[Sadie turns the feed in a fairly okay mood. She has a box in front of her, and it seems to be making squeaking sounds]

First--whoever finally got the turtle moving again and whatnot? You are amazing. I thought I'd be okay not having my magic but I was wrong and those aren't words you'll hear from me all that often.

Second. [She taps the lid of the box in front of her] So when I got here, there was a boy. He was a very rude boy, who made fun of my boyfriend. He hit on me as well, but mostly he insulted my boyfriend. I am very protective of my friends and family, so insulting them is the fastest way to get me angry at you. And people don't like me all that much when I'm angry. Things tend to blow up and people usually spend a few hours as a banana slug or an earthworm or something. [Or there are threats of slugification] Not that I could do anything to this boy, as almost as soon as I got here my magic stopped, but I swore I'd get him back. So, when I woke up this morning and realized that oh, hey, I can blow things up again, I went to go find this boy.

[She opens the box and pulls out a brown hamster who squeaks]

Say hello to the nice people, Leo. [Boy, it feels good to have her magic back and turning people into critters (and then using said critter as a sort of warning that, hey, you might not want to mess with her). She smirks.] I have to say, he's much cuter as a hamster.

It was sort of the deal most of them made with their parents when they moved to Brooklyn with us. They can go to New York and learn ancient magic provided they go to school and learn algebra. It being a school for the gifted was a bonus.

Right. That's the sort of thing parents would be worried about, huh.

Well, if you're letting your kid travel from Rio all the way to Brooklyn to learn strange and ancient magic that's been forbidden for forever, you need to worry about something I guess. English is a little easier to worry over than probably anything else.

Are your parents like that, too?

Uh, they're, uh. Well, Mum's been dead since I was six and Dad's...complicated.

No, it's fine. I mean, thanks to the whole Duat magician thing, I still get to talk to them, which is something most kids can't say but...yeah, they're dead and most of our conversations tended to be about how to keep the world in one piece. Not biology or whatever.

Still, you'd think I'd know better.

At least they're still there for you, I guess? I mean, as much as they are.

[She doesn't ask about Jason's family]

Anyway--how many of you guys are there? I mean, if Drew's one...

It's hard to be sure, really. Even counting just the ones at Camp Half-blood, there's a small army. And at Camp Jupiter things get more complicated because you've got second and third generation Romans living there.

And it's mostly kids? Not, like, adults or anything?

A lot of older demigods live at Camp Jupiter. Not so much at Camp Half-blood.

But they've got Chiron, and Ba--Mr. D., so it's not like they're completely on their own.

Huh. Who's Chiron?

He's a centaur. Trainer of heroes.

A what tar?

Centaur. He's half-human, half-horse.

[She's friends with a forever-pregnant hippo lady. This doesn't faze her, but is still cool]

But there's no adult Greeks?

I'm actually... not sure. I never asked what the deal was for them, after Camp.

Huh. You'd think they want to keep tabs on them and all that, so they could help with the kids.

That's how it works in New Rome. It's more a city than a camp.

But even then, it's not like the adults are automatically in charge.

Well, no, adults don't always know what's best but for training and all that.

Wait, when you say "camp", do mean it's a real camp?

[Because if Drew goes to this camp, and Lacy goes to this camp, then she's apparently attending school with two demigods and oh gods why does this always happen to her]

That...honestly, doesn't seem like the best idea if you want to not die.

Believe me, camp's the best option if you want to not die.

The outside world isn't exactly friendly to people like us.

...point. [Since it sort of sounds like they're all in one place, there's probably not other safe places to retreat to, like Egyptians have with their nomes. If you want to stay alive, you're going to go where everyone else is] If that's the case, though, why does Drew attend BAG?
