[It's about midday when Shayera turns on the comm, sitting in the comforts of her suite in the Earth Sector. Her expression is her default serious, and her overall demeanor shows she means business, despite feeling a tad unusual about making a public appearance that's not in person. But that aside, she knows that she has something that needs to be said, and a little awkwardness isn't going to stop her.] My name is Shayera Hol. Most of you probably don't know me, but that's not the point here. I'm here to talk about training for self-defense in battle.

[She leans back in her chair to get comfortable, arms crossed as she speaks.] I know there's been a few other posts about this, but having more offers doesn't hurt things. A-- [There's a brief hesitation as she decides which word best describes Kyle. He said family, but... she never agreed to that.] friend of mine brought it to my attention that there are people here who need to know how to fight. There's things here that can kill, and people should be prepared to defend themselves against them should the need arise. I'm a pretty competent fighter, so don't worry about me knowing what I'm doing.

[Then there's the fact that there's teenagers here, and they're really going to need help unless they have some form of fighting on their own.] Even if you have your own powers or whatnot, knowing how to fight is still crucial. I'd be willing to help anybody out, so just give me a call, or come to my apartment, EA-2C. I'll be starting the lessons in a couple of weeks, if nothing unexpected pops up.

[filtered message to Captain James Kirk and Clara Oswald]

[Once that's been taken care of, she fixes up a filter to the two Kyle told her about.] The little ball of sunshine told me about you two in particular needing training, so don't expect to get out of it. If you've got any questions, feel free to drop by.

[She understands what Zatanna means, but on a smaller level. They just kept mistaking her for someone else.] If it helps at all, I don't really mind. You seemed perfectly fine in my world, and you do now.

[Still, she takes the compliment where it lays, and offers a friendly smile in return.]

I'd like to say the same, but honestly, I'm not even too sure if you're the same person from my world I'm thinking of. She always wears a helmet over her face, and we've never met in-person.

[Shayera is not the funny one of the League, Zatanna, trust her on that.

She does show a hint of surprise at hearing about the other her.] She does? [Things must be better for her.] I put my mask down a while ago.

[For now, yes. They might actually have been.]

Why?

Oh, you know. [A casual shrug.] Personal reasons.

[She knows she shouldn't ask. 'Personal reasons' was usually code for 'I don't want to talk about it'...but even when she recognized the Rules, that didn't always meant she followed them.]

Did you and Hawkman fight?

[Literally the only thing she could think of; in her world, the Hawk couple were rarely, if ever, seen apart.]

Hawkman? [Oh yeah, doesn't she work really well with him in other universes?] No, we're not that close. [Hah, yeah, best way to put it.] I just... some things happened with Thanagar, and I chose it would be best not to wear it anymore.

[Granted, not the biggest reveal that could ever be made. But still pretty surprising, considering.]

It's official. Every world that isn't ours is just weird.

Let me tell you, I envy you for that. [Her universe is giving her a headache every time she thinks back to it. Betrayed two worlds, a guy who thought he was an incarnation of a Thanagarian, she has a son with John in the future, it drives her crazy.]

Maybe we should just bring you all back with us when we go home.

[Clearly, this was the best solution. Assuming it was even possible, beyond Kyle's claims of inter-dimensional visiting. Which she still had her doubts about.]

Is John Stewart there, and is he single? [If he is, Shayera will gladly go. For a while, at least, she does have responsibilities in her universe to deal with.]

Uh...actually, I have no idea. I mean, he does exist. He and Hal are part of the League. But other than that, you have just as much of a chance at guessing as I do.

What little I get my dad to tell me about his job usually doesn't involve who's dating who. And the Tabloids are pretty useless, since they tend to go with rumor of the week.

[What, John is a perfectly nice man that she happens to have a romantic interest in. No one judges you for liking the Boy Wonder, do they.] Hm. If I ever drop by your universe, I'll have to find out for myself.

[Meaning flirt with him to high heaven.] How does the saying go? Believe none of what you hear, and half of what you read?

[Oh, they judge, alright. She can feel the judging. She just doesn't care.]

Obviously, you've never heard of the Internet where you're from.

[Shayera doesn't judge, so there.] Oh, I have. The Watchtower gets great signal, too. I just don't have much use for it.

Wouldn't know. Never been.

[Though she heard about it, thanks to Wally.]

Maybe you should drop by my universe so I can show you.

[Yup. She definitely likes you.]

I'd never object to a VIP tour.

Just don't expect a trip in the javelin, they'd have my head for taking a kid in one of those.

I don't suppose arguing that I'm not a kid would work?

[15 was not a kid in her mind. And nobody would tell her otherwise.]

To be honest, I don't even know what a Javelin is, anyway. Zeta Tube is fine with me.

If you're not eighteen or older, you're a kid. Just the way it works. [It is in Shayera's book.]

Think of it like a spaceship. We've got boom tubes, not zeta tubes, where I'm from, though. Do they work the same?

[Oh, Shayera And she was just starting to think you were cool.]

Now you're starting to sound like my dad. Only with him, it's more like thirty.

[Don't worry, everyone else has that opinion.] Thirty? You're kidding. That's above and beyond overprotective.

A way of traveling across the universe, like a teleportation device of sorts. New Genesis made it.

Yeah, thanks. I've noticed.

[Getting grounded after helping to save the world without his permission was a pretty big clue.]

That sounds pretty close. I don't think they've made it across the universe yet, but it was a handy way to get from New York to Rhode Island without having to deal with the George Washington Bridge.

Can't be fun for you very much. [She did the same, Zatanna. Saved the world and got punished. It's a thing.]

So it's like small scale teleportation. We've only got that from the Watchtower to Earth.
