[ Once Ai had gone through her belongings, making sure they were all still in her bag, she set it down to the ground before turning her attention back to the console that was set up in the suite. She stared at it for a few seconds before pushing herself off the bed. In a minute she had it on and her hands busy typing away at the keyboard.

After she finished reading up on what she could, Ai stared at the console, then got up from her chair to pace the room. Fifteen minutes after that she flopped onto the bed, face first into the pillow. All the while she was mentally arguing with herself as to the degree of absurdity this all was.

It wasn't until a little while later did she finally give up and turned on the video function of the console. An unimpressed seven year old with strawberry blonde hair was currently occupying the screen, her chin in her palm as she looked into the camera. ]

I'm not sure how to go about this, but I suppose it would best for me to introduce myself. [ Because she found no record of anyone she knew being here, she wasn't putting in any effort to pretend to act like a child. Not that she's any good at it to begin with. ] My name is Ai Haibara and as you can already guess, I am new to Keeliai. I suppose the first thing for me to do is to find out how to be of use since there isn't much else I can think of doing for the time being.

[ She pauses to let out a small sigh and shake her head. There was a deadpan look on her face. ] Honestly though, the back of a turtle? This all feels like it should be something out of a video game or a manga.

[ Ai, appearing to be curious for just a moment, nodded her head. ]

Half Japanese, half British. [ She was fluent in both languages, but by default she usually spoke the same language as the other children back home. ]

A job? Well, I suppose that is something.

[It was the same for Midii; her Japanese was near flawless, thanks to the fact that it was (~~apparently~~) the dominant language of her world. Earth and the Space Colonies.]

What can you do?

[ She lets out a small sigh. This place really isn't sitting well with her so don't mind her. ]

The better question is what sort of work is there for kids?

That depends on who you ask. Not everybody seems to care how old we are.

[The fact that some people actually did was the new concept for her. Back home, a body was a body. Age was irrelevant, so long as ability could compensate.]

Somebody who was also brought here had offered me a job helping in his clinic. There are a lot of other places hiring too. Everything from running errands, to doing research.

[ Now there's something. That does cause her concern, but on the other hand, it could be something to use for her advantage. Perhaps there would be less questioning of what she knows given her apparent age. ]

Then it sounds to me like there are plenty of options out there. That's something I'll consider.

[Believe her, Ai, half the people on the Turtle would barely raise an eyebrow at another genius child. It's like Keelai was collecting them.]

Was there anything else you needed help with?

[ This is definitely going to helpful in the long run then for her. ]

No, not right now. But thank you for answering my questions.

[Judging from the girl's demeanor, adult conversation didn't seem like it would be a problem. However, Midii did feel slightly more comfortable around the younger Foreign members of the Turtle; it wasn't wrong to assume others like her would be in a similar frame of mine.]

[ She nodded her head once in response. ]

I will keep that in mind-- [ But suddnely she stops herself, realizing she doesn't even know the name of the girl she was speaking to. ] ... What is your name?

Midii Une. Une is my family name.

[She recalled how certain cultures would place their family name first. Thus, the clarification.]

And your name...is it 'Ai' or 'Haibara'?

It's Ai. Haibara is my surname.

[A nod.]

[Because, kid or no, she wasn't so ready and willing to give our her home address.]
