[The video opens on Victoria’s water sector suite. Miles and Victoria are in front of the camera, the latter of whom seems to have been put there somewhat against her will.]

Hey guys, Miles and Victoria here. We decided to do this broadcast ‘cause we’re both looking for jobs! Isn’t that right, Vic?

[Victoria’s eyes shift to look at Miles before her head turns and she’s silent for long enough to make it awkward before she speaks a single, slightly monotone word.]

Yes.

[She looks at the camera again and still looks like she wants to inch away from it but she decides to speak again.] I need to buy food.

[Victoria, you really shouldn’t put it that way. People will think you’re starving. She looks at Miles again, a clear ‘now what?’ look on her face.]

...Right. We both need to be able to buy stuff like food. Now, neither of us have much work experience, but I’m pretty good at math, and can be, like a delivery boy or something. Victoria, what are some of your skills?

[He looks at her somewhat expectantly, knowing she doesn’t like it, but also knowing it’s necessary.]

I can sweep. And do dishes.

[And draw but she’s not entirely sure that’s relevant.] Does...does that count?

That totally counts. I bet somebody will want to hire you to help keep their shop clean or something. [He looks at the camera now,] Right, everybody? Victoria would totally make a great maid.

So that’s it. We both need a job, and anybody who can help us out, please let us know! Thanks! [In a stage whisper, he adds,] Say thanks, Victoria.

[Victoria gives Miles another look, sighing slightly before ducking offscreen. It almost seems like she’s not going to say anything at all, but then she pops back into view again and says a hasty and slightly mumbled thanks before disappearing again.

That’s close enough. And good enough for Miles, as he waves and ends the feed.]

Then I may as well say I am looking for runners, to serve on a standing crew; I cannot say the pay is very high, and it is not a full-time job, either, but I should at least like to know I have a crew ready, should things come to a fight.

Yeah man, sure. [Except, if it comes to a fight and he's needed as Spidey, he might have to bail.]

[He rumbles, clearly pleased.] If you do not mind, I should like to have the both of you on for a trial flight sometime in the near future, just to be sure. Iskierka has been thinking of the same thing, so we might make a day of it, and we would of course provide food and drink during, so you need not worry about that.

Is Iski-- Is that another dragon?

That sounds like so much fun.

Yes, that is right, and she is a firebreather, but flying aboard her is much less pleasant than it sounds, unless you like being steamed all over, and having spikes poke you every other wingbeat. [You don't want to fly with her, right? You want to fly with Temeraire.]

Well--yes, we are hoping it will be. It has been some time since we have seen most of the turtle from the air.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with the non-spiky fiery dragon, thanks.
