Voice;
Some time ago, I posited the idea of building a ship. While it was met with derision by some -- [You know who you are.] -- recent events have convinced me that there is no other reasonable course of action.
We are entering a time of ease now, and I feel very strongly that we must act before the next catastrophe arises. While we have the opportunity and the materials, we can construct a proper ship. This will give us the freedom to explore beyond the turtle's shell, and give us a means of escape, should it sicken again.
I believe there is enough wood from the homes destroyed when the satellite fell to salvage and build a modest ship. It will not hold all of us, but it is a fine start. With more mobility, I believe we can find the materials we need to make a proper go of it.
For those who question my qualifications, I am an Admiral of his Majesty's navy, formerly in the employ of the East India Trading Company. I have more than the proper qualifications to oversee the construction and voyages of such a vessel.

Re: video:
That is what they are calling it. It was not long ago -- are you recently arrived?

[And he won't lie, either, about how weird it is to converse with someone who's obviously so out of their time. Everything in this damn space was an anachronism, though, so Lex won't wonder about it for far too long. He's interested in advancing, in progress, that's all.]
Very much so, Admiral. I don't forget significant events and I can guess the space junk falling to this city classifies as such an occurrence. [Space junk. Like hell this is some alternate world or-- or whatever. There were satellites in orbit around his Earth, and that's that.] I know very well what a satellite is, don't bother trying to describe it to me, but did you see it for yourself? What insignia did it have?
Re: video:
[James, for what it's worth, finds it very uncomfortable speaking with all these modern individuals. Especially the Americans, who have wreaked bloody havoc on the perfectly lovely English language.]
I believe you would term it significant. It was followed by an invasion, of sorts.
I do not know if it had any sort of insignia, though I believe it did have a name. You might address your query to Mr. Arthur Curry. He salvaged a fair amount of it.

[It's getting progressively more difficult to convince himself this is some hoax of his mind, or some hoax of his father's. A frown finds its place on his features at the mention of it. These are new ideas in his head.]
Thank you for the information; I'll have to look into it.
[A branded satellite-- who's name would come up? But this broadcast was for a boat. An idea of salvation. They shouldn't look to the stars when those only spat things back at them, not now. Not when Lex isn't involved in the exploration.]
Do let me know if your idea ever gets off the planning stage. [He's not saying he thinks it ever will... but that's kind of exactly what he's saying.] I'm sure any outcome will be beneficial.
Re: video:
I certainly will. Any contribution you could see clear to making would of course, be welcome.
[He will see your tone, and match you with obvious cynicism that Lex actually will contribute in a meaningful way. But maybe he's wrong. After all, the man did use the proper form of address, so he's not entirely hopeless.
(Small victories. If Lex knew what he'd gone through with les Amis, he would not be shocked that James kept harping on the "Admiral" thing.)]

Rest assured we'll keep in touch, Admiral. [The feed clicks off, and that's enough of that.]
