there are pigs in this dimension, but we simply have not discovered them yet. A thorough exploration program should be pursued if one is not underway yet. Or, we reach into another dimension [A pig dimension? That's what Belly would call police stations back in the seventies...] and bring a breeding population back here with us. The technological implications there are exciting, but the hurdles severe. And as delicious as bacon is, having the ability to jaunt across dimensions would have better uses than importing pigs.

There are also ethical and legal implications in interdimensional pig rustling.

Second! [2) AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE] This one is more likely to succeed, but less likely to be satisfying. We develop a substance that is as close enough to actual bacon as is possible. Some kind of flavoured, lard-fortified tofu perhaps. I ask culinary experts to weigh in.

Third. [3) SYNTHETIC PIGS] We may be able to recreate the pig genome and incubate embryos using your typical splicing and in vitro techniques. This would be biotechnologically very demanding and we have very little to go on with the pig genome. It would require a great deal of trial and error. As far as I can tell there are no species in here that are even remote relatives of the Sus scrofa domesticus. Some of you may point out the similarities between the human genome and the pig genome! The differences are still too vast. It would be easier to create a pig out of a turtle than a human.

[There is a faded fourth line of text that has been scrubbed away, but which eagle-eyed viewers might be able to read: 4) THE LONG PIG OPTION).

There you have it! I hope for a very productive discussion. Any help or advice would be warmly welcome, and if there is enough interest, perhaps we can hold a symposium on the question in the near future!

[Walter reaches for the console and the feed terminates.]

[ Jack's voice is one of the biggest changes that he'd been affected with: higher and lighter, even without the soft tone that he's speaking with right now. If you haven't spoken to him since the misspell took hold, it might even be hard to identify the audio only feed as his, unless the console ID is checked. ]

Traci didn't show up for work today so I went to check on her. Her suite is empty... it looks like she's gone home too.

[ A pause, almost like he intended that to be the end of the feed and then he speaks again, this time with resolve and a lilt much more like Jack Frost. ]

I know this has been mentioned offhandedly a few times in the past but I hadn't heard of anyone taking it on, so I'll be doing it from now on: keeping track of everyone whose come and gone from Tu Vishan. And I don't just mean their names and dates... but what made them important while they were here.

[ another pause, and the faint chirp of Baby Tooth in the background ]

That's all, I guess.

[No video today, because like hell is Arthur going to just flash his pimply teenage face across the network for everyone to see. While normally this would put him into hermit mode, something else has happened which has made him come to the network - for help, maybe, though he's frankly grasping at straws here.

Mostly, he doesn't want to admit the truth to himself.

Ariadne probably woke up. Without him.]

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Ariadne - brown hair, brown eyes, aged 23, 5-foot-four - I'll pay you for it.

And if anyone has caused her harm, they will live to regret it.

[ Once Ai had gone through her belongings, making sure they were all still in her bag, she set it down to the ground before turning her attention back to the console that was set up in the suite. She stared at it for a few seconds before pushing herself off the bed. In a minute she had it on and her hands busy typing away at the keyboard.

After she finished reading up on what she could, Ai stared at the console, then got up from her chair to pace the room. Fifteen minutes after that she flopped onto the bed, face first into the pillow. All the while she was mentally arguing with herself as to the degree of absurdity this all was.

It wasn't until a little while later did she finally give up and turned on the video function of the console. An unimpressed seven year old with strawberry blonde hair was currently occupying the screen, her chin in her palm as she looked into the camera.
]

I'm not sure how to go about this, but I suppose it would best for me to introduce myself. [ Because she found no record of anyone she knew being here, she wasn't putting in any effort to pretend to act like a child. Not that she's any good at it to begin with. ] My name is Ai Haibara and as you can already guess, I am new to Keeliai. I suppose the first thing for me to do is to find out how to be of use since there isn't much else I can think of doing for the time being.

[ She pauses to let out a small sigh and shake her head. There was a deadpan look on her face. ] Honestly though, the back of a turtle? This all feels like it should be something out of a video game or a manga.

[Bryn hasn't made a network post of her own since her arrival, and so it seems that an introduction is necessary first. Hair pulled away from her face and smile wide, she waves at the screen.]

Hi everyone! I know I've been a little quiet on here lately so there are several of you who probably don't know me. My name is Bryn Zethir, from Askoupur which I'm pretty sure none of you have ever heard of before. That's okay, honest.

[That should be enough.]

So, with the rationing lifted and the possibility that things are going to get at least somewhat back to normal again, it occurred to me that there's something we're kind of missing in this city. There are tons of restaurants and bars in this city but not one of them is owned and run by a foreigner. Now, I've been working really hard for a while now and saving my money, and with some assistance [Thanks, Bruce <3] I now have enough to buy or rent a location, renovate, and stock it for business.

And here's where all of you come in. While it's my sincerest hope that you'll all come in for a meal or to enjoy some live music, this won't be possible without some people to come work and help out. So, if anyone has any skills for the following jobs and wants to talk to me about being hired on a part or full time basis, please let me know! For those of you who already have work but may be interested in picking up a bit of extra juulan, there will also be contract positions available for the renovation process, once I pick a location. Also, as I hope to install a stage, there will be opportunities for performers of all stripes to have a place to entertain.

So, I think that's it unless anyone has any recommended vendors I should look into for food, drinks, or tobacco. Otherwise, please check out the list of job opportunities and let me know if you're interested. I'll let everyone know when we're open for business. Thank you!

I am not alone, I gather, in detecting a change in the air here. It is rather like waking on the very first day of the Season, with all the possibility that lies ahead—or waking the morning after the last day, with the happy knowledge that one need not be at home to anyone that day. We have, I suppose, escaped the fate of Des Esseintes's tortoise.

[Magic being flooey? Not a problem. Okay, it is, but she figures it'll right itself sooner or later, preferably sooner. The problem was it was draining her fast, and when she can't control her own magic, well...]

I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find an army of rabbits? [Because her room? Is kind of having a carrot bonanza behind her. Probably enough to last her a long time if she ate nothing but the darned things. Not that she can normally conjure then, but side-effects were a pain if they happened without her consent. I'll figure out how to transport it later.
