[A device clicks on, and a face appears on the network: a thin one with a large nose and brown messy hair. And glasses. Needs the glasses to see, you know. He grins, all teeth.]

Alright, then, this is neat, isn't it!

[He's not really saying that to anyone in particular. Don't worry, happens all the time. You'll know if he's speaking to you directly. Most likely.]

Never seen this before. Well, seen things like it, but nothing's ever quite the same in two places, yeah? Bit rubbish that everything in here's made of wood, makes my screwdriver a bit obsolete, but still...

[He laughs, and steps back from the device, standing with his hands on his hips. He's in his suite in the Wood Sector. Pretty nice place, if you ignore the lack of sonic-ing abilities.]

Right. So. I'm the Doctor, just the Doctor, thank you, and I suppose I was brought here, same as all of you. Now who's got something interesting to tell me about their time here?

[A pause, and time to ruminate over a question that's been in his mind since he got here.]

And does anyone know what this planet's base is? Doesn't seem like most other ones. A bit harder, strange in places. What's it made from?

[ Also an eyebrow raise! It's like looking into a pointy mirror. ]

You inquired after the nature of the planet, not the creature. However, if you would like more information on the Turtle, I have gathered some during my time here and would not be adverse to sharing it.

Yes, the turtle is in one of this planet's oceans. I have heard that it makes landfall on occasion, but have not been present to witness such an occurrence personally.

I will send a report. [ Here's a report! Yes he has a whole report just waiting on standby for an occasion such as this. And it's super dry and boring as hell I'm so sorry Doctor. ]

[ Look at this face. It is the face of a man who takes himself way too seriously. Do you know how painful it is to say "we're on a turtle-island?" It sounds so ridiculous! ]

Technically it is organic and moves, and therefore cannot be classified as an island. But... in effect, yes we are.

[ LET'S JUST CHANGE THE SUBJECT ]

If I may inquire, why would wood make a screwdriver obsolete? [ Spock may or may not have had to look up what a screwdriver actually was before asking. ]

[ If Vulcans ever gave long-suffering sighs, Spock would totally do one here. ]

If you insist.

It is not a standard screwdriver, then? I was under the impression they were... manual. And possessed a limited array of useful applications.

[ Spock squints, and tilts his head, and then looks down at his own piece of noise-making light-up technology. Welp that is definitely not the same as the tool listed in his tricorder. ]

Our realities appear to have disparate definitions of what a "screwdriver" is.

[ He does look intrigued. Any technology that doesn't appear 21st Century Earth-like in nature is a breath of fresh air here. ]

When are you from, Doctor?
